    This film was made with funds from the United States Information Agency's Young Filmmakers Bicentennial Grant Project.
    Description from USIA records: A study of immigration to the United States from the late 1800s to the mid 1950s. Ellis Island in New York City is the focal point of this film, which includes reminiscences by an immigrant plus live action footage and old stills from the period. Features the photographs of Jacob Riis and Lewis Hine. Also includes footage of Ellis Island in a state of decay, prior to efforts to restore the site as a historical landmark.
