many people learned alot of lessons from Harry Potter. That lesson for me was separating art from the artist and that liking a piece of media is not an endorsement of the views of someone who made it TLDR: you can like HP without liking the beliefs of JK Rowling
Respectfully, its her Opinion, she is entitled to one and its her right. People now a days seem to hell bent on silencing those who voice their opinions especially when said opinions do not a line with the majority, but then those same people who silence others for their opinions expect to have one of their own? nah. If women's rights are so important to everyone, why are we witch hunting J. K. for voicing her opinion, and after the women of the past worked so hard so that we could have a voice in this world. J. K. is in her right, so leave her alone.
@@denisedarland3345 J. K. never said she hated trans people, she expressed her concern of the fact that puberty blockers were being given to children and cited evidence that is is actually incredibly harmful to trans peoples bodies. She also expressed concern that biological women's spaces such as bathrooms and women's sports are being overrun with trans women. Believe it or not a lot of women feel unsafe in this world as it is, but add biological men in women's bathrooms into the mix and its a miracle we don't all just lock ourselves inside. And its not the trans women that actually put in the effort to look like a woman, but those who simply throw on a dress and some heels and grow their hair long and just say that they are a women, but very much still look like a man. And on the premise of trans women in bio women's sports. When you live life as a man, go through puberty as a man, your body is of a man. Lung capacity, wingspan, foot size, stamina, height, muscle mass, speed. All of these things contribute to the advantage of being a biological man, just because you go on hormones or whatever it is for a year does not mean any of these things change. They benefit from all of these things which naturally puts them at an advantage over women, put them in women's sports and they will completely decimate them. Lia Thomas was 480th in men's swimming, she immediately went to number 1 when she transitions and joined the women's team. She didn't go from 480th to first because she good at swimming, no, she went to number 1 because she is biologically a man and she has an advantage. This is what J. K. Rowling was talking about. These were the two main points. And I personally agree with her. I Respect your opinion as I hope you will respect mine. And this conversation can be over.
They hate the author and think she's a "terrible person" because she said common sense things out loud and their snowflake brains can't process reality.
I don't think Harry Potter and J. K. Rowling should be cancelled. The only think wrong with Rowling is her transphobia. Otherwise she is a good person with good progressive views. It is fine to point out this one flaw. However fans have really overreacted and nitpicked both Rowling and the series to death. People really need to calm down. I live in the United States. This country is plagued by extremist nasty conservatives. The alt-right us the freaking worst. If one was going for some moral outrage, it is much better aim it at them. They are the ones that deserve the hatred. I think of Rowling as a low priority. In the grand scheme of things, she is a liberal and therefore an ally of other liberals. Let's deal with the conservatives first. Then after victory we can deal with the liberals that are a bit less PC. If someone wants to personally avoid Rowling for moral reasons, that is fine. I can understand that, especislly if that person is trans. However canceling is way too far. I think there is even a quote from the first movie that fits my opinion. "She [Hermione] needs to sort out her priorities." - Ron
Has nobody who thinks it’s a good idea to ‘cancel Harry potter’ heard of the debate “separate the art from the artist”? These people wouldn’t make it through the IB program lmao.
Problem is that JKR herself said that she sees people still buying her stuff as those people agreeing with her views. (Even though I would assume a lot of people buying her stuff aren't even aware of the controversy, because they're not on Twitter or UA-cam 24/7.)
I think the Hatty Potter books are awfull. But JK Rowling became my gero for standing up against the malugnant tyranny of the community of "Love and Tolerance". I even bought Hogwarts Legacy. Wasted money, the game is wayyy to woke for my personal taste.

Totally agree.
Harry Potter isnt "cancelled" when there are still 500 million fans supporting it. You're 29, grow up.

Should J. K. Rowling have kept quiet?
No.
We need Heroes that fight the Community if "Love and Tolerance"
Nope. The truth should never be restrained. Fuck their feelings.
