- Metal Wani's Fernando Bonenfant had a chat with ILL NINO frontman Cristian Machado at London, UK.
He discusses the ongoing European tour, memories of the debut album released on 9/11, how they established a mark on the metal scene by introducing Caribbean tribal influences, why fans were open minded about change in musical direction and plans to write a new album this year.
He also talks about difficulties in working with different producers in the past, whether the band will write an album that sounds like the earlier fan favorites, his opinion on NU METAL being 'exploratory' genre, the objective behind the genre and why most of the bands are not pushing the boundaries of this genre.
He throws light on how ILL NINO never tried to copy Nu Metal bands, why he respects SUICIDE SILENCE to change the sound and move towards Nu Metal sound, why it's good for different genres in heavy metal to evolve, plans to tour more in 2017 and more.

Finally someone who acknowledge nu metal as more than just limp Bizkit shit. It seems like all metalheads and metal community is dumb and pretentious and think that talking shit about the genre makes the smart when in actuality they dumb fucks. Christian Machado is smart , legitimate , sincere , and artistic and is aware of nu metal without shamelessly ripping off what korn did like so many "nu metal" bands
