If you're powering up the heal by double stacking isn't lifesteal a little redundant? Why not build prots in that spot? Breastplate keeps the poke, gives you tankiness and you still get to heal up a bunch.
It’s funny how everyone thinks and says that it’s “not like smite”. Yes it is lmao. The building system may be different but that part of it being a different game. It’s nothing like other mobas, especially because it’s not top-bottom shit click. It feels weird right now because it’s alpha, as they stated… it was going to be a TRUE alpha, lots of bugs and glitches, possibly some smoothing out to do. Feedback is good for a game in testing phase, not crying and complaining. Also, blink isn’t an item anymore, it’s a true relic again.
The only thing similar between smite 1 and 2 is the unique point of view when playing. The gods are mostly different, the building is different, game flow is different, the map is different, the starts are different, the buffs are different. The core mechanic of the game as a whole is different from smite 1. I'm not saying it's a good or bad thing, but it is not the same game.
I'll be honest - I'm not having fun with Smite 2. It's still in Alpha and it shows. Incredibly unbalanced with a microscopic roster, every game feels like a Game Mode of the Day from Smite 1. I'm hoping more gods and more items will eventually make it feel a little bit more rewarding, but I'm definitely not feeling it right now.
@@Acusumano25 Oh where do I start? As weird as it sounds, I think the issue is the freedom - as in, there's _too much._ On paper, being able to stack buffs and pick any item on any god sounds awesome, but there was a certain structure to Smite 1 that encouraged intelligent building and gameplay. Smite 2 has _no_ structure. The whole 'strength vs intelligence' thing coupled with the 'magical vs physical damage' makes things so needlessly complicated. Building tank is either horrendously boring or straight up impractical - you're genuinely better off going straight damage in most cases. Combat blink is almost exclusively used as a getaway rather than for offense, and the fact that you have to choose between it, beads, and aegis in the first place makes playing safe almost impossible. Buffs being able to stack on top of each other completely eliminates incentive to have proper buff rotations or choose specific buffs entirely. Being able to build any item on any god removes pretty much all the synergy from a build (which makes _counter building_ damn near impossible or pointless). In its current state, Smite 2 is a snowball fest. Either plow or get plowed. No rules, no restrictions, just sheer aggression. Which would be fine if it wasn't _literally the entire game._ Stuff like this was reserved for MotD for a reason. Both the skill floor and ceiling have been dramatically lowered, and it just doesn't feel good to play.
@@jtdarelli2362 Honestly, it just sounds like you're used to Smite 1 & you're having a hard time letting go. Combat blink is the best thing to happen to smite. Doesn't matter how it's used, its good & limiting relics is a Godsend. Smite 1 coddled players. It DID NOT start out that way, and that's why players became jaded with it over time. Playing safe, should come from the players, not game mechanics. People running around with beads Aegis was absurd. One get of Jail free card is cool, we all make mistakes, but beads & aegis artificially inflated bad players. It taught you to neglect proper positioning, because hey, even if you get caught out of place, you'll just beads & aegis away. I sorta agree with the buffs. I don't see that lasting past Alpha. TBH, the entire flow of the jungle is off. There doesn't feel like a real need to be jungling. Everyone takes your back camps anyway, so you never get a proper rotation started, and whether or not people show up for their buffs at all is in the air. The only thing that I will say that Smite 1 did better than Smite 2 is doing now is gameplay flow. Similar to the jungle, it kind of feels like, there isn't any real direct goal.
I actually disagree with so much you have said its crazy and i don't know where to start. Let me tell you from my pov what I disagree with as a triple masters player with 4 years experience and 3k hours. I think that intelligence and strength is a awesome additions as you can build different ways. Some abilities take intelligence and some take strength or scale off of both. With a lot of items you can build exactly how you want and you can even scale more know because you have 6 item slots and a designated starter item slot, also instead of just buying 3k pots when you had nothing else you could buy in smite 1. Also it is better if the game is more complicated it isn't needlessly it's better for the game overall where players will be able to show more skill in mechanics or god building. Combat blink is probably my favorite addition to the game, let me explain. For example, on Chaac you can ult then blink which can make for some huge plays and set up for the team. Also in addition with new gods or old gods that they will continue to add to the game. Combat blink will only get better. It also only isn't used for running away. And if it is then its down for almost 5 minutes, 4 to be exact. Playing safe can be a playstyle not a dependability. The fact that you had both beads and aegis is smite 2 was absurd. It was incredibly broken and sometimes very frustrating to play against because of how often it could come up when it was upgraded. The counterbuilding part doesn't make any sense as you can have he same amount of items as everyone else. I would like you to explain why you think this way. You have enough items to counter anyone in the game maybe not the whole team but atleast 3-4 almost every game if you plan on it. The snowball fest part. I feel like you should get rewarded for being good at the game (compared to the opponents). You should be able to snowball if you are playing it well and doing your job. MotD was nothing like that. Mode of the day was where you can get in a game with friends and just have a good time with the different settings. The skill ceiling has incredibly increased and the skill floor has dramatically lowered. People will complain about being bad at the game but never realize they can just play the game and get better instead of complaing about it. (LMK IF I MISSED ANYTHING) I am 15 so please dont mind if mispelled anything or had bad grammar
Nothing changed with smite 2 they thought the graphics or game engine are the issue but the game still got the same issues from s2 till this day..... what a shame

I love smite, but smite 2 shouldn't be called smite at all. The game is closer to paragon or league... the item building system completely ruins it for me. I don't play those games for a reason. I loved the magical and physical God system but now it's gone... idk who put forth these changes but its definitely made me not like the game.
Agreed. The stuff they carried over from Smite 1 is genuinely holding it back and making it altogether a worse game. Either stick to what works or try something new. Doing both has just made life harder for everyone.
are smite 2 caps the same as smite 1 like strength vs physical power or intel vs magic power or cooldown being caped at 40% so on? Scratch that, I just heard you say while watching this video your going to do a video talking about all that LMAO!
No, and I don't think it's been clearly explained either. There's no cap when it comes to cooldown rate & whatnot, but it has diminishing returns. What that maths out to? Who tf knows?

To my fellow Samalanders, any advice on Smite 2? I just downloaded it and I dont know what builds are good or anything, should I go with auto-builds?
Would love to see what settings people are running. My game is unplayably laggy even on all low settings. I must be missing something...
