I had this happen to a recent upload. In addition to the fact that their hyper-sensitive robot was flat wrong, I found it insulting. After going through a completely unnecessary appeal process, they approved the video as is. This is a discouraging trend on many fronts.
That is why I stopped uploading videos to one of my other channels and removed most of them. I had one flagged because I said "Cotter Pin". I have no idea how it got the word it thought I said out of that. I tried to go back and refilm a few videos for higher quality and better explanation. All of them got demonized for something stupid. None of them had music of any kind and I only stated what I was doing in simple English with no swearing of any kind. It really feels like the smaller you are the harder it hits you. I don't know how you guys do it. All I wanted to do is make some videos to get people interested in DSMs again and use the money from ads to buy a better camera that I'd literally only use to create content. I almost got to the point where I would get a check then I was hit with the demonetization bomb. Besides you two and Jafro it seems like almost no one really makes quality videos featuring DSMs and the few that do never get anything for it.
So terrible to hear what UA-cam has been doing to smaller channels lately. I hope your videos stay out of their sights and you're able to keep to keep making great content!
I’m restoring a 1ga and I’m a smaller channel too and I swear, every damn time I use “DSM” in a title I was having to do manual review even though I’m nowhere near the threshold for manual review it got fixed but it was super annoying. Then one day I was riding along, smoking crack and giving handies (as you do) and my wife goes “holy shit your videos we’re getting demonetized because DSM is super close to S&M!” So I quit using that and I never really curse in my videos (save for the occasional holy shiiiiiiiiiiit) so I’ve been pretty lucky sense then. Anyhow thanks for making this, I love your videos and they’re super helpful with Vanilla Rice!

I can't help but read this as DEMONIZED! But I feel you... I get flagged for copywritten music all the time. Even though I made the music myself. UA-cam is certainly not concerned about who they piss off these days.
This doesn't even really hurt me directly, I currently only make pennies from UA-cam anyway. But I need to have my content available to be a "suggested video" if I ever want to keep growing the channel, which is where all this nonsense affects a small channel like mine.
So, here's the thing: if you wanted to exercise your right to free speech, why did you choose a corporate forum, where you're not afforded nor entitled to those rights?
You say not to mess with all these things...what about if youtube asks you to stop using their platform? Just he appreciative of the arrangement...make the correction and post on. Or dont swear :D... I hear the frustration bud, but its hard as is for a large platform to appease everyone...responses like yours could "discourage" youtube n then what lol
