I became a welder because I had no other choice. Make okayish money, minimum wage, or go homeless. I wish I had the opportunity she had when it came to choosing a career.

If you’re a welder making minimum wage you should seriously find another line of work. At this point, working at McDonald’s for 2 years would be more lucrative.

my opinion changed as soon as she mentioned the thing about genders, this new generation of the work force really doesn't care what your gender is only about the job. Only the old folks make sexist jokes or statements, really irritating whenever someone brings that up man or woman.

As someone who has experienced discrimination on the job for being female as well as many other women I know in the trade I can definitely say it DOES exist. It is definitely getting less frequent for myself but I know trades women who struggle with this daily. I personally find it more irritating that people ignore the fact that it does still happen in the workplace. I would rather others talk about it in the hopes of ending ALL the stigma for the women who are experiencing it.

They passed that on younger generation.Rare are those that don't think or talk like that.I like to say to someone who talk behind girl's back or making comment about her body like "don't you have Mother or Sister? Can't you have respect for women because of them?" Sad but true.

She brought up the" fact " that women can do it better Ha those are some pretty big boots to fill with a very small foot. If you're good at your job great. Please don't play both sides of the coin saying that you want equality and then say women are better and not expect to be called on it. Usually the people who are truly the best are recognized by all who surrounds them. Not so with the loudmouth look at how good I am worker. With this type of attitude Male or Female is going to make your future a tough one.

@@alaskanken2132 yep. don't just flip the script on the hate. The hates still there. How about just flipping your hood down and laying beads to get the work done instead of analyzing gender performance and stating that your gender can do it better than the others. Just stfu about gender and weld lmfao.

some jobs are made for men and some jobs are made for women. Just like women in life give birth and men dont give birth. Men are naturally stronger than women, whereas women are more mentally stronger than men.
