I get excited every time I get notified that you have a new video out. Stunning work as usual. I love how you deal with mistakes and the result is just great. Inspirational work.
Very beautiful build and it’s amazing to be able to work that wood. I can’t believe someone would choose those handles though. It makes it look like your run of the mill dressers from the 90’s. To the unknowing eye it’s not to distinguishable. I’m not detracting from your work at all by saying that, your an amazing craftsman who makes my work look like child’s play. I’m just like man wth with the handles lol. It’s like putting steel wheels on a Ferrari. 😂
Very nice piece of furniture Joey I do like the work you do and I always pick up something new .I am predominantly a wood turner but the boss sometimes want something for her office or studio .So I do get out the hammer and nails sometimes Thank you keep it up Mate
Just about to make a chest of drawers from reclaimed chest nut I’m going to steal some of the details great work lovely work from oxford England 🏴
Turned out good as, going to have a look at that wipe on Min Wax poly, looks really nice. I remember using heart Rimu in the late 90's for kitchen doors, we used to burn or throw away anything with a knot or sap... man if I could go back...
Another work of art Joey! Absolutely beautiful, your craftsmanship shows through the entire piece. Great video also, just love watching you build, truly inspirational.
Nice. I quite liked the drawer front edge detail created by a panel raising bit. Creates a bit of depth along with a smooth transition between drawer front and carcass. 👍
Hey Joey, did my joinery app in Putaruru in the 70s . Wow we used to have rimu, totara and kauri, for windows and doors. Sadly most of the beautiful grained timber got painted, although l did some beautiful furniture, very similar to your tallboys. No fancy metal drawer slides those days aye.
That wood resembles the sabino soft wood here in southern Mexico. It is a tree that grows right on the banks of rivers, enormous trees. Illegal to fell too.
Great work as always. Such a shame the client wanted that hardware and the angle work on the drawer front and top. I'm actually doing a rimu table right now. Not worked with it before and finishing it with Danish because I thought it would get the colour better but your poly has really brought out the grain nicely.
Hey Joey just a suggestion, I forgot to say there could be an issue gluing base xgrain to sides. If you attach the base to a subframe (frame and panel without the panel) and attach subframe to allow for float, you won’t have that issue it’s all long grain gluing. Also eliminates need for rabbet. Apologize if I missed something it looked like that’s what you did. Cheers.
Great as Usual Joey. Looks like a very nice wood to work, shame it's all but gone. My Tip for the day.. Super glue and sawdust. I normally use the standard PVA, but will try your trick next time I need to ;D
How could you add a stop so the drawer doesn't come out all the way on a regular basis but be easily removed to fully take the drawer out if needed. Thanks for another great build video.
Another flawless build Joey! But I'm curious as to why you didn't clear out the dovetails for the drawer dividers with the router like you did the case?
Didn’t know you Changed from Kingpost to Joey Chalk.I thought you kicked me off the channel for not watching in a while. As always love the power and hand tool mix.Merry Christmas Pal.
very nice thanks for sharing. was curious by gluing all four corners of the web frame and also the web frame to the carcass how will this react to the expansion and contraction of the carcass during seasonal changes.
Yea I know it's not wonderful, hence a small amount of glue. My money is on it not going too far. But we will see. Worse case is I think that the plinth will fall off.
really nice project and a great video. Is anyone else finding a lot of it is out of focus slightly? watching on full screen at 720 and it's looking a bit blurry in parts
Excellent dresser build. Love the look of the dowels on the draw sides!
Beautiful job -- beautiful wood. Thanks, Joey.
I get excited every time I get notified that you have a new video out. Stunning work as usual. I love how you deal with mistakes and the result is just great. Inspirational work.
Thank you
The dowels are a very attractive alternative to the usual drawer front joinery. Nice
I love it how joey is telling us about his mistakes, and often its happens with the glue up 😄👍
Love seeing you use the plane and the scrapers - leaves such a great finish.
Great looking build.

Can’t beat that veritas sharpening guide for super sharp chisels!👊👊
Awesome job Joey, the figure and colors in this wood is incredible and the drawers gotta love the perfect fit. Incredible craftsmanship my friend.

Nice work. I love it when you use solid timber

Beautiful job Joey!
That wood resembles the sabino soft wood here in southern Mexico. It is a tree that grows right on the banks of rivers, enormous trees. Illegal to fell too.
Beautiful! You kick ass Joey.
There's not a lot of people who would use dovetails to join everything. It's becoming a dying art. Well done. Beautiful work.
Thanks

Another great video and beautiful end result. Cheers bro!

Nice to see another video from you. Any word on where I can purchase a KingPost Timberworks zip up yet?
really nice project and a great video. Is anyone else finding a lot of it is out of focus slightly? watching on full screen at 720 and it's looking a bit blurry in parts
Probably my fault. Trying to focus with dusty everything
Wow, very nice!
impressive
sacré boulot ! Bravo.
is it incredibly nerve-wracking to work with such valuable and irreplaceable material? because i was getting anxiety just watching...
It can be. Only after I make a mistake haha
Well done Joey. Enjoy your builds. How many hours do you think it took you for each one.
Hmm around 30hrs each
very nice!
Gorgeous work as always, Joey. Will the Rimu oxidize and darken over time, the way American cherry does?
