“The godly may trip seven times, but they will get up again.
But one disaster is enough to overthrow the wicked.
Don’t rejoice when your enemies fall;
don’t be happy when they stumble.
For the Lord will be displeased with you
and will turn his anger away from them.
Don’t fret because of evildoers;
don’t envy the wicked.”
Proverbs 24: 16-19 NLT - Навчання та стиль
We're glad that you're enjoying 2601! Thanks for picking one up. -Logan
Scaletrains just launched the N scale version of 2601 today! I'm an HO scaler and picked up one of their Conrail GP30s with plans to renumber it to 2233 to match the one at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania.
My favorite train UA-camr gets stuff from my favorite local train store *gasp*
How cool to have a locomotive with such a family connection. Enjoy it.
You should make a video about playing in the yard
That's really neat to have a model of a loco you know and love. You'll have to make a small HO loop for her to run on!
Great looking model for sure! Lombard hobbies is one of my go to hobby shops for trains. They are local to me and are super helpful and have all the DCC stuff
Awesome. I loved the full scale/HO comparison shots. Bonus dad points for bringing your son's favorite locomotive home.
If you look for desktop anti-static there are some very affordable brushes to gently remove lint from your trains and also ionizer fans for area control. That might help take your excellently composed shots to the next level of "is it real or a model?"
I understand your affinity for the 2601. I had a strong affinity for the “Big Boy 4014” as my parents would take us to the “LA County Fair” every year to see not only the fair, but all the trains. The large outdoor garden railway, the huge HO layout (indoors) under the racetrack grandstands and of course, the 4014 out on the north side of the racetrack. I got to climb on it many, many times! Great memories!!
And, like you, I have both the Kato and BLI versions, in N scale!
I remember taking a ride on this beaut when I was over in spencer! It was slow ride, but fulfilling, and it was quite a beautiful engine.
Hi Jimmy , I’m also an N Scaler and I’m hoping that do it in n scale keep your fingers crossed. I have visited the NCTM years ago and enjoyed very much. There is a lot of history there. Thanks for sharing. 😎😎 👍
NICE! Ya get away without weathering this one, Jimmy. Shiny all the time😊🚂🇨🇦🇺🇲🙋
Great video Jimmy! I would not be surprised if Scale Trains put this out in N scale in the next couple years.
Isn’t that cool!!! I’ve got 4 locomotives that I have seen and been on. I love it!! You and your family enjoy!!!
I work at the NCTM in visitor services. I preordered this locomotive as soon as it was announced. This is by far my favorite model train I own. We appreciate your membership!
Very cool! Its always neat to purchase a model of a locomotive that means alot to you and your family! I know for me, that special locomotive (which would be Frisco 1522) hasn't been produced yet (except in brass), although, Broadway Limited Imports has all but confirmed in recent comments that it is in the works!
That's very cool! And I was smiling ear to ear seeing the loop on the floor just like when we were kids! There isn't a better way to keep in touch with your inner child!
Very Cool! With a few exceptions like the Big Boy, NP765 in my area, and a few other vintage survivors, do you get to actually compare the real prototype with the model. Really did a nice job, and it looks like it runs as well as it looks.
Beautiful locomotive.
I couldn't believe the Southern loco Nº 6133 in your video. I have an identical model Nº 2925 on my layout. It is a Life Like model. Never heard of them. The stupid part is that I am not a fan of American locos, I live in Portugal and bought this loco through ebay in the UK. It made me feel pretty good to see the real thing right where you live.
I feel the same way, I worked on 2601 some during my time as a volunteer at NCTM
That’s cool :)
2:15 This is the first I've seen imagery of the Norfolk Southern passenger cars. I have an MTH ho set that I thought was a fantasy scheme until now. I'd love to know more about them.
Jimmy, great video! I have a very similar locomotive in my collection. My first purchase, and in many ways the inspiration for the rebirth of my interest in the hobby. Mine is a Athearn Genesis EMD GP 38-2 road number 5025. Its not the EXACT same number, but the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum in Chattanooga, TN runs number 5000 on their system. It is also a retired Southern locomotive and is wearing the Southern "Tuxedo" scheme, both prototype and my model. :-) Its pretty amazing to go see "my" locomotive in action and it adds a visceral connection to my model RR that is hard to describe. Because in some intangible way ... its real.
Not N scale, but I don't care. Cool video! My daughter is in North Carolina, and we may make the trip to Spencer someday. Seems worth the 2 1/2 hour trip.
Cool Jimmy. And I love the NC transportation museum
It looks neat, but i admit im not a fan of the high hoods
I feel your dilemma.
But that's a nice model.👍
Hi there, do you know if there's an N scale model version of the 2601 available?
You're going to spend the extra $$$ to upgrade to DCC so it can run around a loop? Why wouldn't you just have gotten with DCC/sound to begin with? It's almost always more expensive buying separate components to go from DCC-ready to DCC-equipped.
Im actually planning on building a proper HO scale layout. I am going to put a $45 digitrax sound decoder in it. Digitrax has a good GP30 sound project. With a speaker, It will save me about $40 over a DCC equipped one.
@@DIYDigitalRailroad I've tried Digitrax sound decoders and found them very poor compared to Soundtraxx, ESU, and TCS.
They have used the wrong shade pf yellow - it is too light.
That is probably differences in my photography. Rather than the actual model.
Oh no Jimmy say it's not true, this is just beginning of you going to the dark side
Oh don’t worry. I just had 3 N scale locos arrive in the mail today.
That's great catastrophe avoided 👍👍
Don’t see any industries
1:03 why did to only just now show a photo of you,re son? Why not before, and why not later!
