When the vehicle is on please don't forget to put on your heater core. So it can fill with water to while bleeding. Nice video with the price of repairs you giving people diy confidence.

Good tip for those bolts exposed to water is to use a non setting anti corrosion compound on them. Loctite makes one that never cures, but which will keep the thread and bolts from corroding fast into the head. Loctite 567 or 565 is what I use. That is what Yamaha uses on outboard motors, which works well to keep the metal corrosion free, even in salt water.
Excellent video uncle Gary. Lol your videos come right on time!! My car takes very long to get to operating temperatures. Seems like the thermostat is not regulating properly. I was going to do the same job but thought I could bypass removing the battery tray. Seems like I will have to remove the tray to make it easier. I’m also going to use the grey victor reinz gasket seal and probably HEPU G12 coolant. I also did the radiator sometime last year and damn that was a long job with removing the front. Anyways thank you as always. I sent you a small tip. Matt JHB 👍🏽🙏🏽

Howsit Uncle Gary i had a overheat about a month ago, new waterpump, engineerd and skimmed head, new gaskets, housing, thermostat, temp sensor. Went 100% until today when i got heat warning and stopped. Car cooled down and drove back home 60km. Did not get warm again. Heater was on when it happened but off when i drove back. No coolant loss but i did notice it did backed up the coolant bottle to over full. Heater core, thermostat or radiatior? Could even be airlock. Any thoughts? Thank you for the great channel.

Awesome tip Sean, corroded bolts and nuts are a nightmare sometimes especially when it snaps trying to loosen or tighten it.
maybe use special grease for sea in these bolts The green one
Good advice

Definitely airlock, sometimes bleeding of the cooling system needs to be done more than once.

No replace the faulty unit.
So I have to replace the thermostat housing to be sure and secure.

Yes, Morne it could be a faulty thermostat that is housed in the water flange.
How to fix that now
Meaning I must buy a new housing
