Here you should must do the carbonation process to increase the compressive strength...
Put some smoke to the concrete..
Then it will rapidly increase in strength, hardness & durability.
A cement concrete structure can be durable up to a maximum of 65 years, but the lime Crete is still usable even after 200 years..
Hence lime Crete is the best.
    Low cost,
Not releasing toxic gases like cement,
    Environmental friendly,
    Easily available,
    Etc..

I came here from watching hempcrete house construction videos and wondered why the builders used lime instead of concrete. Thank you for the answers.

Why Limecrete is not stronger than cement concrete as mentioned in the video? Ancient buildings made with limecrete are still standing after thousands of years whereas cement concrete buildings last only 50 to 80 years!

If you analyze the ancient buildings you will find that the concrete is virtually always in compression (extensive use of arches) and where any tensile forces exist they are very small. The use of concrete is in massive quantities.
Modern concrete buildings and bridges introduce significant tensile forces which rely on rebar to carry, which is subject to degradation once water and other chemicals (chlorides) get to the rebar. Rust increases in volume and fractures the concrete.
In recent years you are starting to see the use of various grades of SS rebar to stop the corrosion process and concrete buildings and structures should now last hundreds of years (and perhaps much longer).
Another issue is that all these muti-thousand of year old Roman Concete structures are in mild climates that do not see freeze/thaw cycles. Even lime concrete can be affected by freeze/thaw cycles.
Finally, the biggest reason that they use portland cement for most modern concrete is that it gains the vast majority of its strength in 2 months or less. Limecrete takes about 2 years to gain the same amount of its strength. Thus building with limecrete means that the project gets built and finished on a significantly slower schedule - and in the modern world "time is money."
However, it is true that ultimately limecrete will outlive portland cement in the long term assuming good construction practices are followed when building with it.
I've been studying the pro's and con's of building and ICF 2-3 story house with limecrete with SS rebar. How much longer will i need for the ICF walls to set before I can finish the walls. Must I let the bottom sections cure for months before I can cast the upper sections? Lots of unanswered questions at this time.
