    We are all super chill in class. We've got an agreement, if they don't feel like listening, they can do whatever they want unless they're disturbing others. Since the classes are interesting, I had no student doing "whatever they want".

    INTPs would have trouble following the curriculum because they'd just want to talk about/do what interests them. They would also hate planning, and feel deep regret when faced with the consequences of assigning essays to their classes. (The consequences, of couse, are that they must read/grade those essays, and the essays will be disastrously terrible, almost without exception.)

      I always did follow the curriculum for the delayed gratification of a career that never came, sigh

    • @jay5010
      @jay5010 3 роки тому +54

      Okay but to be fair, the curriculum tends to be painfully stupid. Kids are being taught a bunch of stuff they will never need and will never be able to connect to anything. It's like being given a puzzle piece, except there is no puzzle. I'd totally go off on tangents about things they wouldn't be tested on, but would actually be interesting and hopefully helpful later on.
      Which is exactly why I'll stay in the field and the lab and not venture into the classroom. Oh, that and because of sozialization, kids can be vicious.

      Yeah I’m and intp and am pretty laid back in general when it comes to rules / regulations and forcing things on people in any situation. I don’t really care what u do or believe as long as it doesn’t directly affect me in some way. If I was a teacher, I would be there just to teach the kids, not force them to learn or do shit, as long as u don’t disrupt others who want to learn and don’t disrespect me, I don’t give a fuck what u do. Oh and also not bullying someone or picking on someone heavily, I’ll crack down on that but that being said, even though it sounds cruel, getting picked on is still important to learning certain things and I’ve had my fair share of being picked on just like everyone who’s different from the rest. People are afraid of others who are different, and I would say without the experiences I had when I was younger that were tough, I wouldn’t have learnt the things I have today. Even though I think like an intp and am an intp on personality tests, I adapted the behaviours of istp traits in my actions it seems

      You wouldn't last long. They don't keep teachers around when their students fail, especially in classes unrelated to underwater basket weaving. You wouldn't actually be doing anyone any favors, either -- in fact, you'd be doing more harm than good. Also, competency must be assessed. I'm guessing you're about 10 or 12 and having problems in school.

      @@angelbear_og From my observations, students "fail" because the system failed them. I bet no one would fail if they're given the freedom of learning the way they want to.
      And no, I am not 12 but I come from a country which needs major educational reforms, where students are just treated as factory products which are to be manufactured and delivered to the society rather than as actual human beings. The societal pressure leaves us very few courses to choose and everyone is expected to excel at it.
      I have personally been quite food with my grades at school, but I have realised how faulty and inconsistent the system is. I have seen a lot of potential people but they're losing their creativity and just living like lifeless robots(ironic that I'm the INTP haha) because of the environment they're put through.
      I just want to teach the way I've always wanted to be taught.

    btw, the INTJ one was appropriately timed. Yesterday, a student in my physical science class said there was a black hole under Antarctica. Before I could say anything, the other kids immediately jumped on her and called her all kinds of names. So, think before you ask a question, yeah....except with this student, this was an example of her thinking! When I explained how black holes work and that you can't have them on earth, she was amazed and asked where they were. The other kids screamed "space, OMG!" at her, and I had to explain for a while before she could understand. I even tried to clarify by asking her if a cave was what she was talking about, saying "do you mean a cave, a big black hole in the ground?" And I think she did!!

    ISFJ teacher here...actually, I've never had a disciplinary issue or loud talking after the bell in my own class (30 years as a teacher). Many students have later told me, "Your class was really fun and I always learned a lot, but....I was pretty scared of you at first." I did really strive to make my classes fun (with an English class, you pretty much have to or be prepared to wake up the nappers), but I DO get intense about getting value out of every single minute! So maybe intensity saved the day. I appreciated every single student that I've ever had and tried to connect with them as real people who had other things to do than just be in my class. ***how funny, after reading tons of comments, I think there are more ISFJ teachers out there than nurses!

      Probably it was just that the similar vibes made them get along better. If you actually sat them together based on their actual zodiac signs, it wouldn't have changed anything. Btw, I just saw several statements of Indian female scientists who basically fled to the West to escape astrology because astrology dictates so much in their lives, like whom to marry and when to take what medicine, and they are deeply worried about the rise of astrology in the West and how it's perceived as harmless while it actually harms many people. So just fyi that astrology is something to be careful about.

    • @lolavedette7566

      @@solar0wind Astrology doesn't harm people. People harm people. As long as humans are involved, the motivation can always be questionable, anyone depending that much on one tool IS the problem, not necessarily the tool itself. No matter what it is in life, trying to one size fits all astrology, medicine, politics or education is always going to flop.

    • @solar0wind
      @solar0wind 3 роки тому +2

      @@lolavedette7566 That's the same argument as saying guns don't hurt people because people do. The thing is that without a certain belief you first have to find an excuse to do something bad; with that belief you already have it, so you're way more likely to actually do it. If e.g. superstitious Indians didn't believe that there's a right time to take medicine that's different from what the doctor said, they'd be more open to actually listen to the doctor.

    I'm an ESTJ who used to be a high school teacher and I was actually told by the principal at one point that I had to stop giving strict daily let's-see-if-you-actually-did-the-reading quizzes because they were causing too much stress.

    So most of my school teachers are ENTJs, ESTJs, ISFPs, one ISFJ and the rest of them ISTJs.
    (And my maths teacher could be an ENTP)
    Edit: so maybe that's the reason I hate school...?
