I'm a big fan of your Doge crew.
I have a different interpretation for the song than some of the earlier comments. The shoes represent his city life. He is comfortable there. He is visiting home, but he is not there mentally. He is constantly on the phone (1:23 and 1:53), he is bored at the wedding, and he is not interested in talking to some of his friends (1:44 - 1:47). In general, he has moved on from his childhood home and is comfortable with his city life and friends. But then he sees his childhood crush. They go to school. And he realizes that his childhood home was not bad. There were many good things about about it. He smiles when he sees a photo of him playing football as a kid. The message on the board in school - where is your home - points to this as well. So at the end he lets go of his shoes (city life affection) and learns to embrace and accept his 'home' where he grew up. This is kinda shown in the two hugs they share. See the difference in the hugs at 2:07 and 3:29. In the second hug, he is not just embracing his friend, but also the idyllic streets that dot his hometown. At the end, he takes his home with him to the city in the form of his new juttis! And yes, he will visit back and stay in touch with his home! :)

I personally think it's about the pursuit of home.
Let's take a moment to appreciate how beautifully directed this mv is.
1) Firstly, how he loves his shoes more than anything, chooses to wear them everywhere, even on a traditional outfit. Decides not to go into the temple because he was afraid of losing his shoes.
Cut to the part where he decides to give them away, just for her.
2) When he sees her in the event, he turns around immediately, shows she's not just some random girl. Later on we found out she's his school crush, probably first love, the special one.
Don't forget the bench carvings ;)
3) The first awkward hug, shows how much apart they are.
Cut to the last hug, they don't feel like leaving each other, hugging with their heads buried into each other.
And those glances In the entire video.❤️

When he meets the girl, he understands the universal language - LOVE. His reason to live another day changes, his priorities change. He gets ready to give his shoes to her which represents him expressing his feelings towards her. In the last shot where he wears sandals depicts CHANGE. He has changed as a person, for the better,he now knows where his HOME is :)

i got really connected to this song, just came back to home after a journey of 4 years of office life. And now my schoolmates and happy stories.
The sneakers represents things the guy is afraid to loose because he loves them. he didn't even went inside the Mandir just because he fears that they will get stollen, aslo he didn't liked putting his clothes in the almira ,and he puts them back in the bag which represents how he don't like coming out his comfort zone and his perspective towards life is kinda stiff and unhappy. but when he met his love he realised nothing is compared to her and he gives her whatever he loves like his time, his care and his shoes which we can say his shoes represents the style of life he has been living and he is afraid to loose it but after coming out of his fears and comfort zone he realises and gives them to her as a sign of love . He comes back to the city in jutties which represents that he has changed his perspective and now he knows what real happiness is (this is my opinion and i might be wrong)

To me, this video is about thinking that you “made it big”, you achieved the dream that you’ve always chased, but that dream is usually just a set of westernized ideals (the sneakers) that don’t really fit with our own understanding of success. For us success is a thing that you can share with those who you care about (him giving her the sneakers). He understood where his home is..what does feel home..its not about the place nor the things he possessed but in the presence of that person where you feel happy and complete. In the beginning though it showed his constant disconnected feeling from the so called home life he had, and never wanted to attach to it anymore, but somehow he found the place where he felt good, the schools the memories and in the arms of that person then he accepted himself as a part of the place, and gladly wore the it.
What I understood from the video was that one must always be connected with its roots and simplicity is key to hapiness

This video is so well made. The feeling of not being home when you're at home because you don't consider yourself from the small town on a superficial level, not being able to or not wanting to connect to people who you left behind at 'home' but at the end of the day realizing that home is where you belong, you can't leave it behind because it resides in you, and the calmness of that, you take along with you. Amazing 💕
