To VV: How will I know how this will taste? The video is good and is well produced. He has a nice personality and is a good presenter; but, still, the taste of the sauce would be a mystery.
This dude hits the nail on the head with this sauce. It really is a fantastic blend that is very easily added to for different preferences. I haven’t bought a bottle of bbq sauce since I watched this video and I thank you very much for it.
So I made this sauce. Although I used tablespoons instead of teaspoons for the garlic powder and onion powder. Straight 🔥. Have a jar of it saved now. Might tinker with it a bit, but you were on the money with this! Thanks.
My husband was buying BBQ sauce which the first ingredient was high fructose corn syrup . After watching this, I took over the BBQ sauce for us. This recipe is great. I used trivia brown sugar to cut some of the calories & it is truly yummy! No more store bought crap. Thank you 😊
Yo this shit tastes amazing. I tried every brand of bbq sauce in the supermarket but nothing comes close to this. And you did teach me a lot about tweaking to taste. It was much easier than I thought. Thank you for this
Here's another BBQ sauce recipe for you. My all time favorite and when combined with Ollie's homemade rub, makes the best baked beans you've ever put in your mouth. "Ollie Gates's Barbecue Sauce" www.marthastewart.com/340246/barbecue-sauce
Love your videos man. Honestly going to be using this next time I do a barbecue. You’ve been helping me on my cooking adventure and I really appreciate these videos. Keep going.

This is almost identical to my BBQ sauce recipe and tastes amazing, I add about a half tablespoon of peanut butter (definitely worth trying trust me) and honey, I also do use a liquid smoke from Hawaii and Hawaiians know how to get the perfect complementary flavors (Kiawe liquid smoke) it has very clean flavor
I wanted to make ribs but realized i was out of bbq sauce. About to go make this right now. I have everything except corriander. Thx for the awesome video !!!!
Hi Steve thanks for this BBQ sauce recipe we're definitely going to make this sauce. Sorry for taking so long for comments on your videos it hard keeping up with you guys.
My man I just finally found the courage to try a recipe and this thing is *glorious* ! It's so exciting to learn a practical thing like this, it motivates me to try more of these! Thank you!
to add a nice smokey flavor i would use morita chilies. the dried chilies in the pantry should be quajillo, ancho and morita but as most people call them chpotie
SMOKE BASE 1/2 tomato, 1/4 onion 1/4 corn, [base] add simple syrup. Sub for ketchup. Season to taste. Caramelize/emulsify on low heat. !!!mixing condiments is not chef.
Just beat my buddy in a BBQ rib cook off using this recipe. (but added some lemon juice 😊) this is legit the best fucking recipe. And this video is a joy to watch. Thank you much!!!
This is great! I am going to play with this a bit and see if I can replicate a recipe we have from a local area (Hooksett, NH, USA) Mexican restaurant called Shorty's Mexican Roadhouse. The recipe is for a simple side dish of just beans called "River City Beans" They aren't even ON the menus but they are SOOO delicious! They are tangy, sweet, and have a BIT of a spicy bite. I am hoping if I play enough with your recipe here I can make a similar flavor to make those red kidney beans JUST AS delicious! Wish me luck! Lee
I just wonder if that is that spicy 🌶 hot but, not to hot , with just a touch of sweet BBQ sauce I’m trying to recreate from my uncles recipe? I just wonder ? Guess I will will try it !
*_Question,_** How well does this barbecue sauce stick to the food?* I remember bbq sauce sticking to the food, fingers, & our faces all while tasting amazing, it is the flavor of my childhood summers dinners, along with sweet jersey corn on the cob. The reason I am here, last week I tried using a bottle of the bbq sauce my Dad always used, Kraft Original & it wouldn't stick to the meat & I know why, there is next to zero tomato in their sauce, it is 99% dyed red corn syrup that when heated up flows like water off leaving behind a total of a teaspoon's worth of tomato paste. I'll make this sauce, but when I'm done I think I'll work it into something new, barbecued meat that is wearing a thick coating of sauce that tastes like roasted tomatoes & onions that is also sweet & loaded with but not over powering spices. ...that can also double as an epoxy glue. The CIA [Culinary Institute of America] also has a video posted on UA-cam of a Balsamic Bourbon BBQ Sauce I am dying to give a try... or even merge these two recipes together. If bourbon can elevate baked beans into something you'll always remember that first time you've tasted it than it belongs in barbecue sauce. If you never had bourbon added to baked beans before, you need to give it a try. And later this summer of 2024 when tomatoes are ripened on the vine in the backyard I'll drop them in boiling water & than a dip into a ice bath to remove their skins, & worked them into a puree and also a paste keeping their freshness of being picked an hour ago. (everyone that grows tomatoes knows we always end up with way to many to use and/or jar) so I will have enough to learn for myself the best way to turn them into barbecue sauce of my own. Just thinking, maybe not go so heavy on my amount of onions, & just leave them the best way, fried along with mushrooms and ladled over top of a beautiful barbecued steak. btw, I had to go to Amazon to buy Molasses, none of my local store had it in stock... maybe next year after the election, if everything goes *RIGHT!*
First of all, thanks for making these videos. I wanted to try this recipee myself, since grilling season is starting and somehow I wasn't expecting so much tanginess. Next time I will try with a bit less vinegar and Worcestershire sauce, to see if the flavor goes a bit more into a direction I can enjoy. Apart from that, flavor is really good and will be using it a lot this summer. :D
Ya. One thing you’ll know about my is I LOVR acidity. The tang is what I want. It cuts the fat of the reach meats you’re cooking. Otherwise I find the sauce can be overly sweet. How much vinegar did you add? I’m very fast and loose with my measurements
@@NOTANOTHERCOOKINGSHOW I think I put a little bit more than half a cup, but not much more than that. I'm starting to ramp up my cooking game recently, and sauces is one of those things I had to level up. So I'm still learning about quantities and measurements for those. Normally I cook by intuition, but with certain specific things I preffer to have a base. As i said, flavor is fantastic, just a little bit too tangy, but thankfully, next time I can just play around with quantities. Anyway, thanks for making this and thanks for answering!

Made the sauce today, tastes great despite my goof up of adding 2 tbsp of chili powder instead of 2 tsp. I'll definitely make another batch too.
You can always fix that by adding some more ketchup and a bit more of the other ingredients minus the spices just to dilute them a bit.
