THANK YOU Kev and Angel for breaking down how dementia affects a person. My mother has it along with aphasia and can no longer speak. It pisses me off to see how ignorant and unlearned ppl can be about alot. To say Wendy should be nicer to her assistant when she has no control over what she's saying is just stupid.
Sorry sis, my mom has vascular dementia and paralyzed on the left side after 26 strokes. It ain't getting better, just hang in and love. That's all that's left. ✊🏾💕
Being a care taker of someone with Dementia can be a lot. My aunt was my grandmother’s caretaker before we learned that she was physically abusing her and stealing from her (let’s just say the inheritance is gone). Inasmuch when we found this out I had a lil talk with my aunt and she literally said that my grandmother knew what she was doing. I lost it and went clean off on her and told her she would have to answer for this. We later had to put my grandmother in a home and let’s just say my grandmother buried her daughter and she died years later at 100 years old. Stay strong ladies and I’ll pray for you both.

As someone who watched the entire Where is Wendy doc just want to bring details to a few nuanced things:
1) Doctor's told them she had ALCOHOL induced dementia. People keep comparing Bruce Willis to Wendy. I believe Bruce had a stroke that induces his aphasia and dementia. Wendy's dementia is caused by her Alcohol abuse. I think that's why at the end of the doc when her sister talked to Wendy, Wanda said it's like the old Wendy is back (in the treatment facility I'm sure Wendy isn't allowed to drink)
2) Wendy's son admitted that Wendy made up for her absence and drinking by buying him things and letting him have whatever he wants.
This doc was a very hard watch but it did bring to light that cracks in Guardianships without family and those enablers that were around her have reportedly been fired. Hopefully, her Dad and her son and maybe an Ad Litem (not sure if there is one for adults) can become guardians in light of all of this.
I need more people to read this comment, because I believe she was being granted access to alcohol in order for the alcohol-induced dementia to kick in, so that the guardianship could be justified.
From what I understand, alcohol induced dementia still has the same affects on the brain, its root cause is just alcohol instead of head trauma or strokes. I think people compare the two because they are looking at how Bruce Willis's family is handling his illness vs the people around Wendy.
There is a difference between alcohol induced dementia (mentioned while they were filming the documentary) and aphasia/frontotemporal dementia (released by care team right before the documentary aired) they likely had to release this FTD diagnosis cause if not - there would have been several clinicians and scientists screaming “this ain’t just alcohol”
Causes of FTD are not known (there are some theories that it is connected to some genes)
Important to know the diagnose and prognosis so that the appropriate treatment and care can be given.
This matters.
For your loved ones make sure your care team digs in to actual diagnoses. We all deserve the right care.

When you were talking about dementia, I was reminded of my great grandma. She would be talking to me, knowing it's me, but telling me about something that happened years before I was born like it had happened yesterday. It was a heartbreaking experience, but you kinda have to pretend that everything's fine when talking to them. And, yes, Angel, she also thought people were stealing her socks when they would come to wash them 😅
Wendy said in an interview a while ago (when she was still alert) that she would have her son order door dash l/uber eats for her because she didn’t want to put her actual address in their system. So her son wasn’t just getting food for himself

my friend's grandmother was MAD that people were stealing her clothes, and we assumed she was wrong, but then in an unexpected visit to the care facility, there were PEOPLE WEARING HER CLOTHES! a person there who was supposed to wash the clothing of the residents was selling it. New Items that were purchased and worn once would go to wash, and never come back to her, she was selling it to people who didn't have access to stores.. I'm sorry it happens, but sometimes those people are correct.

What happened to Wendy isn't karma, it's consequences of her actions and no one caring and stepping in. This is a reality for a lot of good people out there who struggle, HOPEFULLY this brings light to that.
It's so sad about Wendy, it's a huge call for everyone to setup their finances, living conditions, WILL, etc. while you're still in good health because you can't count on relationships/family to look out for you.

It’s best to watch the whole thing because they explain it. Her sister was interviewed later in the documentary and u see why they released the documentary to show how the guardianship messed her up. Basically the family wanted the public to see this so she can be returned to her family. Also there’s allegations that the guardian and the judge that appointed the lady are shady

You really have to see the whole Wendy Williams documentary. At the end of episode 4 you see more of her interaction with her family. They hadn’t seen her in a year after the guardian ordered her to leave her family in FL and go to NY. We see Wendy look directly into her brother Tommy’s face and call him Kevin, her son’s name. And her sister speaks out about she was denied guardianship.

My aunt was 62 when she died from dementia…my aunt couldn’t remember that she had just talked to you on the phone, she would ask you the same question over and over and she definitely wouldn’t get mad with you easily but she still knew who I was and my granddaughter was the last time I saw her before it quickly got worse
I really wished Kevin Jr. went to New York with his mom. The only thing keeping him in Miami was school and he can easily get that transferred to another school in New York. I know he’s just a kid but he’s literally all Wendy has and he should have sacrificed the Miami life to be by his moms side everyday.
I honestly think her family doesn't want to be the ones committing 💯 to Wendy everyday. IMO, the doc showed me her family hasn't done much of any just a lot of complaining.

The son, neice, and nephew were looking out for Wendy. The "suspicious" charges occured when she was in Florida, the son was just giving her the lifestyle that she was accustomed to. Her family is not allowed to contact her, but she can contact them. The manager, publicist, and guardian are the ones taking advantage of her. Kev, im gone need to you to clean this up after you watch all 4 episodes and do a little more research.
