God, she has SUCH a knack for finding the grit and anger and hurt in a song. I feel like so many people (myself included) struggle to find that in a piece, and even when we do find it we find it hard or hesitate to convey that. Her "She Used to be Mine" and "Dancing On My Own" in particular have this captivating portrayal of being angry and frustrated--not necessarily at a person but at her situation or at the world itself. What a masterclass!
She’s still very young but she seems gone to all kinds of life events! She’s astoundingly funny!!She has lots of beautiful humor that makes you laugh with glee!
When I watched the musical in Hadestown I love that part where Eva and Reeve sang together “All I have known .” So inspiring and uplifting!! Such a great show I ever saw in my life! I think life makes a big difference when music comes alive in everyone’s lives! (All I’ve Known) Awesome!!
1:20 - Me & Mr.Jones 8:04 - Wake Up Alone 16:04 - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road 36:00 - Somebody That I Used to Know 53:24 - I'm Kissing You 1:00:31 - Used to be Mine 1:10:15 - Valerie 1:16:20 - With You 1:21:09 - I Will Survive
absolutely adore seeing reeve at 20:45 turning back and forth to keep her in sight lol. and I always love seeing eva's shows, thank you for uploading this one! it's always so lovely to hear her sing and see her energy
My daughter and son were at the show and had a great time. This was my daughter’s second time seeing you. She saw you in 11/2019 and seen Hadestown 3x! Needless to say, they are both big fans of yours! Thanks for ALL you do and for being such an inspiration.
She’s incredibly talented and expressive. But is anyone else concerned about the rough cord closure and the raspy, shreddy sound at the top of her range? It sounds like fatigue, and it’s gotten more severe over the last few months. Hope she has time to rest and a coach to help her recover. It’s really tough when singing and acting are your source of income.
As a singer - yes I definitely noticed it. I wonder if the demands of 8 shows per week for years on end have taken a toll on her voice? I say this because she started her professional career immediately following high school. She immediately went into incredibly demanding shows from a vocal standpoint. That's an extraordinary challenge for anyone, let alone someone at that age who is still learning their vocal instrument. I can only speak for myself and say over time I learned how to belt so I don't damage my voice. I noticed marked improvement over the years for myself. But I wasn't thrust into 8 shows per week on Broadway. She has an incredible vocal instrument, but hearing this I do worry about her vocal health. For what it's worth I saw Hadestown a couple weeks ago, and she wasn't straining on that - her belt sounded healthy and full. I'm guessing it is the accumulated demands of 8 shows per week year after year. And Hadestown is a vocally intense show, especially her part.
I like her, but the Yellow Brick Road was just bad. t does not site. And Sara Bareilles did it much better. Because this is her song, actually, after Elton.
