Thank you for posting this. This is one of the few solo piano versions I can find, and it sounds amazing

Yes, they aren't easy to find. Last time I tried there were none to be found except one version done on a computer (and sounds pretty good too). I see this is fairly recent.

You are amazing! I can't imagine how hard it is to play a piece intended for a full orchestra

I wish he would sit down in a recording studio and put this on a CD. (Just checked his website to be sure he hadn't done this already.) An exciting performance with a lot going on in it. I can't be sure, but if anything, he has added a voice in parts of it.

He and Adelina Patty toured together for many years when they were young

I would say that this is some heroic feat alright, both as to your special arrangement and, of course, executionally.
If Louis Moreau himself were here, there could be no doubt that he would stand as amazed and therefor offer his hearty congratulations to you.
Most unfortunately he is not, and therefor mine will just have to do . . .
Congratulations for your stupendous musical and digital accomplishment.

Thank you! Some years ago I gave monographic recitals on Gottschalk’s music. About this tarantelle, I started from Espadero piano solo transcription, but I added something I consider important from the original version. Very nice music I hope people will know better in the future!

We are proud to have L.M. as one of our own, so many of the Greats of the 88 being of otherwise origination and all?
By sovereign command of Necessity it was, that the daughters Moirai did make it so.
I am now the seven-hundred-eighty-second subscriber of yours, dear Alessandro.
      Ciao!

Excellent transcription! I love how you added some of the orchestration to the solo. It lent a realistic quality to Gottschalk's work that is absent from many performers' interpretations.

Good Lord!! Don't try this at home! What a workout...is it even humanly possible actually play this without any mistakes?? Omg, awesome!

I was thinking the same thing. At full tempo this piece was written for some advanced alien race as it requires truly super-human skill. Amazing performance.

Extraordinary! This is difficult enough to play with an orchestra, let alone solo. 👏👏👏👏👏👏
    Whose arrangement is this?

    • @AlessandroMarinoPianist
      @AlessandroMarinoPianist  2 роки тому +1

Thanks! The arrangement is by Espadero, a friend of Gottschalk, but I modified the final part, since the triumphal theme was missing!
