They sound absolutely beautiful ❤️❤️❤️❤️⭐⭐⭐⭐ and it's crazy how people still continue to say Mary didn't have a voice on her or that Scherrie and susaye weren't the supremes but they will forever and always be the supremes. Continue to rest in peace Mary Wilson and Florence Ballard 🙏🏾🕊️❤️🕯️.
At this point, they stopped in Miami, FL on their tour where my family lived in the mid-70s. I cried because I couldn't go to the hotel lounge to see them perform. But my mom brought back the program booklet for me to save. AWESOME
Thanks Bunches Tony for Sharing This 👏❤️ I Loved the response Mary gave about FLORENCE I Think FLO and Mary Had a lot Respect for each other 🕊️❤️❤️🕊️ Missing Ya Florence Blondie Ballard And Mary WILSON 🌹⭐⭐🌹
@merquryj Jean, Mary and Cindy was magical. I wished they stayed together. I wished Flo had rejoined them as well. Mary and Cindy invited her back, she was grateful, but turn them down. These other two lady was wonderful as well and seem sweet. I heard they wanted to continue after 1977, but Mary was burnt out by that time.
I LOVE the SUPREMES. MARY is FINE SHERRI GEORGOUS SUSAYE AWESOME SING Y'ALL. I THINK THEY are BETTER than Diana. EVERYONE IS SEXY!!!! Barry and Diana SHAME ON YOU. MARY is REAL. diana is phony. GIVE IT TO THEM. R.I.P MS. MARY*** ❤
The talent here was outstanding but the financial backing was not. Scherrie Payne and Susaye Greene were vocal powerhouses but it was a "crying shame" that Berry Gordy did not promote this group at all. SHAME at utmost .
I think it's so disrespectful how Mike Douglas spoke of Florence. It clearly made Mary quite upset but she handled it as gracefully as ever. What class Mary had.
It was a sincere question, Many people did wonder what happen at age 32. Mervyn, Flip and Don of Soul Train always gave them Love even when Motown and Barry tanked them and Radio would play their music. That is the reason Jean and Cindy left
After Jean and Diana left, the unique lead Supremes voice and untouchable style was gone. The post-Terrell Supremes were a good rompin'-stompin' ensemble group.. good vocals, but not "vocally special" - just not the Supremes.
Yep...and the buying public basically said 'done. Enough'. And, sorry, Mary's voice just wasn't lead calibre. Pretty, but unremarkable. The dance tracks from MS&S were terrific. On The Supremes 60s songs they sounded like a cover band.
Scherrie's lead vocals on that first verse of "I'm Gonna Let My Heart Do the Walking" are sensational. Fills me with warmth. Scherrie was always on point during this era. Never missed her cues. And maybe Susaye wasn't used to lipsynching, but she always messed up her adlibs during lipsynchs of this track. I'm sure it didn't help that they mimed to different versions of this record. Lol. And what can I say about Mary? Always in a joyous stupor. Lok Vocally, they were tops but they didn't always look in-synch on stage during this era.
The supremes were sabotaged by motown. After the departure of Diana Ross, the supremes were still selling but Diana struggle a little in the beginning of her solo career. motown was not having it.

Mary Wilson is absolutely stunning.
Mary sounds good when she sings songs written for her.

I see your responses on various sites and they are completely spot on! Mary is the bomb.
Was Susay ever with the Raeletts? Her name sounds very familiar.

Their music still was a hit in the Clubs, Especially NYC, LA, Chicago and Philly. But Radio didn't play them except in NY.
