YES, EXACTLY! It's fake humility and so disappointing. I met Ricky in person a few years ago and we talked for a long time. He was so nice and spoke very well. Something about being on camera changes him and he can't freaking talk. And, something has caused him to speak as though he was just a very good rider. I guess he thinks it makes him seem humble. It's not real. And that little b@astard was THE BEST overall rider, PERIOD! He was my favorite rider for 20 years but now I can't stand to see him or hear him.

fluid from a shock on the exhaust most definitely smokes. the suspension doesn’t collapse when the fluid is gone. the compression dampening does control the rate of suspension travel in both directions, and does in a much smaller way “hold the bike up” , at least it feels that way.

Ricky is supposed to be the color guy, but he cannot separate from being the play by play race caller. You cannot be both and you need to speak really well. He doesn’t have the command of proper English and adverb conjugations to rise to the occasion and meet the demand of the job. His passive tense comes from not reading well authored books while developing his language.

He is the best commentator this sport has ever seen and he never makes a mistake and I mean never. He stands up against any sportscaster in the motorsports industry. I don't know what he's doing hanging around moto with his talents but he loves the sport. No one is more knowledgeable, the dude if you look at it is simply amazing. If Ricky Carmichael's brain works at 20 bits a second, Wiegand's brain works at a billion bytes a millisecond. that's the difference and in fact Jason is so good he even pics up the slack for substandard people like Ricky or anyone else for that matter. On top of that he is always in the pits, always around the riders, never disrespects anyone, is fair to everyone and rarely calls anyone out. Class act! He has enormous appreciation for the chance he has been given to be in the booth even though he has deserved it for like 7 years. I'm 100% with you on the Ricky videos, keep them coming and maybe they will make a change. When he says, "I feel" ....and the like, he is leaving the door open in case someone disagrees live. Then he can get out of it without being wrong (In his mind). He constantly pre-qualifies his analysis of a situations that we are looking to him for solid information on. Bush-League. He needs to take a stand and be confident while doing it. That will never happen. I like Will. For one, she is not hard to look at, and I much prefer looking at her than the Monster girls with their heavy makeup and sex symbol displays. My only dislike is her accent and only because it is a bit shrilly and hard to hear for me with my hearing loss, but otherwise, I like her. She can't help that part, so I overlook it. Plus, I am doing my best to stop judging people, Cooksey. 😁 (Ricky doesn't count)

It’s so embarrassing. I watch A LOT of sports. SX is by far the worst. From the announcers to camera angles, to showing clips during races. Not showing battles and cutting to ads right after the leaders cross the finish line. The list could go on. It’s all amateur at best and needs a massive overhaul.

I’m going to agree here. For some reason the most recent race I watched I found myself getting annoyed with Ricky’s voice to the point I almost turned it off. I decided to look past it so I could enjoy the races but Chris, you’re spot on. Not trying to put him down but he doesn’t come across comfortable in his own skin so his flavor is reminiscent of dry toast. Hopefully something will help him break past this because he has very good knowledge of the sport so the potential is there.
You better man than me because I can’t watch a race with him announcing. I haven’t been able to watch a race all year with him announcing I’d rather watch the qualifying and practice sessions.
He said he would train and become a better announcer but I haven’t noticed any improvement. I think he was better as the 3rd caller in the booth. I think Stew’s a way better option.

Sad thing is he's been at for 10 yrs or so, they've trained him to be canned and he can't pull it off. Sounds like podium interviews from kids. He wants to come across as smart but it ain't working. Not crazy about Bubba either.

Furthermore - Addendum to my earlier comment - Jason Weigandt is a consummate professional among professionals! He is the best commentator this sport has ever seen and he never makes a mistake and I mean never. He stands up against any sportscaster in the motorsports industry. I don't know what he's doing hanging around moto with his talents but he loves the sport. No one is more knowledgeable, the dude if you look at it is simply amazing. If Ricky Carmichael's brain works at 20 bits a second, Wiegand's brain works at a billion bytes a millisecond. that's the difference and in fact Jason is so good he even pics up the slack for substandard people like Ricky or anyone else for that matter. On top of that he is always in the pits, always around the riders, never disrespects anyone, is fair to everyone and rarely calls anyone out. Class act! He has enormous appreciation for the chance he has been given to be in the booth even though he has deserved it for like 7 years. He waited his turn with total respect and now hopefully he will be there for good. When's the last time you saw Ricky in the pits with a camera talking to privateers?
Ricky was the hardest rider to satisfy or to deal with in general back in the day. Overall an ass and I'm sure not much has changed.
Litteraly every single guest announcer for the 50 year pro moto was better than RC in the booth.. couldn't even watch the denver round when rc was there..
Give me Blair, weege, JT and even Emig got good his last few years

Yes, he repeats himself. Yes, there is room for improvement. But, what really irks me is at the podium at the end of the race and I have to hear the announcer ask this question to the poor rider..."What does this mean to you?". Holy crap, that question is the dumbest and most over-used question since Erin Bates asked that.. Please stop... please

Langston, Ping, Bailey, Blair, even Brayton does a great job during timed qualifying.....those guys are naturals......Ricky is awful....he just doesn't have it. You'd think he'd respect the sport enough to leave the booth....he's ruining the sport for first time viewers.

I'm 100% with you on the Ricky videos, keep them coming and maybe they will make a change. When he says, "I feel" ....and the like, he is leaving the door open in case someone disagrees live. Then he can get out of it without being wrong (In his mind). He constantly pre-qualifies his analysis of a situations that we are looking to him for solid information on. Bush-League.
He needs to take a stand and be confident while doing it. That will never happen.
I like Will. For one, she is not hard to look at, and I much prefer looking at her than the Monster girls with their heavy makeup and sex symbol displays. My only dislike is her accent and only because it is a bit shrilly and hard to hear for me with my hearing loss, but otherwise, I like her. She can't help that part, so I overlook it. Plus, I am doing my best to stop judging people, Cooksey. 😁 (Ricky doesn't count)

I dont mind ricky . We laugh about the gay slip of the tongue comments . Ricky should watch your content to get some idea of direction . Then do some training drills. . I think he rushes to speak ,he needs to slow down a bit. . I like surprise guests like emig snd js7 speaking . James cracks me up. Good honest reporting cooksey we need more of it in this era.

It’s so embarrassing. I watch A LOT of sports. SX is by far the worst. From the announcers to camera angles, to showing clips during races. Not showing battles and cutting to ads right after the leaders cross the finish line. The list could go on. It’s all amateur at best and needs a massive overhaul.
Blame Jeff Behnke! The guy is a tyrant and doesn't know nearly as much as he thinks he does,

I’m going to agree here. For some reason the most recent race I watched I found myself getting annoyed with Ricky’s voice to the point I almost turned it off. I decided to look past it so I could enjoy the races but Chris, you’re spot on. Not trying to put him down but he doesn’t come across comfortable in his own skin so his flavor is reminiscent of dry toast. Hopefully something will help him break past this because he has very good knowledge of the sport so the potential is there.
You better man than me because I can’t watch a race with him announcing. I haven’t been able to watch a race all year with him announcing I’d rather watch the qualifying and practice sessions.
He sounds noisy and too excitable.

He said he would train and become a better announcer but I haven’t noticed any improvement. I think he was better as the 3rd caller in the booth. I think Stew’s a way better option.
