Lowestoft Bascule Bridge 24.09.2017

Whilst staying in Lowestoft, I found myself in the right place at the right time to film the bascule bridge which connects the outer and inner harbour areas. Filmed on the 24th September 2017.

What I noticed is how poorly the traffic light is configured to that bridge. The light for straight on green all the time while the bridge is open and the light for going right on red while no opposing traffic was to be expected due to the same bridge.

Thanks Keith. Yes, it is quite wide - certainly quite a sight seeing the bridge lift up and then back down again. Just happened to be in the right place at the right time whilst filming some heritage buses in the area this particular day.

It is not wide

It has 3 lanes and paths on both sides. When it was completed in 1972 they thought it would last for 30 years and it was 2 lanes
