If you only have to have one hit record in your lifetime, I feel blessed that it was Wildflower.. Thanks for the kind words, Bj

Too bad the band didn't meet with more success. There was potential.

I discovered this just recently - way late. But I'd like to let you know you're an incredible singer and your redition of 'Woodstock' has all the proof of a gifted vocalist. Thank you. BTW I live in Thailand so Swaddee.

Bj, You really were and still are a great performer. Skylark has been a band that I have loved since I was a young kid and the music more than stands the test of time.

Tamre Winger yes, that's some great singing; wasn't she pregnant with Amy there? 8 1/2 months if I remember correctly. Amy's done a lot with Michael Buble.

She got some tubes for sure. The harmonies were fantastic. It's not easy t do that live like that! I love the album I used to have with Saying Goodbye and She's A Lady....( I was in my 20's) wow what great songs, production and singing. I have to get back to that album!

You have no idea how much that means to me. Like a lot of people my age, we protested and met many young men who came here, to avoid that war.. Hearing that you were there and that you made it back, my heart truly sings.. Now there are another crop of kids fighting a war we don't understand, but this time Canada is right in the thick of it, we are losing our young men too.. Thank you so much for this, I truly hope your life is good and that you've found peace.. God bless, most sincerely, Bj

My dad had Skylark's music in his massive collection of 45's when I was just a kid. Through him I learned a greater appreciation for the work of many artists. But even after all this time I still won't admit to him he had great taste in music. I would never hear the end of it :-P

Actually this footage was pulled from a local Victoria documentary (2004) called, "BJ Cook: A Life Without Compromise" by Steve Poole who also meticulously restored the audio and video of this footage from a badly beat up VHS video tape.

@MsGroovalicious Hi there, my friend gave me an entire set of the Midnight Special, and unfortunately, Skylark was not part of it, which is weird, it was a great show, Gladys Knight hosted, even John Prine was part of the line up. I've heard they are doing some more segments, so lets hope Skylark will be included. Take care, Bj

Oh I've thought about it many times.. if you listen to those lyrics, they still apply today.... In that video I'm pregnant, and that baby is now a very successful songwriter.. she wrote both of Michael Buble's hits and in Oct her first book will be released. Coincidentally my daugther's favorite writer has always been Joni Mitchell.. Thanks for the message.. hope all is well in your life.. cheers, Bj

Maybe if I heard this song on an album or '45 I may not have taken to it so quick, fortunately I watched the video first. You can tell they put their hearts into this performance and that is one of the reasons why it is such a great song.

Someone just sent this to me again.. I agree we did kick some serious Canadian Arse! By the way, I'm pregnant with Amy (Foster).. she just happened to co-write all three of Michael Buble's hits. So, it's true.. the beat does go on.. cheers, Bj

wow and not so wow. the music rips but her voice is like what Julie Driscoll did to Brian Auger (at times) somewhat bittersweet. In either case, a fantastic treat - thanks for the upload.

They seem to have altered the lyrics a little bit, especially the 'we are billion year old carbon' part of the corus, anyone know what they are singing instead, just curious? Also, this is amazing!

I just read your message to me, and thought that whoever posted it has it kind of screwed up.. Donny Gerrard was pretty much the lead singer in Skylark. There was 3 "frontmen" and each of us were featured, but Donny did most of the leads. He's actually still on the road and touring with Mavis Staples.. If you want to see them you can google her and see her touring schedule... cheers, Bj

You kinda remind me of Adele [British soul singer/songwriter... appearance-wise and vocally, of course. You were a beautiful woman... and energetic for being in your 3rd trimester w/ your unborn child. Outta all of David's wives [except Rebecca, who I've never seen] you were the most attractive. ;D

I never knew that Skylark did a version of this CSN&Y song. Cdn groups like Skylark are in Canadians hearts forever. God bless the 70's, everyone that was there and everyone that appreciates this music to this day. P.S. Disco and Rap are both crap.

I am hoping that you're only joking about not telling your father that it was his love of music and exposing you to all of it, that has given you your appreciation and love for it? Good music is good music.. Wildflower is over 30 yrs old and people still play it and love it.. I'm thinking your Dad was right on the money! Take care.. BJ
