7:45 bro hoow do you adjust those colours so fast .. like the blue and magenta highlights.. how to you do it so fast ? is there any tricks for doing so?
Oh my goodness, I have been using illustrator for 15+ years and have never used the width tool. I always tried to achieve that look with brushes and it didn't work well. THANK YOU, DOM!!!
Great illustration, it’s got such a nice balance. I know you did so, but worth mentioning to lock the outline layer before working on the color layer below! Can’t even count how many times….😂
You make great videos. I would just like to know how you set up your right sidebar in that way, as it has been a while since I used illustrator and I don't remember how to mess with it.
Hey Tom. Thx for your videos,I saw a lot and worked on the side. Why did you use the circle tool and split it in half, when you also can use the pen tool for a half circle ?
7:45 bro hoow do you adjust those colours so fast .. like the blue and magenta highlights.. how to you do it so fast ? is there any tricks for doing so?
Should I use brush tool to fill the areas with colour? It seems less time consuming. Also, we can paint shadows and highlights with the same technique onto another layer. I have a graphic tablet, so I feel this is much easier.
@4:41 i never understood that logic. Why make a layer for color and do all that effort of the traced layer? Why not keep it all in the same layer? What is the advantage of your approach?
@@DomDesigns I m just trying to understand this more. If I trace it, I have a "stroke". And then i can add the "fill" as the color. It just seems a longer process. Thats why I am asking to learn more on this.
I can not understand your coloring method, how can you able to color it with stroke shown underneath, when I try to color it, it just hide the image under the color, and then deleting remaining color with shape builder. If any one understand it please let me know .
I try to save everything as a JPG at 72 DPI which is standard for digital. Just make sure you have a 1080x1080 px file to begin with :) (Its for instagram)

You can use the shape builder tool to color as well. I find it much easier than any other coloring method.
I just wanted to say the same thing. To much time is gone colored with pan tool.
Yeah,, Actually it very wasy more other option
wow ive been looking for easy color tutorial in illustrator. thank you for this
is there any video available regarding it ? Please let me know
It's definitely easier, but I've been experiencing a situation where the shape Builder adds more anchor points to my outlines.

Hello there, do you have any video about the pen tool ? how do you use the pen tool without connecting the ending point, need to learn that.
All you have to do is change tool and click on the pen tool again to create a new line without having to connect!
wow, it is the most useful video what I watched
Glad to hear that!
How can you get the colors on the side like on 5:31?

Thank you very much!!
How did you connect the path with the pen tool at his trunk? The steps after his head.
@4:41 i never understood that logic. Why make a layer for color and do all that effort of the traced layer? Why not keep it all in the same layer?
What is the advantage of your approach?
The advantage is that you can then add your shadows and highlights behind the stroke layer. You can also easily select to change colours :)
@@DomDesigns I m just trying to understand this more.
If I trace it, I have a "stroke". And then i can add the "fill" as the color. It just seems a longer process. Thats why I am asking to learn more on this.
Try the live paint tool to apply your colours. It's faster and more precise. You already have the shapes, why draw them again.
Check out my recent videos and I have adapted that idea :)
I just want this youtube channel to appear more in my feed...
You got a like more of the videos for it to appear on your feed! 😊

not know , but just know you've affected my life, and apparently tens of thousands of others, in an imnsely positive way. Thank you

how do you save your work for the best quality?
I try to save everything as a JPG at 72 DPI which is standard for digital. Just make sure you have a 1080x1080 px file to begin with :) (Its for instagram)
could we have the sketch file for practicing?
You can easily take a screen shot off my video :)
hi, how to make the strokes curve in shape? I need some help in that
You can use the pen tool or just draw a straight line and curve it with the curvature tool :)
Add tutorial of eggplant illustration
Instead of the width tool, I've been using the expand command.
Hi

How to save ai file correctly. Plz help me.
File, Save As, Save to Ai 😊

When i was use pentool,,the cursive line never smooth :( , but yo do very well
If you feel the desire in your gut to increase the money you’re making with your art, listen to it! I think you’ve got potential.
I just learned curvature tool is not SHIFT + ' , its SHIFT + `
