I’m sorry, but Ms. Jennifer Holliday is very underrated. I love her so much, her voice was so powerful back in her prime, the voice technique and control was literally God-given. And yet she was so quiet and humble.

This is a better performance than 'And I Am Telling You." Her vocal is so much more controlled. The way that she builds up to the climax seems humanly impossible. Jennifer, that voice is a world wonder.
Both are great. "And I'm telling you" requires a lot more like pain and anguish than I Am Love, so of course it is more controlled. 😒

She had a powerful voice but I felt like she was always trying to repeat And I Am Telling You. She could also sing with a delicacy, but I rarely heard that style from her. She did a masterful job with Good Morning Heartache. The video is on UA-cam. I would’ve liked to have heard that style from her more often. But she’s still extremely gifted.

That is a VIBRATO! And no it is not confined to just her, every singer has it, if not, they just will have to train it!
It's a shame her talent was overshadowed by her weight if they had a given her a fair chance there's no level she couldn't have reached
