George was not the first, but is probably the most obvious and blatant example of what people have known and said for decades.
A black man, already handcuffed, outnumbered by 4 officers, was strangled to death over 8 minutes, while others who were trying to stop it from happening, were basically stopped by those armed officers.
What is the alternative message? Should bystanders intervene if they see police brutality like that? In what way? Should a "good guy with a gun" have stopped those bad guys with guns?

I agree 100 percent that we should definitely stand up and be advocates for black people, but can't we do it more peacefully??? Destroying peoples property is not the way to end racism. There is literally no point in punishing people that did nothing wrong. Instead, can't we just do it but be less violent? Besides, more people will show up to these protests if it is safer.
