    Very interested in the testing on the truck. I'm definitely waiting on this to go my route for my build truck. The work trucks at lower HPs with upgrades to do that work are great,but very interested in your future experiments. Gotta like Rob for his real world thought process.

    Great video Rob! The 350hp I agree with when towing, clean and still more than enough pick up and go with a trailer on. Would love more in depth as far as tips and tricks for tuning and such to keep egt’s down. I had cranked my pump up a bit using your videos but had to go back down a fair bit due to egt’s climbing as fast as my boost gauge

    Great Video Rob!! The problems start when you exceed the max horsepower rated for the factory engine specs, the Stock engine is built to with stand only the rated horsepower after that you are on your own and like you said and well put.Stick to your brand of video Rob, you have great content, if anyone wants more, there are channels that use Dyno's to show actual horsepower gains by product additions, not by unfounded horsepower statements.

      i will be doing dyno pulls and loads when i buy mine, dyno is a tool for testing more then numbers ( as most guys use them for ) but you are right they are designed to run the stockish power

  • @savagefabrication795

    Agreed. I had the power hungry side of it for awhile and finally separated the hp hungry side from the use of the truck side. The tow rig is a 400hp/900tq 97 smoke free 97 and the trailer queen is a dedicated pull truck that I would never street drive due to the injection pump manners being horrible lol. And a drag strip build on a 94 that has no need for any daily amenities or stress if it fails. Correct on new dodge whp numbers. I have dynoed new rigs along with other dyno operators I know and they average 280-330 wheel. So gives you a idea of what kinds cooling system is required to support that power output at 100% duty cycle. Or just go look at a semi. :) great video.

    • @savagefabrication795
      @savagefabrication795 Рік тому

      @@MarcoRodriguez-lr2xt grind the fuel plate to a 0 plate (flat)
      Push it all the way to the radiator
      Afc housing all the way to radiator
      Loosen the star wheel until it has a slight haze
      You can leave the pre boost adjustment where it’s at. “It usually will just increase smoke output pre boost”
      And that will normally net a free 30-80 whp. Depending on the oem calibration of your pump.
      You can add in timing as well but without the correct tools your just kinda guessing. It helps a lot but, it’s something you don’t really want to mess up.

    I found that with a manual trans, if you drop a gear and get the rpm’s up the truck runs cooler. When I had my 362sxe it is most efficient at 2300-2500 rpm. I was pulling a massive hill with a 14k trailer on a 95 degree day. at 1800 rpm coolant temp and EGT’s started climbing. I dropped a gear to 2500rpm and coolant and egt dropped. I held 1000 EGT’s and coolant down under 200. The higher rpm makes the fan spin harder and more coolant and oil flow.

I don’t tow everyday I’m a rancher that hauls cows up and down steep mountain roads and the extra torque will come in handy

    Interesting I not a hot rod guy but I don't have any thing against it for guys who want to . Me I just want to tow and I think my old 12 valve is probably close to 300ish hp which is a decent towing rig or will be as soon as I get the G56 installed . I tow with is and I was having a heat problem when I towed to Colorado a couple of years ago but I installed a new Mishimoto radiator and fresh coolant now it seems to stay cooler . I have not done the coolant by pass but I need to . My truck get decent mileage as I don't tow fast and that really helps . Sir I really appreciate your videos . I been towing a lot lately and lost lock up in my convertor the last trip that really chapped me as I not a fan of automatics .
