I'm a big fan of the n64 and Duke Nukem would be my pick bc I love the original pc game and really enjoyed the n64 port as well, they added a couple of new weapons and made it to where you can save the babes that are held captive by the aliens. Very cool games for the collection. I remember the AVGN video on the Last Ninja. That iso view really takes a bit to get used to. I have to play games with inverted controls. Since I started playing Halo , that configuration just stuck with me. 😅 Just uploaded my May video with the same arrangement. The Last Ninja was massive on the C64 over here back in the day Awesome N64 additions, love that Midway collection, some true classics on that Never seen Battle tanks on 64 before, looks good. Used to love Top Gear Rally👍
I had never played The Last Ninja before. Didn’t have a micro as a kid but it seems like an interesting game. Very different from anything else on the NES. They hooked me up nicely with the N64 grabs. Duke is of course my favorite of the bunch but all of them are solid! There are actually 2 Battletanx games on the system. Same of the more but fun as hell just to blow things up. 🤣
This seems like a better deal to get the round about value of the box rather then a specific number of games. Very nice, first box, both games are bangers, I wouldn’t mind either of them. Third box, all n64! Not bad at all.
It’s working out pretty well so far really. I guess they were having problems getting me 5 games I didn’t have for the limited systems selected. The first box was definitely my favorite of the two getting a wishlist game and the NES has been much harder to come by lately but the 2nd was a nice hook up too. Getting closer and closer. 🍻🤙🏻

I still love getting these every month. They may not be the best way to collect but it’s still a lot of fun to be surprised in my opinion. 🤷♂️ I am down to about 75 titles needed still for the N64. Still need those big hitters though. 😂

First person shooters of that time period of the n64 were definitely painful , the decision on controls was definitely the biggest issue back then. I think I did most of first person shooters on pc due to controls cause controllers were not able to mimic everything you could do on pc. I’ve got both battletank games and love them both. Still awesome to get Duke nukem though. Great unboxings 🍻
Back then PC was definitely far more simple for the designers of FPS but they really did make some that worked quite well. Goldeneye and the first two Quake games come to mind right away. They hooked me up nicely with N64. I still have a handful of under $20 titles I need for the system so they still have some room to send along more value titles. 🤞🏻 For more NES too though. 🍻
The Last Ninja looks to be the winner here. The graphics look good for NES. I love the big sprites. I wonder if the camera angle will make gameplay frustrating.
Well…I was certainly happy to add Last Ninja to the set but it’s an odd game to play on the NES. Gotta get a hang on the controls and figure out what you need to do. I am sure it worked better back on the micro computers when it was new. Worth checking out if you find it for a good price but check it out on emulation first before you pony up. 🤙🏻

But everyone is looking for different things, so…They have been a solid service for me over the years though. I was doing SNES along with NES and N64 and they seemed to mix it up nicely. 🍻🤙🏻

If I had to compare the two boxes, I think April was the better of the two because you got a game on your wish list which is awesome. I wish I had more love for the N64. We have such a teeny tiny collection, but I'm thinking about playing one of my games this year to determine whether we keep the system and the games or not.
I agree about the two boxes for sure. The N64 for me is pure nostalgia. It was the first system I bought with my own money as an adult. That is what drives me to go for the set. If I had to suggest a single game as must play on the system it would be Zelda Ocarina of Time. It’s a great couch co-op machine too. A fun time with friends would still be MarioKart 64. WWF No Mercy and Goldeneye were always favorites for me too but with the 64 time hasn’t been on it’s side for a lot of games. 🤷♂️
Some sweet N64 titles! Yeah the controls on FPS N64 games is ROUGH! The Brawler 64 controller helps some but not all. Depends on whether you can remap the controls enough to make a difference. I hate inverted too except in flight games. 😁👍
On Flight Sim games the inverted controls make sense. They make no sense for anything else. 🤷♂️ I think the smart play for the old school developers on FPS games was to make the schemes customizable. Last ninja is an 8 bit micro game mate not pc (so speccy, c64 and amstrad) i didnt know it got a nes port though, some nice additions and like you i played the duke BITD on a pc...awesome!
