Mary and Diana were too different for this to work. Mary came from a place of warmth and friendship -- she wanted to TALK about the reunion. Talk about the Supremes, about what she and Diana and Flo had shared and how their history could be incorporated into the show from song list to gowns to patter between songs. She wanted to plan it from the ground up. Diana came from a place of professionalism -- she wanted to iron out the financial details to get everyone on board. She already had a plan for the show; after all, she is quick to tell interviewers that she had already planned a solo tour and it was someone else that suggested a Supremes reunion tour instead. She didn't necessarily consider that Mary might have different ideas or bring a different conception of the tour to the table. She even said in one interview that "all Mary had to do was show up" -- she wouldn't have to pay for anything but just come onstage. Mary rightfully took offense to the suggestion that she was just a stage prop that only needed to show onstage.

They seemed so right together with this great performance at a time when behind the scenes it was going so wrong. According to Marys book Linda and Jean stuck together off stage excluding her, communicating with her by writing notes . The group simply disintegrated but fortunately, Mary found Scherrie and the lovely Cindy returned. Having said all that The Jean Terrell Years is still my favourite Supremes collection of work. They were always welcome here In the UK and I saw them everytime they visited. Supreme forever 🎤👄🎤👄🎤👄

I’ve never read the book to give fair judgement on the situation but Mary doesn’t seem like the bitter jealous person she was made out to be. I also don’t think Diana was a malicious person, just savagely ambitious. Whatever the case was, they are the blueprint for girl groups to this very day

Wow. I've loved Gladys since being aware of music. Never knew her life had been so hard, though. Really happy this documentary has a happy ending. Oh, and I kind of love Gladys's wonderful daughter, too...hahaha! And Bubba, of course; what a great man & brother. Huge thanks to all who made this excellent biography, and to you who posted it. These things enrich life beyond measure.

What many fail to realize is when One is Chosen it isn't up to everyone to understand WHY. Its hateful because you can love everyone but unfortunately for many you choose based upon how you view yourself..if you feel overlooked , under appreciated , invisible , handed a bad deal , unheard or cheated you'll pick the background. Ms Ross is a force and regardless how some may dislike her Whatever she did granted her generational success and wealth..What has your " gifts" granted you other than being on UA-cam talking about someone you don't like?? Lol Sounds rather stupid now doesn't it...?

I would’ve LOVED🩷💖❤️ to hear more of Flo’s voice before she was fired by Berry, but I did like how Mary “corrected” Diana about the ROYALS🤣🤣🤣Diana did MOST if not ALL of the talking so Flo and Mary both had to make the most of the time they had with Mike.👍🏽👌🏽✌🏽It a “DREAMGIRL” story except for a lot of chances but still, very SAD ending for Flo.☹️☹️☹️I still liked Diana❤️🩷💗 and Mary was just “HERSELF”.💯💯💯 I see why Berry wanted Diana for that “commercial top 40” sound with that “voice” (like NAT KING COLE fooled so many)✌🏽👍🏽👌🏽

"Bad Weather" should have been a hit, Soul Train loved it when they performed it live there (DJ's didn't have it, so I read). The songs they sang with Bob Hope were done years earlier with DRATS, featuring only Diana singing with Bob. The songs work better with Bob and the trio IMO (you get to hear each member sing).
