This is not really designed to be an end device access point. This is generally used to connect other Point to Point devices with - to create a Point to Multi Point. You could use it as an access point, but remember the weak link in the chain is the connecting device. This access point can handle connections up to about 3 - 5km, but your mobile or laptop will only do about 100m at best, so it will really depend on what you are trying to achieve. I hope this helps.
Need to reflash for openwrt if you want to use it as a normal AP with laptops and phones. It works amazing for this- I cover 120k sq ft outdoors with 100-300mbps connections throughout from 50ft agl mount point.
Clients can connect directly to this from their phones, correct?
