Both are really good cars , you can’t got wrong with either choice , just a matter of preference honestly
Camaro looks like an angry beast is running on the road
"well I can't see anything, and I am burning more fuel, this one goes to the Camaro" wat
Chevy guy will be a chevy guy no matter what xD. As a Ford guy he coulda said the mustang sucks cause this and this and this... and I still rather have one xD.
How can you not like the way the Camero top goes down..
MAAAANNNN, I cant lie.........the camaro looks more agressive. Mustang needs a sportier face to it.
That would be the Shelby
I rented a Camero convertible. The visibility was horrible and the trunk small (as these guys noted). I bought a Mustang GT convertible and I love it! It is a very “useable”.
No wonder the Camaro got canceled. The whole thing just needs to be redone from the ground up. The bumblebee era is over.
@@Rudenbehr this dummy
The curb weight for the current gen Camaro and Mustang convertible versions is almost exactly the same. The Camaro is 20 pounds more. The Camaro SS coupe is 60 pounds lighter than the Mustang GT coupe.
I average 22 in my 18 ss convertible. And dude lost credibility when he suggested the SS is only good in a straight line lol. Not a very good review 👎
Camaro for me
Needed an everyday car...drove them both. Hated the Camaro, fell in love with the Mustang. Guess it just came down to necessity and purpose over actual sportiness of the car for us. Can't really go wrong with either car for ease on the eyes...they're both beautiful cars.
Nice to meet you 🌹🌹
From what I counted Chevy got 6 points out of 10 and Ford got 8/10 , and yet verdict goes to Chevy, no wonder tour channel aint winning hearts Motor1 US!!
Did you miss what the guy said at the 6:57 mark?
I dont, just that I am saying the new Mustang is an outright better car, but if we add the points these guys said one by one the mustang scores more and yet the winner is the Camaro, just my 2 cents,
I like both cars,
If I would own one it should be the Musatng owing to higher redline and better everyday use ability
Ponygt 662 i own a 6th gen Camaro and im a realist. Ford knocked it out of the park with the 2018 Mustang its an awesome car.
I too agree with you man, I dont give a shit about lap times, but to drive I felt the 2018 Mustang amazing, its not to say the SS is bad , but on road the new Mustang felt a tad better in appeal with its active exhaust and the higher redline which was quiet easily accessible as the new 5.0 seems to rev out way more eagerly than the outgoing 435 HP 5.0
The Camaro is "old style". That is NOT a downside, but for functionality the better fuel mileage and visibility make the Mustang the winner. They're close. Very close. Being old I like (love) torque. But we have to admit that high revving engine gives nothing up in terms of performance. It FEELS different. But that's the direction cars are going, like it or not.
You get used to the sight lines in one day. Stick to your Prius Jake. If you need a special spot for your phone then you shouldn’t be driving a pony car. These cars are for enjoying life. It drives me nuts when people who would never own one of these cars or can’t afford one knit pick them to death. Hold out for a Camry convertible. Both of these are really fun cars.
Haha…yup!
Diehard camaro guy here. This is the only gen camaro that looks better than the coupe. Visibility. Just means u gotta look with a little more effort. Awesome lines come at a price. My old z28. Still have. Same way. Just when u look just stick ur head back or whatever. No big deal. Surprisingly this new camaro feels so much similar to sit in to my old 1978 z28. Seats are much more comftorable than my old cars seats though. Lol
Have not driven the new 2018 Mustang but drove a Camaro SS vert just like this one for a week and actually really really loved it. No issues for daily use believe it or not.
Those issues become more apparent when you actually live with the car long term and in many different situations. Not just a vacation or business trip
@@Spartan168 No issues for me...2 year owner of 2 6th gen Camaros and 1 5th gen....the only issue I've had was.....I can't stay out of em. 😂
@@sugerhitman1295 fair enough. I just found the cabin to be rather tight and to not have the greatest visibility. But otherwise extremely fun
I think you have been misinformed about the curb weight of these cars.I know at least that the hardtop models of these cars that the camaro is lighter.
I have the 2017 1ss convertible. The only mod was to swap for Custom 'Superman Red' leather seats, $1200.00. I'm 6'3" tall at 240lbs. 74 years old. and handicap''ed. I am so much more comfortable getting in&out of the Camaro than the Mustang. I traded a 2011 sl550 Mercedes. The Camaro is faster and handles better than any sports car I've ever owned. What I paid in repair costs for the 4 years for the SL550 is what I paid for the 2017 Camaro in total. Convertibles I've owned. 1954 xk120 Jaguar roadster, 1963 VW convertible, 1969 Chrysler 'as big as a Whale' convertible 1969 Firebird 400 convertible, Buick Riviera convertible 'Pimp Mobile',BMW 328ic convertible.( gave it to my Daughter, and my Grandson ruined it). 1995 mercedes E320 convertible, still have it'. 1992 300zxtt, 2011 e550 convertible. I have not owned a ford since the 60's when I worked on the Mustang line at Ford Motor in Fremont ca. I'd say too
many guys on the assembly line were SHIT FACED most of the time, dangerous lack of quality control.
Thanks for the insight.
The guy in the mustang just has nothing to say. The 6.2 is actually more fuel efficient with the automatic and the engine has more torque. I don't know what can possibly feel more old fashioned about the Camaro. The screen being tilted has 0 impact on visibility and I've driven both the mustang and the camaro multiple times(I'm a valet).
Now for something many might not know. I've driven dozens of convertible Mustangs at work and one thing I noticed on 90% of them is that the rear quarter windows motors are weak and struggle to close the window all the way. This results in a gap often as big as a couple inches between the front and back side windows. I am not exaggerating when I say 90% of the mustangs I've seen have this issue and online people say it needs grease or to be forced to close all the way. The convertible top on the Mustang also has a manual latch while the Camaro is full automatic.
What I'm taking from this is that if you get the Camaro, it'd probably be best if you had a daily and used the Camaro sparingly, but if money is an issue and you can only afford one car, you'd more than likely to be better off with the 'Stang
waiting on a challenger convert, now that'll get my attention
Having a crap ton of medical bills and being sick all the time sucks. Maybe in my next life I can get one or the other.
I'd pick the Mustang because not only can I take it out on the the weekend, a buddy and our girlfriends can come along. That scenario is not possible in the Camaro.
Well I've seen two guys with gf's on the back in the mustang so it's possible.
Mustang for me
Your torque numbers would go up on the 5.0L Mustang if you bolted on long tube equal length headers and a matching exhaust system. Think of it being constipated. Factories usually screw up the exhaust on the car from the factory, to keep cost down.
If I can I will get both they are all great
Did they ever go past 30 miles per hour??? Shut down your website
Interesting comparo....I'm surprised at how different these two are. As a tall guy, I actually don't like the Camaro because the seating position is so low. And I haven't liked the interior design for some time. However, Chevy is putting the power down in that old school way and that just doesn't get old. The Mustang seems to be a better overall car so I'd sacrifice some torque to get that. I liked that it still has a usable trunk, because who wants to have to put things on the seats. How did this one guy determine the winner, when there were two guys reviewing???????
1 more thing camaro looks sporty than mustang.
Mustang looks like a fusion
First thing wrong with this test the Mustang is a 10 speed automatic and the Camaro is a 6-speed if you're going to do a car test test both vehicles with the same kind of transmission how can you compare you should know how Superior to 10 speed automatic is Chevy does offer it also
Robert Johnson Chevy does offer the 10 speed in the ZL1 but not in the SS or base which get the 8 speed however that also would have been a better comparison or both manuals IMO
craig thomas 2019 camaro is going to have 10 speed auto. It's all a competing game. Mustang changes their look in 2018 after 3 years. Then camaro changes there look in 2019. Mustang came out with 4 cyl. Camaro did the next year. But mustang will always be the most selling of the because they are cheaper. Both depreciate like crazy. In 2020 the 2018 mustang gt will be around 28k. 2016 camaro ss are already around 26k now.
The 10 speed auto is a Ford and Chevy co-op design. Giving the mustang points because it came with a 10 speed auto is ridiculous. Both cars are offered with it !
This review went pretty much like I expected. The same comments about the differences in visibility and driving experience, yada, yada, yada. It's old news, but that's Ok. I guess the only part that got me a little was the one guy harping about how "fiddly" the top operation was on the Mustang. Gee, you have to release the top from the windshield header (a one handed deal that takes maybe 2 seconds, probably less) before you can operate the top. Really? And having to pull over, put up that barricade in the trunk before you can put the top down, isn't?? You know, it would have been nice if Ford had made this generation convertible a "one touch" operation deal. I'd love that too. I also like the fact that the Chevy's top can be operated with the car in motion while the Ford has to be stationary. Those are two points in the Camaro's favor from a convertible point of view. The deal breaker for me on both those counts is the fact that you lose the majority of your trunk space before you can put the top down at all. My biggest complaint with convertible hard tops is that you loose the trunk if you want to put the top down. As a general rule, that's not the case with soft tops, but not on the Chevy and as a convertible driver, that's a deal killer for me. As for the manual release from the windshield header? I own a Mustang GT convertible. It's my 3rd convertible and it's the first one I've owned that didn't have two manual release points from the windshield at the opposite corners so I think that single center point release is GREAT! Having an automatic release when you push the button would have been better but even still, this is a big leap forward for me. I guess it all depends on our point of view! ;-)
But does as tested mean ?
Both are phenomenal cars. I highly recommend the Camaro SS, if you're on the edge of buying one. Do it, no regrets here, just smiles per mile!
Wonder if I could be a test driver with high risk insurance lol.....hey.. Im alive so it shows something with my speeding tickets lol
Another thing to consider is reliability. Which one do you think breaks down more? We all know the answer to that.
I don't. Honestly
Both will put a smile on my face. Aftermarket parts are cheaper for the mustang. It will cost less to get the mustang over 600 horsepower. Only reason I own a mustang.
60k for a mustang 2009 GTR HERE I COME
Did you get the gtr yet?
lame...to say the camaro engine is less just because some euro style bias...total BS, the camaro is point for point as nice and as well mannered car as the mustang or any BMW...
I doubt you have driven a bmw in equal spec to the Camaro
Nobody wants to drive a overpriced pos bmw
Aftermarket for 5.0 is much better
That’s a Camaro Hot Wheels edition
Daily driver = Mustang
Weekend fun = Camaro
Daily driver = CamaroWeekend fun = Camaro....how do I know? Been driving my 17 SS Manual every day now since 2/2017
matrox right on bub :)
Same here, mine is my daily.
LOL
I see this was filmed on Belle Isle in Detroit 🖤
Why do you sound like that guy from Motor Trend?
How tall r you ? I saw your legs are like not complete extend. It is confortable ? Mustang
Muscle car convertibles are so ugly IMO.
It was at 666 likes when I got here. Not anymore. I hit that like button.
They should have reviewed a corolla , the whole video is two men crying like two little girls. We are in trouble!!
lol
I like the Mustang. Better looking, better visibility, more cargo space.... but what reviews such as these miss are the details that occur with ownership. One example: rear quarter window function. On the Mustang, after a year of ownership the folding top is no longer well aligned with those windows - and you have to pull them, by hand, to get complete closure.
That said, that is the ONLY thing I don’t like about it. It works very well as a daily driver... and as a daily driver, I can drop the top all the time (depending on weather of course!). I don’t need to wait for the weekend!
We had the same issue with a mustang conv rental. A little bit of pain. It seems to be an issue with them all.
You have to put silicone spray on the top of the windows and in the jams when this happens. You won't have to pull them after that.
I agree with the Verdict. The Camaro is the better car to own. I am gonna gripe however over your ridiculous over dramatization of the visibility. I'm 6'0. I don't have any uncertainty about changing lanes in traffic etc. The visibility difference between the cars is honestly minute. Beyond that with the seating position being lower and more focused on the driver I find myself feeling MORE confident, comfortable and connected in the Chevrolet. I Love both of these cars. I test drive both of them with and open mind and after driving them back to back the decision was simple. I bought the Chevrolet
If you think the visibility issue is minute you're not a very good driver. The blind spots in the Camaro is HUGE if you're actually concerned about them as a good driver should be. The ride in the Camaro is rough over public roads and there's a reason the mustang outsells the Camaro when the cars are actually bought by consumer's use. The mustang is just a better daily driver.
That’s why people don’t get a convertible in the Chevy it’s more raw the easy to drive and I never seen a convertible Chevy Camaro ss
Mustang for the look
How much less gas efficient the 6 speed is than the 10 speed auto. O ok.
Why not the camaro ZL1
Camaro for my
The Chevy has the best muscle car looks. The guy riding the Ford jock only made one good point. Fuel economy. That was it. Everything else was purely subjective. Be real, anyone buying one of these cars isn't looking for good gas mileage. They are looking for a fun ride. The Camaro is that fun ride.
Stan Jordan Yeah its your own taste...And the Chevy has the best muscle car looks for you...And fun fact on the night car meets you mostly see Mustangs and Challengers and you can only see the Older Camaro's wich were good.
The mustang was never a muscle car to begin with, it defined the pony car, which they are returning to. So you saying the Camaro being a better muscle car is pointless.
Mustang is way cooler than camaro
Camaros and Mustangs are both pony cars, not muscle cars. Muscle cars are Challengers and Chargers, etc. Mustangs were the first ones to define pony cars lol
Grapes Yes, you are finally right.
I find my eyeballs are learing more at the Camaro sexy body a lot more. And damn if you are going to test American muscle...get an efffing manual!
Your eyes will look at a plane crash too...lol...that Camaro is ugly and no one drives like magazine evaluation driver's do so please stop with the handling, steering feel, power down stuff. In everyday driving these cars handle virtually identical except for on rough roads in which case the mustang is better more comfortable ride.
@@rickmassey1272 Let me guess..you drive a Honda Accord....and with an automatic...and with a coffee can muffler and cardboard wing.😁
good job for you I like
Manual vs 10 speed auto? Really?
the mustang comes in a manual they botched this test by not getting a manual mustang
Put stats together not one at a time
Camaro much better top as it seals the deal. Nothing to worry about bugs and trash hiding.
I dnt even wanna watch the video why put a Manuel against an automatic
great
Mustang is much better right now one thing I don't like is that rear end is too wide but all new sport cars are like that to accommodate those huge tires (perhaps unnesessary).
The camaro handles better and it too has brembo brakes, the technology is better, the coupe version of the camaro are lighter than the stang coupe, I will say the mustang u can see out of better
I will keep my 69 camaro
1 more thing. Mustang sounds better!
CAMARO CONVERTIBLE PARA ESTAR SERIO Y REIRME BELLEZA INDESCUTIBLE CHEVROLET GUSTAVO A COLORADO H DE MEDELLIN ANTIOQUIA COLOMBIA GRACIAS HASTA SIGO ....
If you can't see out of it...well... that's kinda important.... right?.The mustang is just ergonomically a better daily driver. These video guys parrot what they read in car magazines about handling, and steering feel don't realize in everyday driving YOU NEVER DRIVE THE CAR THE WAY THE MAGAZINE GUYS DO WHEN THEY EVALUATE THOSE THINGS. In everyday driving the handling on both is virtually identical, except for potholes and rough roads, and EVERYONE notices that the Camaro is a worse riding car. As for driving dynamics that matter,COMFORT, the mustang wins. Seating position,( I can rest my arm on the top of the driver's door) while driving,I can see better out of the mustang, the media interface is better, more trunk space for weekend getaways and mileage....THE MUSTANG WINS.
Till your 3to4 shift fork blows and Ford doesn't fix it right a way and 4 months later they say there gonna cover it Ford has had so many failers with motor and transmission fuel pumps I don't know if it's worth it 2018 was horrible for problems let's hope that they get better or sales are gonna drop
The BIG guy is a chevy lover all the way. Did you notice in the chevy his knees's were banging into the dash! Why wouldn't the chevy be a "bit" more powerful when you have a 5.0 Ford and a 6.2 litre Chevy?! Duhhhh
Hi
Camaro, hands down, no contest
Finally WTH is up with yalls Avg fuel efficiency? You forget that there are 6 gears to shift into? My 6 speed 2SS has avgd 22mpg combined over the last 20k miles driven. That includes Car Show cruises/parades, 1/4mile runs, track days and driving it like i stole it everytime I drive it (it's my DD).
To the Ford jock rider of these two the LT1 "is sort of a lazy engine..." It revs to 6700rpm (for reference the 15-17 5.0 revs to 7,000) and it is the quicker revving engine of the two. Stick both in neutral jab the throttle and the LT1 snaps up the R's quicker. Hell the LT4 with blower belt drag slowing it down raps quicker than the Damn NA 5 2 Voodoo SMH
The mstand is the best
Maybe only to my eyes the Camaro looks more aggressive flat and wide the mustang looks feminine rounded to me
$58,000 as tested.....
WOW...
Hi
Just said the camaro is a couple hundred pounds heavier 😂
Camaro still look like a top down pick up truck
I guess its true, chicks do prefer the mustang to the camaro!
elitist m They go for the luxury sport
Who's talking about girls? I was referring to the ambiguosly gay englishman liking the mustang.
I asked many chicks and they said the camaro looks cooler, pls dont be delusional
elitist m wrong . Lmao
Nice but both are unexclusive
Nice to meet you 🌹🌹
5.0
The convertible in the mustang (which I own) is great since you don't HAVE to pull over to, well, convert (unless using the covers). I can't drive the cam daily even with auto. Too small and ergonomics are awkward
GB You don’t have to pull over to put the top down on the camaro. As a matter of fact you can put it up or down while driving up to 30mph
The British guy seems like a GM hater like bruh talk about biased
Got a mustang but damn, rather have the Camaro, don’t care about the visibility too much and Camaro looks better hands down, mustang still a beast tho, just wish it was better looking
Firstly, can't talk about gas mileage when you're comparing auto to manual. Secondly, the visibility of the Camaro isn't nearly as bad as being portrayed. Thirdly, having to rev a car high to get some grunt isn't my idea of fun. And the last reason I'd never buy a Mustang is reliability. The 3rd gen Coyote engine is turning out to be a disaster.
Johnnyboy5520 i own a 6th gen and will say the visibilty is not what I would consider as "great". I have a 2SS so cross traffic alert and lane change assist are a HUGE plus in this car. And lets be honest here would you dare try and back this car up in unfamiliar surrounds without the backup camera? I know I sure as shit wouldnt.
Properly adjusted seat and mirrors take care of most of the complaints. Is the visibility as good as my econobox? No, but it's very manageable.
I use the camera because it's too useful not to. Hence the mandate to have it in all vehicles. Do I need it? No. I still forget that it's there sometimes.
Third gen coyote is a disaster? lol I know people already supercharging them with 700+ hp and having no issues
Well, I can't say it affects all. What I can say is quite a few (an uncomfortably large number) have had a rattling sound that has led to either short or long block replacements on some. To see what I'm talking about google '2018 mustang rattle', or search youtube for the same. Watch them and let me know what you think.
Yes, when there's confirmation bias you can find anything on the internet.
Search trump is a racist and you will find info on him being a racist
Hell search Camaro makes rattling sound and i guarantee you will find info on it.
get it?
There is nothing old fashioned about the 6th Gen Camaro. Short nerdy guy should do some research before doing a review. Both cars are great but there’s just too many Crowd killers out there.
Camaro is the easy winner, better looking, better handling and more power. If you want good mpg go buy a Prius
Why do they talk about them like they r going to use them as every day cars they r sports cars not daily drivers btw respect others cars dont be baby fanboys in the chat
If the mustang had more torque it would be the favorite
I have a 2018 camaro 2ss convertible and ive also had the 2018 mustang gt i can honestly say the camaro is 1000000 times the better car i love my camaro
The camaro is the Hot Wheels edition
Camaro for me.
I had a Camaro couldn’t see 💩, the Mustang GT I just got not even close!
I hate convertibles with V8s in them. Makes me sad that it’s never going to be driven right.
😍 mustang
The base Mustang gt looks like more like a girly car.
Mustang always great
$60k for these panel gaps for these two. Definelty not a car for the every man. At least the Mustang you can see out of. The camaro is useless with that horrid sightlines. Thank you guys for touching on this
You can see out of the camaro just fine. I swear people love exaggerating it
Yep...more typical Fake News.
Visibility is fine in the camaro.
Blake Swan Let me set you and everyone else straight once and for all. The visibility is not an issue. The appearance of limited visibility is an illusion. Seeing more of the pavement below window level wont affect your driving ability unless you like driving alongside curbs, without hitting them. Got it? Now, a higher roof for more visibilty? To see what? A UFO up in the sky?! The F’kn street is down in front of you, not up above. Rear window? No one is back there because Camaros leave them, sittin still, back at the last traffic signal. Seee what i mean? Just a bunch of whiney crap about nothing!!! So....STFU
Raúl The Camaro is an awesome car, but don't deny the visibility issues it has!
It's not just one or two reviewers but it's pretty much across the board!
Only the Camaro purist will say it doesn't have visibility issues.
That being said the car is just so damn dialed in it's something that I would learn to live with.
Chevy 👍
You made both cars sound worse then how they are.
Glad to see Ford putting love into these newer cars... from 2011 and up it just seems like they are doing it better than chevy. No matter that chevy lovers say.. Ford is winnning!
El Frosty stocks argue different ;)
Carter Spratlin sales dude! Mustang outsells Camaro F150s outsell silverados . Ford is just better. Why do you think chevy copies Ford ?
El Frosty Chevy copies ford??? You’re joking right??? That is the most hilarious thing I’ve ever seen. Chevy is owned by gm who outsells ford completely don’t hit me with that bullshit. Also for many years the Camaro outsold the stang the only reason it isn’t anymore is Bc Gm refuses to price it competitively so the pieces of junk stangs are sold instead
Carter Spratlin your telling me ford went retro, and Chevy and dodge didn’t copy ? LOL you’re funny! In fact camaro is a rip off of mustang that’s why they are getting discontinued AGAIN HAHA. And just looking at the Silverado you can tell they are wannabe F150s. Chevy thinks they can strap on more HP and makes cringey commercials about how “ we are better than Ford. Please believe us!” LOL also Ford didn’t get bailed out like GM did xD
El Frosty They didn’t copy that retro style. Lol talking about something you know nothing about makes sense typical mustang fan girl. They aren’t getting discontinued they are getting updated to a new platform. Maybe you should inform your precious ford about that word. Update. Seems like they produce the same garbage every year. Obviously you’re blind if you think the Silverado looks anything like the f150. Both companies make cringy commercials its the name of the game. Let’s talk about how many times Ford was in the verge of bankruptcy too or are we going to forget about that too?
a
