I'm shocked that the DvG Dan play wasn't number one. Great use of advantages that needed communication within the alliance and took advantage of knowing where the advantages were on the other side
I think a good top 5 is the Idol Nullifier that Carl played to cancel Dan's idol in David v Goliath, it also turned the balance of the tribes putting Davids on top

I can think of several great advantage situations/plays: -Jeremy's Safety Without Power when he was the target -Nick vote steal/Carl Nullifier getting the Davids a majority and flushing a Goliath idol -Dean Idol Nullifier, eliminating Janet who was poised to win over everyone -Kaleb successful SITD -Matthew strategic SITD play to avoid picking sides, making Brandon flush idol Matthew subsequently finds himself, and eliminating his target Maddy -Elaine blocking vote eliminating Jason, saving herself or fellow Lairo Aaron depending on what would have happened -Drea similar to Liana blowing Knowledge Is Power, however unlike Liana Drea sealed her own fate and went home that night, great move by Omar
I know it *just* happened and the script for this video was probably already written before the episode aired but I can't believe that Caleb using his shot in the dark isn't on the list
It barely made a difference outside of the shock value bc he left next and they just voted out the second in line. All it really did was move him forward a round by chance
Agreed, it got him on the jury and nullified all the votes cast in that tribal. In terms of shock factor it definitely delivered, regardless of how much longer he lasted (which didn't seem to be a criterion for this video anyways).
Hear me out: I have found a screenshot of the GC steal vote, and the actual wording is "This VOTE is non-transferrable and cannot be stolen from you". Not "This advantage" but "This vote" (as in "the vote you have just stolen" for example?) Based on the ambiguous wording I think there was a case that could be made to allow Cirie to actually use it.
Tbh when you put it that way, I actually think it could be argued that it just can't be used against the original owner. So Cirie can't use against who she wanted. However, I feel she could use it on someone else. I read the first part as you can't change your mind in a revote who you steal the vote from
@@darbyl22 Interesting! I interpreted it differently: A/ "This vote is non-transferrable": you can't steal someone's vote to transfer it to someone else. Example: "I would like to steal Tai's vote and give it to Michaela" would be a forbidden move. B/ "and cannot be stolen from you": when you steal someone's vote, another player can't steal it from you after with an advantage. Example: Cirie steals Tai's vote and now has 2 votes, but then Sarah stands up, reveals another steal-vote advantage and uses it to steal both Cirie's votes = would be a forbidden move. Obviously for B/ there was no other steal-vote advantage in play but you could argue that these were just cautionary rules in case the producers decided to add some last minute advantage for grabs if the game needed to be spiced up. Interestingly your interpretation also works! That confirms to me that the wording was so ambiguous here that the final decision was really up to who could make the better case to convince Jeff lol.
I assume that’s to prevent multiple steal a votes being used at 1 tribal like let’s imagine a hypothetical final 6 round and player 1 steals player 2s vote, if player 4 also plays a steal a vote then the votes of players 1 & 2 and ineligible to be stolen
I love how the most OP on paper advantage "Knowledge is Power" has never worked. Even in it's first appearance. The name says it all, and people knew how to play around it instantly. One of my favourite moments because if it worked I'd be pissed, since it's basically the hourglass twist but for an advantage. I think that the advantages feel weak because idols are more powerful *and* too prevalent. If we could get through a season where there’s advantages in play and a lack of idols in play, the advantages become much more powerful, but with the current format we’re not gonna see that anytime soon.
This what I thought of when it came to insane advantage plays. Being able to read the room effectively enough to play an idol nullifier is beyond wild, to me.
Exactly! They had to correctly guess that a) Dan would play the idol and b) that he would play it on himself. One of the best plays in Survivor history, in my opinion. Especially coming just one week after the Jon blindside, which was another stellar idol/split vote play by the Davids. David vs. Goliath is one of my favourite seasons.
The idol nullifier is way too OP imo, like it really doesn’t matter if Dan plays his idol or not at that tribal because the nullifier is in play and the David’s now hold majority Couple that with it’s only counter being 2 idols, I’d like it gone
The extra vote always feels like it should be more impactful, but there’s only a narrow window in which it will be useful. Either it keeps the overdogs in an overdog position, or it’s not impactful enough to keep you from going home outside a deadlock tie. Like you’d need to to be at least 3 vote for someone to get something comparable to an idol. This does make me wonder about an inverse idol advantage thing, where instead if the advantage guaranteeing someone safety it guarantees someone goes home given some condition is met. Like imagine an advantage that flips the script at tribal, where the person with the least amount of (nonzero) votes is the one to go home. This would in theory be even more powerful than an idol, as it almost always changes who would be going home that tribal, but its also much more susceptible to counterplay as it only takes one stray vote to remove an unintended target (including yourself). Imo most alt advantages don’t force players to think about how to play around them like they do with idols, and I think it’d be fun if the producers went a little wild with it even if it turns out broken. After all, I’d rather watch something crazy and broken rather than boring and broken (looking at you, game changers)
The extra vote is way more powerful when stacked with other advantages, yes. Otherwise it becomes way more useful when the tribe is small AND fractured, and there are multiple valid targets and thus consensus fails to form.
@@thebumpercar1344 yeah, I suppose it’s just that, barring the most exceptional blunders, idols at their bare minimum keep you safe for one more round, regardless of how well played that safety is. @@PineappleLiar : I think that the extra vote is one of the better designed advantages, and every time it's been used in the new era it's always made a difference. It is certainly more balanced than the Knowledge is Power, Idol Nullifier, or Legacy Advantage. And it's more powerful than the Safety Without Power advantage. I also think that Hidden Immunity Idols, as is, are just a little too powerful, as their power increases exponentially when two or more are on the same side. Worse, idols push people to play conservatively/gamebotty as they don't want their plans to get blown up by an idol. So we see more Big Brother style "everyone votes for the same person" landslide blindside vote outs rather than messier, fractured votes. Perhaps if there was a rule saying you can't carry more than one idol on your person at a time?
The Xander thing was the best counter to a ‘knowledge is power’ advantage, but season 43 had Jesse use the threat of knowledge is power as a trick to get Cody to give him his idol, which Jesse then played against Cody to blindside him. Even before that, Dwight gave Jesse Jeanine’s idol right before they voted Dwight out. Pretty sure the knowledge is power wasn’t even in that season, but the threat of it made for some pretty dumb plays that all somehow benefitted Jesse.
Kaleb had one of the wildest saves with advantages ever this season(45). Edit: After finishing the video you have to count this. 11 total votes not counted while all players thought it was 12.
If we're counting international, I feel like Jericho should be in there from Aus Survivor. He creatively used what was probably a nothing advantage in a jar of cookies to gain allies and surround himself with big targets. It was highly risky too, since if any of them talked to each other they would have realized that Jericho had told them all the same thing.
Ah... the toilet paper advantage. It still makes me so mad, and it's not not even close to being the worst part of the episode. At least we thought there was going to ba good payoff. Shame Dan ruined that too,
Nah the David vs Golitah split minority vote to get out John followed by the next tribal with the idol nullifier to get out Dan is great. The David's flushed 2 idols with only 1 advantage on their side.
Wait so on the Maryanne play, if Romeo had just voted for Jonathan, it wouldn't have mattered anyway right? So if the extra vote wasn't necessary if Romeo votes with her and doesn't work if he votes against her, isn't the more insane play her convincing him to vote with her? Or am I missing something
No you’re right, but the extra vote does ensure that they don’t go into a revote where things might go wrong so guess that’s something. Ultimately tho, Romeo was always voting with Maryanne here. They had a solid bond from what I’ve heard post-season and it’s not like he thought Johnathan was a threat to win to flip the vote on him.
Also that and her owning the move makes it squarely Maryanne's move. It was HER extra vote, her pulling in Goatmeo, and the jury better damn well believe she masterminded it. Which she did, but until then really nobody took her seriously as a player because of her youth and stuff. This was a solid way to establish jury cred
@the_rose_titty this is true, I wasn't trying to take away from her move, just pointing out the numbers not quite making it essential strictly strategically.
@@tudgrubb1306 I know I was just explaining why it happened and what it accomplished over a 2-2-2 split. Everyone thought Mike was running the whole game and they were gonna have to vote for him. Maryanne gave them another option by putting herself up there. So it's important that it was used just for jury purposes if nothing else
Lets make it even more simple on marayyne play. There r 6 player nd 7 vote(marayyne 2) So if M, John and mike vs other 3 and M wants omar to go.. so by simply M(2) + J+ Mike gives 4 and other 3 makes this group powerful. Simple.. why to make it 3, 2, 2 and make it glorious
Mike and Jonathan wete refusing to vote for Omar because they believed he had an idol and that one of them would be the secondary vote. but Maryanne knew that Omar was really controlling the game so she used the extra vote to get him out when everyone else was too chicken to do so.
That's what Maryanne was trying to do, but John and Mike weren't cooperating so she had to go for Plan B. Trying to orchestrate a vote in Survivor is like trying to herd cats.

i would say the idol nullified in DvG was pretty epic
I just love Cirie! ❤
Number 3 is like playing 4d chess with a toddler
Confused? You soon will be.
I got a headache just trying to keep up. 😂
Also want to shoutout Noelle's Steal-a-Vote from S43 that she used in the 5 person post-merge split tribal to vote out James
David vs Goliath idol nullify or riot
I don't even watch Survivor but I'm hooked on these videos lol
Ghost Island was advantage heavy season but at lest that was the point!
God Wendell should’ve been on Challenge USA 2 instead of Sebas. Wendell’s gameplay is just so good
Maryanne did that
One could be Jeremy’s safety without power advantage
Please do a TOP TEN MEDALLION OF POWER PLAYS video next !
Kaleb shot in the dark play was good
was the "you cant use someone else advantage" rule changed? Why do i remember other times where people used an advantage someone gave them?
If we're counting international, I feel like Jericho should be in there from Aus Survivor. He creatively used what was probably a nothing advantage in a jar of cookies to gain allies and surround himself with big targets. It was highly risky too, since if any of them talked to each other they would have realized that Jericho had told them all the same thing.
You need to turn up the volume
the idol nullifier at David vs Goliath?
I was waiting for the david and goliath cancel idol.
Anyone else remember the wrote your own advantage advantage that had no power
Ah... the toilet paper advantage. It still makes me so mad, and it's not not even close to being the worst part of the episode. At least we thought there was going to ba good payoff. Shame Dan ruined that too,
Maryanne is one of the most underrated winner ever.
Correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t that move end up costing Dom Sebastian’s vote?
imo the dvg minority split vote is the best advantage play ever, but these are 2-6 lol great list
What about the idol nullifier in DvG?
I mean idol nullifiers count as advantages right...? I was kinda waiting for Dan's vote off lol
Shouldn’t Kaleb’s shot in the dark be on this list?
I feel like while it was great, it lost a lot of pizzazz with Kaleb going immediately afterward LOL
@@TheMeanderingduck6 I sort of agree but also he wouldn’t have made jury without it
@@TheMeanderingduck6 True but it doesn't seem like "how long the player lasted after the insane advantage play" was a criterion for this video.
I mean yeah he survived the round, but he went out the literal next round so it’s not like it really helped him long term
I haven't watched GC yet, but is there a reason Cirie stole Sarah's vote to protect her instead of Tai's vote?
I’m promoting evil jeff
Of people lump together idols with advantages they shouldn't
Jeff says if anyone has an advantage or an idol
2 categories
Doms plan only works if Sebastian is ret@reds which thankfully he is lmao
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Nah the David vs Golitah split minority vote to get out John followed by the next tribal with the idol nullifier to get out Dan is great. The David's flushed 2 idols with only 1 advantage on their side.
David vs Goliath 😢
David V Goliath idol nullifier?
PLEASE DROP A VIDEO ABOUT TONIGHT PLEASE
Idol nullifier on Janet?
So it's important that it was used just for jury purposes if nothing else
no kaleb sitd?
Idol nulifier?
Peridiam, how do I get verified on the discord server?
✨✨ Thanks! ✨✨
I feel like Australian survivor has more advantage plays
Lets make it even more simple on marayyne play.
There r 6 player nd 7 vote(marayyne 2)
So if M, John and mike vs other 3 and M wants omar to go.. so by simply M(2) + J+ Mike gives 4 and other 3 makes this group powerful. Simple.. why to make it 3, 2, 2 and make it glorious
YESSIR
It still blows me away that people hate on Ghost Island. Sure, the ultimate result was kind of obvious but the journey to get there was far wilder than most remember.
It really wasn’t. There are only a handful of good moments. The rest was predictable accompanied by a dull cast
@@zensen1504Even the final vote reveal wasn't as interesting as people make it out to be. I thought him reading them on the island made it obvious that it was going to be a tie.
Laurel was infuriating, bitch literally did nothing the entire game but coast.
And the entire drama of the season is will she flip?
The double tribal is boring, Kellyn, Chelsea and Libby are very underwhelming and poorly edited mergers
Naviti strong is like half the reason Jeff refuses to do 2 tribes anymore
PLEASE BRING DOMINICK BACK!
You should do a video on best and worst survivor shelters, along the lines of your pizza investigation and ranking. 😂
I think Idoled Out made a video about that
do best survivor counter plays
You have people on the clock app blatantly ripping off your content.
Mariannae Is by Far the Smartest Player EVER! She was 10 plays ahead of everyone from about halfway through the game!
It’s funny that you had to include plays where the advantage failed in order to make this list. Not even enough successful ones to make it work
Dom shoudlve won 100!
I thought Maryanne's idol play at FTC would be here, I mean it technically counts right? 🤣
Early squad
first gang
Liana in 41 might be one of the worst Survivor players with such unearned confidence lmao
1st
Dom was robbed
13th !!!!
Xander got screwed. Nothing against Erika but I don it see how she got 7 votes and Xander got 0 😐. I get his game dropped off as the game went on but… 🤷♂️.
Yea… Xander should have won that season
