I first visited the araa in 1978, an aunt and uncle had moved to Oulton Broad from London ; the line was still double track then, and both platforms were open. One stop down the line at Beccles, the second platform was closed at the same time as Oulton Broad South, but has since reopened as an additional passing loop.
I was surprised to see a comment on this video as it's 14 years since I uploaded it. I had forgotten that the trains were then being operated by National Express. I hope that the line thrives as it is a lovely area. I believe that the new loops have allowed an increase in the service. Thank you for watching.
Some trains are through services to London, via the Great Eastern main line. Others terminate at Ipswich which is technically the southern end of the East Suffolk line. This is my 2nd attempt at replying to your comment- I think my first try may have been stopped as I had included a web site address for your info. Try a google search on east suffolk line. M.
