Tony and Crystal reviewed the original Psycho and felt like recording a commentary track for the 1998 remake right after. Crystal never watched it all the way through before so this was really fun! www.patreon.com/posts/psycho-1998-62037694
I let my 13 year old son watch psycho for the first time. He thought his mother was the killer till the end. He also made the stab sound before it happened and was like oh its this movie that does it.
Crystal, you and Tony are awesome together, I hope you realize how cool of a person you are and one day don't fight depression! Love seeing you on the channel, thanks for being awesome!
Its a rainy night at the HACK THE BATES MOTEL. Tony and Crystal are in Room 2 talking about "Psycho." Unaware that Justin Bates' "Mother" is waiting for Trisha Crane to take her shower. 🔪🚿
I remember watching this with my mother after my sister and I rented part 2. I was more shocked by the detective falling down the stairs. Love this movie as well as the sequels and TV show.
@@flapjackjuice3338 by season 3 it was a little CW for my liking it got really repetitive like they just had the same 3 situations every couple episodes it's not a bad show just not that good either
I'm not white and I drive without a regular license. Heck I've driven almost a full year with expired plates and the police never said boo about it. One time I even drove on the wrong side of the rode while taking my parents truck for a joyride and then I was stopped by the police. All they did was redirect me.
They also needed to pull the car out to recover the body, shower curtain, etc. for evidence and for a proper burial. But hey, while we have it out, might as well give the drunk cowboy his $40k back.
(Watches an episode with Johanna) Johanna's definitely the best co-host; she should be on every episode. (Watches an episode with Trisha) Trisha's definitely the best co-host; she should be on every episode. (Watches an episode with Crystal) Crystal's definitely the best co-host; she should be on every episode.
I think 2 is fine, less talking over each other and they get to go deeper into their opinions and general commentary It depends on the movie, some more fun light hearted movies are better with more people
i wasn't the guy holding the sign, but i 100% support him. Also Alfred Hitchcock was a freaking genius. The man knew how to build suspence and keep you hooked.
My intro to this narrative is the show "Bates Motel" and I was glued to the series the entire time. The final season is basically the movie extended to a season but I like how it's done. Kind of a slow-burn but if you know "Psycho" then the Easter eggs are worth it and the actor playing Norman was perfect casting. Y'all should check it out seriously.
@1:10:38 omg, haha. Crystal was so still while she was accessing the Reanimator opening theme in her memory banks, i thought my phone froze for a second even though Tony was audibly commenting.
I’m pretty sure Tony paid somebody to hold up that sign cause he loves her like the rest of us lol. I’m also pretty sure crystal knows and is saying “yes” but only if you were rich.
In FL we used to have the house from Psycho 4 because it was shot there in the universal back lot, then it got torn down. I have a picture of me in front of it as a kid, and we used to have the Alfred Hitchcock experience show but unfortunately they torn that down and either Shrek 4D is there or Transformers. I miss it.
I worked at Alfred Hitchcock: The Art of Making Movies. Hitch shot in black and white; largely to save money; and that's also why he used the crew from his show.
Hack The Movies My father was worked as a drive theater usher when this came out and told me all the rules they were required to enforce when screening this movie.
For me, the most suspenseful moments in this movie weren't any of the murder scenes, but Marion at the car dealership with the cop on her trail and when Norman is trying to dispose of the car in the bog and it looks like it's not going to sink.
It was 2006 it was my senior year and one of my classes was film study, the teacher told us (students) how he one time accidentally spoiled the whole movie for a class he had in the year of 2004 I think, FYI *this teacher asked every class if they seen these films if they say YES then they DON'T watch it* if I remember correctly my teacher told that class of 04 he accidentally said Norman's mother was a "he" when my teacher meant to say a "she" unfortunately he didn't catch it in time because the class of 04 were saying "Wait is the mother actually the father?" or "it's his brother or could be a cousin" until this one student said "It's Norman" 😆 my teacher couldn't believe what he cause! so he ask the class of 04 if they still want to watch it and they say of course 😁
Classic movie. & Psycho 2 is surprisingly good. Haven't seen the remake but did see cinematographer Christopher Doyle doing a q & a where he talked about it being an experiment in making a b & w film in colour. Seems pointless tbh.
Resident Evil Code Veronica did exactly the same thing. So, when I watched the movie I totally saw the big twist coming. Love that game, i hope we get a remake.
Yes she is beautiful and she knows a lot more than I do and anybody I know about films so, I guess yes I can't but she's not stupid, So people shouldn't say that. And even though you know Tony looks like John Belushi. Tony, Justin, James even Tony's sister funny. People are assholes don't take everything as Serious
I am sorry Crystal you are going through a divorce, that must be so hard. It sounds like you have a strong support network of good friends. Take care and thank you for the great content
The first time I was exposed to Psycho was when I was 11, at the Universal Studios Alfred Hitchcock attraction. Unfortunately, they no longer have that attraction. It has been gone for a long time.
The scariest thing about Psycho is the idea of how this psychopath is living in the middle of nowhere with a creepy house and motel and he's pretending to be his mother.
Hitchcock films are great and innovative for it's time. I recently watched House of Gucci and wow what a fantastic cast and film, one of the best films to watch in 2022 and definitely someone has to win an Oscar in it. Lady Gaga was great as the gold digger even though I do not like her music, her acting was great and facial expressions that hit the right moods in the scenes, not to mention Adam Driver, Al Pacino, Jared Leto, Jeremy Irons and Salma Hayek, won't give any spoilers, but it is really worth seeing. Ridley Scott directed it and he has done an amazing job, for both this film and also the recently released The Last Duel film, both are a home run. His IMDB page also states he will be directing another Alien Prequel, Gladiator 2 and a Napoleon film. Suggestion for Crystal and Tony, can you both review House of Gucci within a drive in cinema and have just gopro cameras or proper cameras inside the car and also to both dress up in formal gowns like they do in the film! please guys! no one ever does movie reviews inside a car cinema.. thought you guys at Hack The Movies, can be the first? 📼
Jared Leto was 'Italian Stereotype' in the terrible House Of Gucci movie, and the accents... I don't know which is worse between a somewhat Russian accent and Super Mario.
You're not just eye candy Crystal lol 🤣😍🥰!! You definitely know your movie stuff. Screw the haters! Also mint salad is the eye candy 🤣😂🤣! Mint is just too damn funny and the stuff that she says makes her eye candy. Good stuff guys! Psycho is a classic and must own. Getting on 4k soon.
I don't compliment women because I'm a 45 year old dude and it would just come off as creepy but if I were to compliment a woman I would say crystal is awesome in every way.
Marion's body was in the car along with the money, so I'm guessing, just speculating here, that her family collected it and buried it. But I could totally be wrong about that.
It was me, yep, totally me, I was at the wrestle match with the sign. Totally there, can't prove I wasn't. Marry me Crystal Quin? But seriously, she's my kinda woman, and I'd gladly have a Hitchcock marathon with her, as long as she doesn't mind a Kubrick marathon afterwards. lol

i love the channel, if this was a real store i would be coming in to rent everyday just to hang out.

It was cool to see a review of an old, classic film like this. More classic film reviews would be neat, too.
Agreed. Creature from the black lagoon would be good
100% there needs to be a "Marry me Crystal Quin" T-shirt.
Excellent review! Always nice to see the newly-engaged Crystal on the show. You guys should definitely review Psycho 2, please.
Also agree. Psycho 2 is a very worthy follow up.
Crystal is glowing in this video. She's just perfection incarnated.
found the guy with the sign!

This was a fun episode :-) Crystal and Tony are so funny together, love their reviews
I was watching the Rumble with my wife and daughter and when I saw the sign and I started laughing my ass off at how cool that was. 🤣
The scariest part about the shower scene is every shower you take in real life afterwards.
I just saw someone else make this comment on the actual clip of the shower scene. I’m guessing you saw it too.
oh for sure! how could two people ever think of the same idea that's just crazy

(Slyly looks at camera) 😉
It's also the first movie to show a toilet onscreen! Lol 🚽
the dude with the sign at royal rumble is a legend now!!

Bates Motel started out alright but it went downhill pretty quick
@@NotThatJonesShow Naa, its good through. Could have gone without some of the town plot but it kept things interesting.

Another stellar Tony and Crystal duet!! Bravo, fun watch, informative facts 🤘
Crystal wants someone to watch Hitchcock with........sign guy take notes
I wish you well in what you're going through Crystal.
Great research Crystal! A Cinema lover for sure.
This episode was great fun as usual. Love you HTM crew, you make Thursdays not suck so much.

Haha good for you Crystal because you are awesome! Nice bluray collection Tony! And yess Bates Motel is great👌🏻 Just gove it a chance!

John Gavin (Loomis) signed a contract to play James Bond if Sean Connery decided not to return. Connery returned but Gavin was still paid the money.

I’m so glad he brought up the Royal Rumble thing
"A Perfect Murder" with Michael Douglas is a remake a Alfred Hitchcock's "Dial M for Murder" (1954).
I like Crystal's "Jennifer's Body" shirt.
Thanks!
All these years of acquiring weath and disregarding women is finally gonna payoff.
His cameo in North By Northwest was literally a quick joke at the beginning of the film: he tries to catch a bus and misses it. That's it. Haha.
I’m pretty sure Tony paid somebody to hold up that sign cause he loves her like the rest of us lol. I’m also pretty sure crystal knows and is saying “yes” but only if you were rich.
No, Crystal, you can't know who the RR person is unless you say "yes". That is the RR proposal challenge
The code you were talking about was the Hays Code. It was still in effect in 1960 but it was on its way out.
Oh thank goodness for a minute I thought it was the bad one lol

"Norman", isn't the murderer. "Mother", is the one who's confidant. Also, Saboteur was the movie that takes place at the Statue of Liberty.
This is my favorite Hitchcock movie and one of my favorite horror movies. Psycho 2 is also a highly underrated sequel and deserves more attention.
