I just replaced the chrome handle on my Oreck XL 3800. It broke apart between the two screw holes. It's real pain to put the handle back together.
It's a good idea to take a photo of the internals of the handle to see how the components fit before getting too far into to the repair.

My Oreck has spade connections, and the new switch doesn’t, so I made them compatible, and now I can’t remember the proper way to connect the switch. Thank goodness for breaker switches.
Would you mind showing the proper way to install the switch?

My Oreck was also made in New Orleans, Date: 04005
Model UC7COHHPK
Serial #. 3700HHPCOOO214-6
But mine is a reverse of yours.

yeah well it's 20 years old in human years which makes it about 150 years old in vacuum years. You wont sound so great at 150 either.
