i rode to work 34 miles a day, 5 days a week for 25 years. I used normal hooked rim tyres and inner tubes all that time. I could change a punctured tube in a few minutes. A good frame fit large capacity pump was eccential, instead of one of these stupid mini pumps or cartridges that often don't work. If you have tubeless when it goes wrong, it really goes wrong. I used to carry spare tubes and even a spare folding outer tyre. No problems. I found that if you stay out of all cycle lanes, which are never cleaned and away from where people congregate, like outside shops, punctures were quite rare.
I just hope I'm not well lubricated and get a puncture, i love real ales too much, just been on 6% Bipa and a few other at a micro brewery in Cambridge and a few onther 6% ales, broughta Litre of Bipa to take home. Luckily im on the train back to Peterborough, only got 1/2 a mile to get back to station, all on cycle way, but think cycle ways could play up by not being straight they tend to wobble at lots when in well lubricated
What with the way my tyres look after only 3 months on the road there is no chance tubeless would ever work. Massive slashes all over far too large to seal with sealant or plugs, waste of time IMO
Mate I hate tubless set ups. I have a few bikes & I run tubes, I have been using tyre liners I found on Amazon years ago. I hardly ever get flats. That's with over 20k miles over the past few years. The liners cost around a fiver. Less money less mess less waste. It's a highly effective system.
Being honest I was with you until last year... I tried as an experiment.... Actually expecting to make a vlog about it... Which I never got around to.... But once I fitted decent valves it's been fine.... No known punctures.... My road bike will remain tubes though!
@PaulGreenVlog I understand. I should have also mentioned that in the past 9 months I've lost 5 and half stone. Thats a lot less weight on the tyres. No bloody wonder I'm getting a lot less flats. Hahahaha. Cheers for the videos there fun to watch.
If you’re doing London, let me know, if I’m free I’ll try to assist ……. I’m quite good at finding my way around London … spent 3 yrs learning how to! 😎
That appeared to be a lovely ride even tho cold. I bet Roy's ears were burning! 😅 Ian, congratulations on your upcoming nuptials. Does she ride bikes too? Hello Wendy!! 👋 Gracious, it seems as tho I just watched you on another video. 😊 But always a pleasure to see your smiling face. I see you're getting in extra practice for that audax Roy is going to talk you into doing. 😉 I had planned on going riding today as well, but here it is mid afternoon (southern east coast, USA) and here I am still inside. Obviously I am not nearly as dedicated a rider as you all. 😢😊 Paul, don't take the same route home that you rode going out. Don't want Ian to pick up another puncture! Enjoy the rest of your ride. 🚵♂️ 🚵♀️ 🚵
@@wendysheehan2413 -- I suspect you're right. 🥴 But even so, you'll do fine. I have faith. 👍 Of course if you really don't want to go, just tell Roy you have a relapse of your cold. 🤒

I wouldn't disagree!
Nice to see Wendy with you. You will soon change the saying from should’ve gone tubeless, to you need a tyre glider, I can highly recommend
👍👍👍👍. Hope you are well Heidi
Lovely to see you all. Congrats to Ian. Wow lots of plans. Pleased to hear no coughing Paul 👍
Yay... No coughing! We must get a ride in Gez x
You still need a tube if you blow out and get covered in gunge to get you home in the middle of a forest .
Indeed.... I still carry a tube too 😊
There’s nothing worse than getting a puncture on a cold day when you have just got warm …….GO TUBELESS YOU KNOW IT MAKES SENCE
😂😂😂
Congratulations to Ian and Wendy. 🎉❤

I wouldn't switch on my road bike.... But converting the gravel bike was an experiment really.... Surprised to say it's been OK....

Can we be that confident with tubeless. No pumps lol
Kin. A word.... No... Lol
I hope Ian is a bit more dexterous on his wedding night, than he was handling that puncture 😂😂 otherwise she'll be off
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@PaulGreenVlog I was going to mention his poor pumping action, but won't go there ...🤔🤔🤔😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
He's used to a short action......... 😂😂😂

👍 👍 👍 👍 Ians not quite 70 lol.... But then, again.....
It doesn't look good if you see someone using a mini pump from the wrong angle. 😀
