I believe some of the newer controller idle has a idle setting where it cuts off on its own because my old one stays on but my new cuts off in like a hour
I think I have the newer one, because I have it plugged in, and when I leave it afk, with a rubber band on my controller it still turns off. Have you figured it out yet with the newer controllers?

Help, did exactly what you said, I don't have the battery pack in, it's charging and it's connected the same spot you have it connected too, but it still turns off after 15 mins
Vapor are you sure you have the correct micro cable. The cable has to be able to transfer files. It’s should have a symbol on it that looks like a tree kind of

I use KB&M and I have my mic plugged into my controller so it turns off every 10 min. I don’t have an extra USB port cause my mouse is one, my keyboard is another, and my external hardrive is the third.

Use a multi port USB device. I use one and have my KB and mouse plugged into it on the front of my One X. I need to figure if this works for me because my controller shuts off on its own and my headphones go out till I turn it back on.

Noah T you have to have a micro usb charger. By that I mean you have to have a android charger that is able to transport files.

It wasn’t the batteries for me. I have the newer controller and I just had to keep trying different micro usb cables until I found one that would keep it it weak past 15 minutes. It ended up being the one on my headphones. Took like 7 different cables before i found one that worked.

This helps a fuck tonne dude, i have a wheel for my xbox but it has no audio port so i have my headset plugged into my controller but every so often it would turn off and need to turn it back on again or touch it every few minutes which isnt easy while driving

You aren't using a real android charger
or you still have the batteries in.

The Mystery Man I switched controllers it’s a USB type C now, but playing Spotify will make your controller never turn off at all
XllscopezllX yeah but this way you won’t have to have Spotify open. You will just be able to have it plugged in with a micro usb and it will stay on as long as your Xbox is on and as long as it’s plugged in

You can’t have a option to keep your Xbox controller on it keeps turning off while I’m on amazon prime watching a show with my headphones, I only do that for Dolby atmos or id watch it on my PS4 pro it never turns off you know why there is a damn option to keep it on how long you like!!!!

You can just go to settings go to power and startup then select powermode and start up then it should say turn off after 1 hour of inactivity change it to never turn off that simple

Make sure you don't have actual AA batteries in the controller, though. Can destroy it.
Does it have to be the front port? I have it in the back port because I use the front port for my Wireless Headset and when I use the back port for the controller it just turns off. but if it has to be in front that would explain quite a lot.

I have an Xbox One X and this is not true. It'll still turn itself off, plugged in or not from inactivity. And there is nothing in the settings to turn this off

Does it have to be plugged in the front? I have a g920 racing wheel that I plug to the front, and I can never use my wired astro a40 because the controller turns off when I use the wheel. I think the wheel has to plug in the front as well

Its only micro usb cables that work . alsp for this trick to work your controller has to have no batteries in it so its forced to use the cable even though i have had some people who could do it with batteries still in their controller
