Complexity is an enemy of performance. Android 10 is much more complex than previous Androids and that's the reason why major OS upgrades will slow down old devices since they are coded to utilize the most recent hardware available and the old ones lacking the needed hardware acceleration will end up doing things in software mode instead. This is not only observable in smartphones but with PC and Macs as well. OS increases complexity over time, not the other way around.

Within 1 year (under warranty), the charging port went bust and needed replacement, at least wireless charging worked till the port was replaced free of cost. Within 1.5 years (after warranty), screen started flickering today. A quick search and it turns out there are quite a few others with the same issue who have been asked to pay around INR 18k for replacement. Some believe its a software issue. Even if its a hardware issue, its quite disappointing for a premium device touted for its quality and display. My Galaxy S5 lasted 5 years. I had so much confidence in Samsung that I bought a TV and refrigerator from them as well. This device though has been rife with problems within such a short time. This shatters my confidence in Samsung's quality and commitment to customers especially since they are being asked to pay for something that is a design flaw (software or hardware). In short, definitely don't buy Samsung's note 9 if you want to use it after a year when your warranty expires. Probably don't buy any other phones from them because you might end up in a situation like this in future. Likely don't buy anything else from them because this casts doubt on their quality and commitment. P.S. I would possibly be copy pasting my experiences at other places too. I have yet to visit their customer care centre and I might update this based on my experience with them there.
I have a friend that has a Galaxy S5 since they came out, and has never had any problems with it, and refuses to upgrade. I just wished I had studied the Note 9 before I purchased it. I guess I will use it until it breaks. I'm certainly not an Apple fan. Samsung destroyed the Note 4 with their updates!
@@paradiseadams6320 I never had any issues with the S5 either and I assumed it to be hallmark of the quality of Samsung flagship phones. I wish I didn't make that logical jump. Because it would be plain stupid to spend that much and then have an unsable phone after a year.

Wow sorry to hear that. I have 3 galaxy note 9 and all of them are great. Good luck on your phone hunting
@@TheTechPreacher honestly man a phone is supposed to be a tool to not worry about.. like its becoming like a burger. Its doesn't last long but it was good when it was still a "good" burger
Happened to my girlfriends note 9 today. If there is no fix this is the last samsung phone I will buy.
Pretty sure I am not going to go for another Samsung phone in future unless they man up and replace this without such exorbitant costs. Because it would be plain stupid to spend that much and then have an unsable phone after a year.
samsung was sued in an european country for also slowing down phones same as happened to apple. these companies are looking for the easiest way to make more profits. i usually dont like updating my phone. the only thing i update is pc, since if it gets problem i can just reinstall a new one. i have an old iphone 5s and it works perfectly. those jokers at apple want me to update. lol.
@@truthseeker6804 - You know what, I still have my iPhone 5s in a drawer that I kept when I upgraded to a 6 plus, because I wanted a larger screen. My iPhone 5s was the best phone I ever had, it was just so tiny, and I'm wearing eyeglasses now. I never had any problems with it like people are saying they never had any problems with the Galaxy s5. I think the Galaxy s5 is bigger than the iPhone 5s. I wish I had gotten a Galaxy s5! That if I could have found one.
This happened to my s9plus overheating and display issues
Wow
Same with me
Same with the s9
Thanks for the info
Thankyou so much for the heads up
I was about to sell my s9 thinking there was something wrong with the screen.
Take care man, cheers.
@@god7slayer bro! Anything up with the screen problem?
jithin valavath I just threw it and bought an iPhone! The update was just useless.
The left one is a little bit higher in brightness thats why its hotter a little bit
Huh nah come on stop it 😂 brah the excuses I see sometimes is unreal wow. Thanks for watching tho
Lol I have tested it with low brightness and it's the same thing. I've already did it and it's the same so sorry wrong answer
So you don't get what's behind door number 2 lol I'm just having fun no offense lol
That is great information, I bet samsung will just say its okay its operating within normal temps.
Thanks for watching
Dang, note 9 busted after upgraded!
Thanks for watching
Watching now with an n9 with busted and hot display...
Oh yeah PS the Samsung likes to be secret squirrel about everything I've tried to deal with them in the past on the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 I think it was a note 7 anyways whatever phone was discontinued I had to ship it back and they gave me out a new phone they were going to do a credit but I said well if you can't fix it then just credit me my money or you know just do whatever but I got through Verizon helped out with that.
Very time I video call someone my phone gets soo hot that the battery dies faster even after I ended the call my phone stays hot

@@TheTechPreacher ur welcome bruvv😇.. hey bro, i just want to ask if NOV Update is the latest patch for Android 10..
Samsung tells you that buy new samsung, and that is working well
Yep
My note 9 is horrible now with the yellow screen and horizontal lines. Good bye Samsung!
Thanks for watching
On the other thing is Samsung's being shady also they ditched their cloud service and there was that was a whole reason I left LG cell phones is to go to a Samsung cloud service cuz I kept hearing all those great stuff about their cloud service and now they're ditching it to get you to go to Microsoft not cool I freaking hate Microsoft
Yes I had note 9 not one year yet for now I have to change new screen the screen burn-in so disappointed With sumsung.
Wow
Never had an issue with that but my note 8 had a slight burn on the screen barely noticeable
Stop turning the brightness up to 100%
20% to 50% should keep the screen from note burning
Brother got same issue on his Galaxy s9 plus 256gb and it's sooooooooo bad
Same issue here in my note 9 screen 🔥 burning problem why samsung make this cheating my money 💰 is waste
Mine started after the May update
Yeah it sucks
I have it with android 10 and it really has heating and touching issues... scamsung own crapynos
Yeah
Samsung, fix this or I will start a campaign to move people to Apple products. 100 to 1500 dollar phones and you think you can play games with us? We'll see about that. BOYCOTT SAMSUNG NOW!!!!!
Not 9 screen yellow
