  • A Hegner Polycut or Polymax 3 Scroll Saw. he name varies but same top of the range Hegner. This one might be 20 years old and although it needed a tune up, it doesn't look much used. Made a boderless victorian gingerbread bracket as a simple project. There is a separate video of many different gingerbread designs on my channel. I usually wear a glove on my right hand but swapped over for the video, worked ok but made the quick release harder to open and tighten. Also redused he sound of the machine as it was just a little to noisy for the video. I never use the hold down arm so that's not on the saw. Writing this I remeber now that one of the main issues I had was that someone had tightened up the arm too much which made the tension rod mal function and broke lots of blades. The quick release holder was about £20 and is way easier with a grippy glove. The thumb turn or knurled thumb turn is just a couple of pounds on ebay and was well worth replacing since the original didn't reach the block. And I had to saw it off.
The saw itself is nothing like the multicut 2. It weighs 39 kg which is somewhat impractical. I paid £200 for it on ebay. Surprisingly no one else wanted it. Knowing what you're looking at I guess. Kd.
