Everybody gets pretty testy since it takes so long to cook the bird, and they wound up throwing peas and cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes and gravy all over each other. At the end, Diane (covered in cranberry sauce) tells Sam that she will get revenge when he's not expecting it -- and goes to get the pumpkin pie. At that moment, the doorbell rings -- it's Vera. Norm greets her off-camera. As he brings her to meet everybody, Diane throws the pie at Sam, who ducks: and that's the ONLY time we see Vera -- with a pumpkin pie in her face.

Thanks Facts Verse! I loved the series Cheers 💗 Btw, I hope this blesses someone... What ever hardship you are going through, please know God has not forgotten you, He loves you and is there for you. Just turn to Him. Did you know that God loves you very much? You are His precious creation. He knows everyhing about you, the good and the bad. God desires you to come and talk to Him and for you to find rest and peace in Him. God created you to love and for you to love him. He wants you to spend eternity in Heaven with Him. That is why he sent His Son Jesus Christ to save you. Jesus paid your sin debt by willingly dying in our place. Now that is true love! Jesus is alive...He conquered death and he is coming back very soon. Please receive Jesus Christ as your Savior today...He is the one & only Way to Heaven. WHAT TO DO: Just go to Jesus Christ with a humble heart, repent and put your trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, committing your life to Jesus. AN EXAMPLE PRAYER: Jesus Christ, I come to you a sinner, I repent of living my life away from you and ask for your forgiveness. I believe you are the Son of God, that you went to the cross, died in my place, paying my sin debt and that you were buried & rose on the 3rd day to everlasting life. Jesus, right now, I choose to receive you as my Lord and my Savior, trusting in you alone for my salvation. I surrender my life to you and ask for your will to be done. I invite your Holy Spirit to come into my heart to make me more like you. Thank you for your forgiveness. Thank you for filling me with the Holy Spirit and for your gift of eternal life in Heaven. Amen! NOW WHAT: Being a Christian is all about relationship. You grow in your relationship with God as you spend time with Him, in your Bible, in prayer, in time of worship and praise. I suggest reading the gospel of John first, and then read the books that apostle Paul wrote, Romans through Philemon.
I am firmly convinced that Cheers is the best US Sitcom there has ever been. I grew up on it the first time around and have watched it from start to finish many times over the decades. Its truly a remarkable achievement to have 11 seasons set almost exclusively in just one room. The writing and jokes are as funny to me now as they were almost 40 years ago. Its near perfection imo, I much preferred the Sam and Diane period over the Sam and Rebecca period but it still continued its high quality even after Diane had departed. Its easily my top US sitcom, plus Lilith was always hot !
Remains one of my favourite series ever. My favourite character: Carla. Unforgettable. I can only aspire to be as iconic a grump. But she was REAL. And HONEST. Second choice: Frasier. He's a genius.
I remember a Cheers special(which I have taped on VHS) where the entire cast was there, including Roger Rees's Robin Colcorde, despite the fact he was always guest cast. Not a knock, js. Anyway, when Rhea Perlman was discussing Carla, and why she was so mean, Rhea said, calmly(lol):"I don't think she's mean, I think she's real." Also, when asked if everybody likes Carla(one of the people asking questions asked this), you heard assorted "Yeah"s. George Wendt then said(to everybody's laughter):"You have to!", lol!
And Cliff takes Diane aside, and tells her the whole thing was b.s., he'd never taken a defense class in his life, and he'd need her assistance to get to a hospital. While the others are marveling over Cliff's feat, you see Diane struggling her way up the stairs, with Cliff(very obviously a mannequin in a U.S.P.S. uniform) draped over her shoulder, lol!
@@FactsVerse definitely "I'll be Seeing you" part 2. When Sam opens the portrait and says "wow". That episode was a perfect mix of comedy mixed w pathos. The greatest sitcoms are the ones that can add in a little melodrama and not lose the overall tone of the show. Second fav is when Sam gives Coach the pep talk when Coach is having a hard time telling his daughter that her fiance is a bum. When Sam says "Go get em Coach" and after the talk Coach says "Sam, I got em!". 😭😭😭 My goodness. That whole interaction felt so genuine . ❤️
To me the most interesting fact about Cheers was that after Timothy Treadwell lost the role of Woody to Harrelson, his life tragically spiraled downward to the point where he became the subject of the documentary Grizzly Man.
Actor hopefuls get rejected every day, and most never get a single speaking part or any recognition for being brave enough to try. That's why Los Angeles is called "The place where dreams go to die."
Ted and Woody ended the show?!? I'm so sad... 😥 but the show was on for a long time so they had already given us so much of their time, talents, and love. I understand. I'm happy we got to see them on Frasier tho. Don't forget to watch re-runs of Frasier! Weekdays on Cozi TV📺
Mom was in her teens when cheers debuted but she somehow managed to get norm from cheers confused with friends which wasn't even on for like 2 years. And she makes feel old even though I'm 15 years old
Here’s one you didn’t know: in episode 04x23 Relief Bartender, When Sam is going to fire Ken there are two kids sitting on Sam’s lap. The girl is Judith Barsi. She was murdered at the age of 10 by her abusive alcoholic father ...
Style tip: You don't need to say "#18)The role of Frasier was written for John Lithgow", then start the presentation by repeating "The role of Frasier was written for John Lithgow"...This becomes very annoying...
The cheers cast did the tonight show live after the finale and they were blitzed! At one point as WOODY Harelson was being talked to the rest of the cast were shooting spitballs at Woody... He looked PISSED!
Okay. I had to stop. You do not have to repeat the listing in the explanation. For example, the one about the laugh track. "People complained the laugh track was too loud." "However, there was no laugh track; Cheers was filmed before a live studio audience." That's how you do it.
@@joeymorvant161 saw him reveal it in an interview in the 90's. Can't remember what show it was (Leno?) but I do remember it had an akward moment when instead of Al Bundy the host mentioned Ted Bundy and Ed mimicked being fried in a chair.
I was one of the thousands of fans who gathered outside the bull and finch for the final episode of cheers. I remember it was a drunken total disaster! The Kennedys were there and they were completely inebriated. As well as the cast but I got to fist pump with Kelsey Grammer
I remember that night! NBC did an entire tv block that night dedicated to Cheers last episode. I was only 15 but was crying so hard. I knew something special was ending. They were on Carson (or Leno) that night and they were all drunk 😂😂😂 Lucky you!!!
The best memories I have of cheers is with Norm and Cliff. I will never forget the episode when Cliff brought in a potato and said it looked like Richard M Nixon. My two favorite Norms: Bar crowd: Norm!!! Sam: how’s it going Norm? Norm: It’s a dog eat dog world and I’m wearing milk bone underwear. Norm: I would be at my ideal weight if I were 11 feet tall.
@Larry Shackle I still often use the *Milkbone underwear* quote!😆 I've been saying it for SO long, I totally forgot where it came from! 🤣Thank you for sharing that!
My favorite other Normisms: Bartender: How's a beer feel, Mr. Peterson? Norm: Pretty scared if I'm in the room. Woody: What's going on, Mr. Peterson? Norm: Let's talk about what's going IN Mr. Peterson.
@@martyklestadt6766 The second is my favorite, too, lol! Another favorite Coach moment was when Coach coached the pee-wee baseball team. One of the boys grabbed Diane's ass. Later, after Sam and Diane felt that Coach criticized one player too heavily, Coach said:"The only thing he's had his hands on all day is Diane's keister!", lol! I meant to say that the second Norm you mentioned was my favorite Norm moment. Also, Sam, Cliff and Norm went to a bowling alley. Don't remember why, or if anybody else went. Norm disappeared into the bar, you heard the crowd yell:"Norm!", Sam looked puzzled, and Cliff responded:"The man's got a life, Sam." Lololol!
I think that was the one in which Cheers had a bowling match against Gary's Old Town Tavern. Diane ended up helping Cheers win. That could have been a different episode, though. I also enjoyed that part with Norm going into the bar at the bowling alley!
IIRC, Frazier’s father ( now ‘Martin’) appeared in One Cheers episode but, not as his father. Not unlike like Chief Inspector Barnabees reincarnation who was a perpetrator in a previous series of Midsummer murders.
Im watching this ahow for the first time! I always knew the theme song and now im getting the references iv seen on the Simpsons years ago " the flaming moe episode
I am assuming the narrator meant that "in 1988" instead of 1998 when speaking about Sam possibly being diagnosed with HIV. The show went off the air in 1993.....so.....lol
I know....that is nit picking...however, a fact that was covered later in the video is something that ALWAYS bugged me about the show Frasier. While on Cheers, Frasier spoke of his father as a psychiatrist, but in the show Frasier, he was a retired police officer who hated all the psycho babble.
@@benadams3569 During the show Fraiser, when Sam visited Frasier, Frasier admitted to Sam he lied about his dad being a psychologist, because he figured he could get away with telling a lie since his family lived in Seattle and assumed his friends at Cheers would never meet his family. Ernie's death was something I knew but I had no idea that John Ratzenberger was the only person to attend and that knowledge makes it even sadder... The show wasn't quite the same without Coach, he added a lot of heart and charm to the show. Not saying Woody was bad or anything but, Coach was missed
@@Snapepet I have no idea why John was the only one to attend. I remember watching the original news release of Coach Pantusso's passing and they showed John Ratzenberger walking out of the chapel while highlighting that he was the only cast member who showed up, they didn't give a reason why he was the only one.
Just curious, on number 14 about the Treasury Department, two unidentified flying objects pass really quick on top of the building. If you pause it, they do not like like fighter jets!
I had lunch at the Bull and Finch. There were pictures on the wall of the cast learning to bartend right there at the bar, so I don't buy in to the Ted going to bartending school thing. I had to laugh really hard when the tourists came in and complained that the real bar didn't look like the one on TV. I just wanted to quote William Shatner yelling at Star Trek fans to "get a life, it is a TV show".
I am pretty sure I have heard Ted mention the bartending school thing in an interview. If I remember correctly he stopped worrying about it when he realized the film did not show his hands when he made a drink. So, it really did not matter whether he knew how to make a drink or not.
@@mwilliamshs how so? If cheers wasn't successful then I assume that NBC wouldn't have given the Seinfeld show a chance past its first season which they only got an order of 4 shows for its first season besides the pilot episode. Thanks be safe

Yes, it was a nod to Nick Colosanto who played Coach, that photo of Geronimo was in his dressing room and after he died they put it in the bar to honor him.

Cheers could have ran for another 2 to 3 seasons, but thankfully Ted thought it was time and it was.
You actually do see Vera in season 5 on the thanksgiving episode. Granted she has cake all over her face.
So, you see her, but you don't see her, lol! I remember Sam even saying:"This is great! We finally get to see her!" (He very well could have been speaking not just for them on the show(their characters), but their entire fanbase.)
Never thought about it before, but John Lithgow would probably make a great Frasier.
Bet he would but if that happened we would never get the show ‘fraiser’
Lithgow could do any role and kill it.

There's an interview of Ted Danson on UA-cam where he discusses going to bartending school to prepare for the show. He was laughing about it because all he ever ended up doing on Cheers was pour glasses of beer.
Bebe Neuwrith was by far he sexiest woman on that show.
Agreed. Plus she is hilarious in her superiority and snobbery.

Btw, I hope this blesses someone...
WHAT TO DO:
Just go to Jesus Christ with a humble heart, repent and put your trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, committing your life to Jesus.
AN EXAMPLE PRAYER:
Jesus Christ, I come to you a sinner, I repent of living my life away from you and ask for your forgiveness. Amen!
NOW WHAT:
Being a Christian is all about relationship. You grow in your relationship with God as you spend time with Him, in your Bible, in prayer, in time of worship and praise. I suggest reading the gospel of John first, and then read the books that apostle Paul wrote, Romans through Philemon.
Why is there always a religious maniac about?

Thanks for watching! We're so glad you enjoyed this video. What other types of video would you like to see?
Oh wow. I didn't get to see the show until I came to America but I sure loved it 💗 💗💗
I am firmly convinced that Cheers is the best US Sitcom there has ever been.
We're happy to know that you're a fan of the show. In your opinion, what is its best episode?
I thought it was funny how they continued to roast her even after she left. I thought it as their continued endearment for her after she left.
They missed that Frazier’s dad also played on Cheers as a jingle man for commercials
Derek Schwendemann And Peri Gilpin, who played Roz, was also in a single episode!
Beer and pretzels, that's our game C-H-E-R-S

Best sitcom in tv history. I said what I said.
We agree! Thank you for watching our content. Be on the lookout for our next video!
Most definitely.
I loved that they showed the ep with Cliff breaking the board and brick. Even though it was fake, it got the other characters to respect him.
John Ratzenberger holds a red belt in karate.
Every few years I binge the enrire show. And its always just as funny. I was 5 in '82 but I swear i remember watching it in its first season lol.
We're happy to know that you love the show. In your opinion, what is its best episode?
@@FactsVerse definitely "I'll be Seeing you" part 2. When Sam opens the portrait and says "wow". That episode was a perfect mix of comedy mixed w pathos. The greatest sitcoms are the ones that can add in a little melodrama and not lose the overall tone of the show.
Second fav is when Sam gives Coach the pep talk when Coach is having a hard time telling his daughter that her fiance is a bum. When Sam says "Go get em Coach" and after the talk Coach says "Sam, I got em!". 😭😭😭
My goodness. That whole interaction felt so genuine . ❤️
They promoted to not drink and drive but show Carla drinking when pregnant.
It was a different time, before doctors restricted drinking and smoking during pregnancy.

I never heard of Timothy Treadwell until this video.
@@joeymorvant161 hes the "naturalist" who was killed by a grizzly bear in Alaska in the Grizzly Man documentary.
Do we even know if that's true though?
Ted and Woody ended the show?!? I'm so sad... 😥 but the show was on for a long time so they had already given us so much of their time, talents, and love. I understand. I'm happy we got to see them on Frasier tho. Don't forget to watch re-runs of Frasier! Weekdays on Cozi TV📺
Thanks for watching!
This entire video sounds like a single sentence read by a nervous kid giving a speech in middle school.
Mean people suck.
That's not really Cheers trivia though. Just a sad fact about a guest star.
Style tip: You don't need to say "#18)The role of Frasier was written for John Lithgow", then start the presentation by repeating "The role of Frasier was written for John Lithgow"...This becomes very annoying...
The last fact was my favorite because I remember it.
The cheers cast did the tonight show live after the finale and they were blitzed! At one point as WOODY Harelson was being talked to the rest of the cast were shooting spitballs at Woody... He looked PISSED!
I read somewhere that some of the cast was even coked up that night.
@@emmyarellano3704 About a week later Ted Danson came back on the tonight show and apologized for their behavior.
I think about the sweatiest movie ever every time Cool Hand Luke or Twelve Angry Men come up.
And Ted Danson had just been in Body Heat!
Are we talking movie with most sweat in it, or movie that made the audience sweat the most?
Okay. I had to stop. You do not have to repeat the listing in the explanation.
For example, the one about the laugh track.
"People complained the laugh track was too loud." "However, there was no laugh track; Cheers was filmed before a live studio audience."
That's how you do it.
Ed O'Neil (Al Bundy) was also up for the role when it was still supposed to be a former Football player
Wow! How'd you find that out?

They were on Carson (or Leno) that night and they were all drunk 😂😂😂
Lucky you!!!
The best memories I have of cheers is with Norm and Cliff.
I will never forget the episode when Cliff brought in a potato and said it looked like Richard M Nixon.
My two favorite Norms:
Bar crowd: Norm!!!
My favorite other Normisms:
Bartender: How's a beer feel, Mr. Peterson? Norm: Pretty scared if I'm in the room.
Woody: What's going on, Mr. Peterson? Norm: Let's talk about what's going IN Mr. Peterson.
And my favorite Coach moment:
(Phone rings, Coach answers.) Coach: Hold on. Is there an Ernie Pantusso here? Sam: That's you, Coach. Coach: Speaking.
Not unlike like Chief Inspector Barnabees reincarnation who was

I like how you make it sound like Perlmans family was there by coincidence and it is not because of nepotism and connections :D
Exactly. "they" all look out for each other. 🕎
Who are three people who have never been in my kitchen?
Willem Dafoe, Anne Margret, and James Randi.

Frasier’s dad may have been changed to a former cop, but his late mother was a psychiatrist.
Cliff claven was the funniest a true legend my favourite of the corner stone cast 🧚♀️💝

Sam and his friends also had no idea that Frasier had a brother. (Season 2 Episode 16)
Here's one fact that was missed: when Ernie "Coach" Pantusso passed away, John Ratzenberger was the only cast member to attend his funeral.
That's so sad! Do you happen to know why?
Ernie's death was something I knew but I had no idea that John Ratzenberger was the only person to attend and that knowledge makes it even sadder...
The show wasn't quite the same without Coach, he added a lot of heart and charm to the show. Not saying Woody was bad or anything but, Coach was missed
They brought Woody on to attract a younger audience
@@Snapepet I have no idea why John was the only one to attend. I remember watching the original news release of Coach Pantusso's passing and they showed John Ratzenberger walking out of the chapel while highlighting that he was the only cast member who showed up, they didn't give a reason why he was the only one.
Never knew that!
I have all these 'never seen again' scenes in my Cheers collection, what are you even talking about?
Even the pre Superbowl ?
Was Coach Ernie Pantuso on Frazier?

@@FactsVerse your welcome!
Great stuff, I guess that if cheers never made it then there would be no Seinfeld show either right?
