I think there's a missed opportunity not putting a "bed area" directly above the kitchen. I feel like the kids will outgrow the berths at the top (mine have). Huge fan of this camper!

Good stuff! Definitely an improvement over earlier TAXA product videos. Please produce a similar video on the TAXA Mantis!

I love Taxa stuff! Im not a big fan of futuristic, vintage or luxury trailers for camping. These trailer remind of of when I was a kid in the tree house. Really brings back what camping is meant to be but in style and in comfort! Hilarious yhe gray water tank was used...thats in my opinion a good sign! Lol I cant wait to get my Mantis one day! It will be perfect for my wife, daughter and I!

Pretty cool; I agree with the Jsbatch, produce one for the Mantis. I'm still trying to decipher my Mantis.

There was a leak issue with some of these. Hope it's fixed. I guess leak testing is not done.

You can build this !!! On a Prius chasis add your roof. The car is a ready made generator has ideal climate control. Devise a way to glean heat from the ICE engine heat is a byproduct use it. Want 5K of power inverter. Tie into the hybrid battery with solar so a fridge will be safe. I want to see 2 man Camper.
You get a lot of business and WORK building your little Camper ? Lookup prius camping and ponder. Ehat if 1% of the Prius owners decided to convert their prius roof and you were the best. You probably can get an appreciation for the market by saying kaching each time you see a high top van . I towed a runaway camper with my prius 60mph= 30 mpg. Your#1 market should be the disaster market.. Thousands of homes were destroyed in recent fires Hurricanes or other disasters. Workers need all the stuff a hotel offers. Probably need a way to get a change of clothes washed dryer in 8 hours or less. IMHO best way to cook is pressure cooker.

You would have to do gen 2-4 mockups there is said to be 1 million gen 2 prius sold in USA. A great number of them are still used. Lookit you do it and you will not have to advertise . Prius chat rooms will do that for you.

I think these are pretty cool units but they sure seem over engineered, All those seams and joints just seems like a maintenance nightmare.

Almost bought one but upon a closer virtual tour from dealer's site, few observations: 1) priced too high (less than $20K at most), 2) material quality (aluminum and foam grade?), birch plywood grade? At this price, having solid wood and more steel would be nice. The plywood looks... aye. The interior design is very utilitarian and a stark contrast to Barefoot for example. The good: seems solid and it fits in the garage if tires are deflated. Also if having kids, I would smooth over all the sharp edges I can already see my kiddo bump his head into one. Overall I like the simple design but question the quality of material vs. price. Using composite material (e.g., fiberglass) is something you may want to consider going forward. The general observation is that European and Asian have better designs (in everything) and it's especially true for RV, I did a lot of research & learned about our overall poor quality and design some 10 yrs behind friends overseas. Let's open up our mind and eyes and I am confident we can be on top, again. BTW, did you see that French swiss army box trailer that fits in the garage.

Updated. I end up buying one/just ordered one because there are no other choices out there. :) Consider the material are mostly "natural" rather than plastic I am hoping less VOC as well. I think this is a niche trailer and now I get it! BTW that French trailer is called Tipoon or something like that & it's still a concept... I would be afraid of getting robbed owning that so forget about it. This cricket goes well with a Subaru Outback 3.6R/XT - low key travel for the haves.

I too looked at these campers a few years ago. I had some of the same observations you had. Agreed, priced too high. And for the high price they charge, they should have less build issues. I know there isn't any "100%" problem free build camper. For the price the build quality should be better. I've read about leak issues with the Cricket and there have been more issues I've read about and seen on UA-cam videos with the Tiger Moth.

@@garretlewis4103 I really like some of the Overland small trailers coming out of AUS like the Sherpa and TVAN, both expensive but both with many innovatibe but similar features. If TAXA just went a bit farther with their designs they'd absolutely knock it out of the park.
