Great video guys. Couple of comments, try not to hang a painting over a fireplace, soot will damage it, a traditional design element would be a coat of arms, perhaps findable at a flea market. I don't know how much experience you have with fireplaces, but prior to the heating season once a year hire a professional chimney sweep to clean, do NOT do this yourself. A chimney fire can burn down the house. The sweep will not only clean out ash and creosote but also check for bird/animal nests and also make sure the masonry is intact, making sure smoke/fire does not enter the walls and cause possible carbon monoxide poisoning. Buy yourself 2 heavy duty hand trucks to move furniture, appliances etc with. Use one at each end and just steer. When moving cabinets use painters' blue tape to keep doors closed also lock up the dog to avoid tripping. I personally would hire someone to take care of mundane tasks that take away from the tasks that will confront you on a daily basis when running such an estate. It doesn't need to be fulltime but like your gardener you need someone to come each day for 1-3 hours to open shutters, replenish wood, empty ashes, change lightbulbs, check 1 room a day closely for water/insect problems etc. Ensure smoke alarm/carbon monoxide detectors, fire extinguishers, first aid kits are present and complete. I don't know what the reaction time of your local fire department is, but you might consider putting in fire hose holders at various locations and have some surplus turnout gear on hand. Any rooms on the 3rd floor or above should have a retractable fire ladder.
When I saw the furniture arrive I thought of my youth. I come from a family of five sisters. And no brothers, just Dad. And we were raised to hustle. We did everything. We never waited for a man. First of all I am so delighted you and yours are finally at your lovely Château. I remember seeing you on Stefanie’s vlog during your stay at LaLande and how she toured your home for you, I can’t remember if she did it was live or recorded for you, but even then I loved it. Loved this style of video! The epic artisanal coffee machine priority is extremely relatable. Troubadour seems like SUCH a sweet pup who adores her humans. And I very appreciate Penelope getting to live out her 10th Kingdom fairytale forest dreams. (The 10th Kingdom was so good! So underrated!)

What a beautiful video. I love this day-in-the-life format, I could watch one every week. So often vloggers think they need a topic to post a video when most people want to watch what everyday life is like. It's never dull to watch someone live out their lives in a setting like Puy Vidal. I hope you are able to make many more videos just like this one.
So excited for you guys. It looks like a place to live out your dreams. Would love to see the process of outfitting each of your rooms. It looks as if it will mostly be cosmetic changes, which is the fun part! ❤️😃
Thank you for sharing your day with us! I’m glad Mary requested it. You give someone like me, who lives outside city limits of a very small town, Peculiar Missouri USA, a chance to see something beautiful in France. I rarely venture far from home because of my health. I could almost smell the beautiful roses and ❤️to hear the clanking of the gate. My youngest daughter (32) and I thought we were the only 2 who LOVES the mini series “The 10th Kingdom”! You all did a wonderful job taking us through your day. I look forward to seeing you soon. 😊
What a fabulous vlog. I just absolutely adore your chateau and gardens. It’s already beautiful but there is so much potential to improve it and when great furniture is cheap to get you will decorate it easily. That cabinet is a steal at 80 euros. Now you need to find an appropriate dining table in the same style which I think is Henri II. It was extremely popular during the late 1800s. You are going to have so much fun and we will to as you vlog your progress. Thank you for sharing. Neil in Australia 🇦🇺

That was delightful! It is so nice that you are willing to share your life with us! Puy Vidal is truly a special place and you all will make it even more so! The cabinet is fabulous! It looks like it was always there!
What a wonderful gift you have given us! My utterly favorite part was Maruca’s kind of tossed off comment that she “looks for signs of affection”. This point of view permeates your whole family, one way or another. Each is his or her own way. I am now adopting it as one of mine because it is so dear, and gentle and full of the simplest appreciation for everyone who can muster a sign of affection, from building a huge chateau hundreds of years ago to folding a pretty napkin for a spring apèro on the terrace. From digging a ditch with expertise, to letting go of demands that Orange behave anything but French, from weeping over a lost love, to remembering the forest kingdom.
Im 20 min in, and its SO charming. This would be a fun concept for videos that come more regularly. Maybe just the waking up, morning routine and joining the gang downstairs. It really shows the comunal aspect of this endeavor and the ebb and flow of togetherness. Just loved it. Especially the little comments from different people at different times about the same things/objects/happenings. It's such a small, but powerful way to connect the different points of view/narratives. Well done Ladies! All the best!
What a beautiful Chateau, and such lovely grounds. It does seem like a very special place, as your French teacher said. It has a feeling of "lightness," somehow, it's own little universe running on it's own unique time. A Fairy Tale. I love the puppy! Thank you.💗
Your all beautiful ladies, and what a beautiful home, what a difference just opening the shutters makes. Your doing great Mum with the camera … good job ladies xx
I’ve binge watched all the videos now, now I need more, more, more, I watch a lot chateau vlogs but seriously this is right up the top of my faves already, the whole chateau family are delightful, the cat, the dog add to the whole story. At some stage down the track I’d love to see a vlog on the history of the chateau, the families that have lived there over the centuries, what they did in the local area back when they first occupied the chateau, really I just want to know everything about this beautiful place. I admire you all for taking this huge step in your lives to follow your dreams, to live this fairytale out that at times will be hard but the fruits of your labour at the end will be well worth because I can only see success from this decision you all made. I already feel like I’ve been there just from watching and I can’t wait to see the changing seasons, I can just visualise your Xmas already. Thx for letting us into your lives. Love from Australia 🇦🇺

I have to say Maruca you did a great job with the camera ! Most ppl first time out move the camera too fast. You were perfect. So glad Penelope got her forest. I LOVE your chateau ! Thank you for another wonderful vlog. 👍
This was lovely and I really enjoyed seeing your day from morning to night in the Château. That cabinet you bought for €80 was a steal. It’s beautiful and it fits perfectly in there, good choice. I love your puppy it’s so sweet.I enjoyed the little stories you all had to share it helped to get to know you better. I got a chuckle regarding the wines because I do the same thing when I go shopping.😊 you are all inspiring how proactive you are. I haven’t seen your dad is he coming soon or is he there already? Have a wonderful weekend and thank you for sharing your day with all of us.💕🌈🇨🇦
I can see that there are so many reasons for you all to fall in love with Puy Vidal. It was so nice to here your mom and sister's point of view and I think they expressed themselves in a lovely personal way. Looking forward to seeing you all make your mark on the Chateau, and the many discoveries to come.
Great video, btw, always check old wooden furniture for wood worm, you don't want to introduce anything to the chateau and invest in 4 wheel dollies, it makes moving furniture so much easier on the back.
I like the ‘Day in the Life’ type of videos especially for someone living in a chateau! It’s not something I’ll ever get to experience so I find it fascinating. I loved hearing about how magical the space is even from the first moment of visiting. I’m looking forward to seeing what workshops you might have in the future and hopefully someday I may be able to join one.
This was really nice. Didn't know I needed it, but it was quite enjoyable. When you are able. A small tour of your nearest town would be so nice. Always nice to place where you are by what is closest to you. Loved the linen table setting. Such nicely pared colors. That cabinet is stunning. As each piece was added it became more and more amazing. What a steal. Amazing bargain.
Well this is a reminder life is for living, what a stunning adventure you are all on and what a place to do it. The chateau is truly stunning. Thanks for sharing with us x
Thank you so much for sharing your day. It's fab tour. Love it..Iove it!! You're living a dream....and many of us are dreaming of living....how cool is that?
this was really lovely to watch, thank you. I particularly loved the easy pace that everything happens at. There is no rush, no force. Even work seems enjoyable in such a dreamy place. I love the beauty of the big rooms , the garden view and the table spot on the terrace. I would love to see more table settings in the garden or more activities in the downstairs big rooms. That Trubadur playful dog made my day when she was jumping with joy and then follow you guys carrying the cabinets, as if she was helpful too :)). And for your sister - i love chateaus AND forest including fairies :), so i totally understand. The place is really beauty-full. Im really hoping you will show more videos of your daily lives like this in the future.
You have the most beautiful chateau and gardens. It is truly magical. You put together a very enjoyable video and I hope you have the internet very soon. The dream of a magical forest was so lovely because it seems like this move has fulfilled each of your dreams and to be able to do that and be a family living together is the best. Enjoy!

What an extraordinary life you have all embarked upon! Thank you for taking the time to share this with us. I would love to see more episodes like this. Even snippets would suffice.
Magnificent! Truly enjoyed viewing your day, life and journey. Thank you for sharing a glimpse of Chateau Life and May all your endeavors be successful.
🙏🏻
I enjoyed so much & you girls are so strong! Penelope loved your walk and story!
I have to say Maruca you did a great job with the camera ! Most ppl first time out move the camera too fast. You were perfect. So glad Penelope got her forest.
I LOVE your chateau ! Thank you for another wonderful vlog. 👍
😘
Thank you for your comment,. I agree that hearing more points of view is richer experience.
I loved seeing the Chateau from all your view points 🙏🏻💙
This great to know! Thank you
Really enjoying your vlog. You ladies are absolutely gorgeous!

Great video, btw, always check old wooden furniture for wood worm, you don't want to introduce anything to the chateau and invest in 4 wheel dollies, it makes moving furniture so much easier on the back.
This was such a lovely video, thank you ladies. 💖
Loved this video so much. Thanks for sharing your day with us! Linda in Wisconsin, USA
This was awesome. I really enjoyed seeing your chateau. It is a stunner. I cannot wait to see more. Thank you.
Well this is a reminder life is for living, what a stunning adventure you are all on and what a place to do it. The chateau is truly stunning. Thanks for sharing with us x

Wonderful to see people such as you guys moving into that wonderful chateau and it is now assured of a secure future
Loved getting to know the cats and dogs of the chateau! Also welcome and congrats on your knew home and Thank you for sharing all the things!
I can imagine back in the day, how they would walk the gardens.. The landscaping is fabulous 👌 👏
Anxious to see the projects come along!!
What a beautiful family! Such a great day in the life video!!
this was really lovely to watch, thank you.
Enjoy!
That’s exactly right ! Different dreams coming together
Beautiful chateau. Lovely family. Full day. See you next time.
I absolutely loved Pen's story of the Tenth Kingdom, and so glad she got her woods to walk in! A wonderful day in the life!
Also wow the ceilings are gorgeous!
You seem so calm and happy together
This was such a lovely vlog - thank you for sharing!
What a lovely video. Thank you for sharing your busy day and we enjoyed your pets as well. 🐈⬛🐄 The Chateau is gorgeous and it was nice to see all your projects coming along. 🌿⚘️🌿❤️
Pleased to meet you today! I very much enjoyed learning about your journey and your aspirations. I love the new home and vacationland to which we moved during covid - from Long Island. What a life-time ago. Our place was built in the 1940’s and the trees are about 300 years old. -Your castle life is the dream, indeed! Best wishes to you all from Philadelphia, Pa, USA! Thank you for sharing. See you again😊
Really enjoyed seeing a day in the life of the Chateau
Great vlog...thanks!!
What a beautiful cabinet. So lucky to find a reasonable person to dig the trench. Great vlog. So excited for you. Looking forward to seeing your journey and the progress made. Thanks for sharing 😍😘
Great video!!! You guys are doing an awesome job recording your life. Also love your dog. Makes me miss my border collie that we had to put down a few weeks ago. She will be a great addition to the chateau. Good luck with all your endeavours around the chateau. Will look forward to your next video.
The dog gives us great joy specially when are worn out
I lived in Charente in my younger years. If you haven’t gone to Jarnac yet make sure you do.
Love your videos🌺🌺🌺
Au revoir from Camarillo, CA.
Ha! Small world ... I'm the French teacher in the video but I used to teach French and live in Newbury Park. Still go back there every year. :)
That’s great….yes it is a small world.
I love seeing the different perspectives. What a cool group of women…
Mom is right, the ceilings are wonderful but so are the floors.
