Homemade 9mm Gallery Gun
Вставка
- Опубліковано 4 тра 2024
- This is another one of my homemade guns. I built this gun about eight or nine years ago. This single shot bolt-action rifle is chambered in 9mm Luger and was designed and built specifically to be a gallery gun or a youth gun. I wanted a short action, low recoil rifle. The receiver is unique in that it is square, with a square bolt inside it. The stock Kentucky Coffee tree with a grind to fit Pachmayr buttpad and uses an AK style pistol grip. It has a 3MOA Burris red dot. The barrel is 16.5" long and was made from a Green Mountain barrel blank (1:10 twist). It has two rear locking lugs/wings, an extractor and uses a unique trigger mechanism inside a homemade trigger housing. I have several other homemade guns, if this is something you like please let me know and I will make more videos. Let me know in the comments if you have any questions. Thanks, be safe and God bless.

Cute little gun...nicely done!
Thank you Mr Serbu, it means a lot coming from you. I'm a big fan of your channel and your guns.
honestly green mountain needs to sponsor you, you have a project with so many of their barrel blanks! i wanna make a 9mm bolt action as well but for suppressed
I wish they would! I do use them a lot, and Shilen also makes some really accurate barrels. As always thanks for commenting.
Suppressed? Why not go with .45ACP, for subsonic ammo?
Best designed ❤
you must be a merchant in the Fallout series, huh? lol
You are either a engineer or should be one. Great design and great thinking out side the box.
Thank you sir. I am an electrical engineer of all things.
@@garage.guy.3006 Engineering is engineering.
Love the concept of a 9mm bolt action instead of a 22lr
Honestly that's a very impressive firearm, one of the few homemade firearms I've seen that actually looks safe and practical.
Thank you for the kind words
What a neat little piece. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, and I appreciate the comments
I used to own a shotgun with a very short stock relatively. loved it, could wear thick jackets and had no problem putting it to my shoulder.
That's really cool. Nicely done.
Thank you sir. And thanks for commenting
Excellent work, sir!
Thanks, and thanks for the comment
I like the locking wing part of the design, very neat. Someday I would like to start building .22's.
Thank you, I'm glad you like it
I am very impressed, well done!
Thank you , and thanks for commenting
That's really cool.
Amazing art! Congratulations!
Thank you
i like that bolt design, very clever!
Glad you like it!
Goes to show no matter what guns they take we can always make new ones with a little bit of engineering
oh awesome
Welcome to being the nü arms manufacturer
youre in the state of art
Thank you, and thanks for commenting
That is pretty cool.
Thanks I'm glad you like it
有趣的闭锁!很棒👍🏻
its certainly unique...... I love it
Thanks I'm glad you like it. Yeah I've never made anything similar to it before or since.
@@garage.guy.3006 Should do what Holmes did.. Sell a book of blueprints
I have thought about it. Maybe one day when things slow down. I appreciate the encouragement!
Very neat.
Thanks!
Thats very cool man
Thanks you sir
Good Stuff
Glad you like it
Lovely!!
Unfortunaly I live in Europe. Can only dream about..
Nice to know it has European approval. Thanks for watching and commenting
sweet!
very interesting design, well done you did a great job on the build, with such talent you def need to get a 3D printer
Thank you sir for the kind words
Nice!👍
Thanks for the visit
Nice
Thanks! And thanks for commenting
Wow, very cool!
Thank you!
@garage.guy.3006 you've definitely come up with some great ideas. That's definitely one of them!
It wouldn't be all that difficult to add a couple pins or keys or some sort of hard stop to that top cover for alignment if you were so inclined. Neat design as always.
Thanks. Yeah a few pins would probably really keep it lined up
I love it man I think you did a great job. I'm a big fan of improvised and home built firearms. You should next work on putting an ejector tab on that, I see it looks like you got your extractor or maybe the shells just dumped out easy but if you don't have your extractor you should put an extractor and ejector tab in it to aid in clearing the spents. Nice and quiet it seems. Obviously because it's a nice long barrel on a closed bolt system firing 9 mm which may have been sub-sonics?
Thanks. I think those were super sonic rounds. It does have an extractor, but no ejector. If you check out my de lisle inspired build videos you can see one with an ejector (and it's multi shot). Thanks again for watching and commenting
@@garage.guy.3006 yeah I didn't check the other videos of the bill yet or see the teardown process. But actually judging by how you just can dump the spents out upon reflection is pretty obvious you have an extractor which is all you really need for a single shot. But I still think an injector would be cool unless you're collecting the brass. Just a simple tab soldered or whatever into the side of the upper receiver that rides in a small recess cut into your bolt would work great. Great builds I'm subscribed and I'm happy to be watching.
Update the design to hold more rounds and make another one!!! Best of luck cant wait for the next one.
Thanks. If you look on my channel at the videos on the De Lisle inspired rifle I think that is what you are looking for.
New subscriber, very cool rifle! Curious did you use 1018 steel? Aka mild steel?
Thanks and good question. I made that one so long ago I have forgotten. But I probably used a fairly high yield strength carbon steel for the receiver and locking lugs, mild for the rest. Thanks for watching, subscribing and commenting
Very cool. I still don't understand how the sear interacts with the firing pin. I didn't see a hammer.
Thanks! The sear screws directly into the firing pin. Think of it more like a striker fired weapon. Thanks for commenting
In your description you said to let you know if this is something we like & want to se more of…Yes ,like it,yes, want to see more of it. That’s a cool looking little gun. You mentioned a company below (green mtn.?.). I would love to make a little quiet gun similar to your,if not exactly like it. Like every thing about it. On video seems Real Real quiet .is the microphone on the camera cutting out like they do on some videos with a loud cracking noise happens.?.?DK if you have ever noticed that happening. Mostly Ive noticed it on older videos. DK much about cameras, mics etc. thx for showing us your creation. I need to look into the legality’s , 1st & foremost of course. But interesting for sure.
Thanks for the compliments. Green Mountain made the barrel blank I used. When I shoot I am at a public range, so lots of time you hear other people shooting somewhere down the line.
Reminds me of a precharged pneumatic rifle .and also an anti tank rifle . you need a scope on it.. i bet its capable of bench rest accuracy on account of its barrel harmonics or basically lack of them from sheer thickness and material
Thanks. It's got a bull barrel for sure.
@@garage.guy.3006 maybe next build a 9mm ejecting gas delayed blowback single shot sort of like the swiss tube action guns .. ever re chamber old junk condition guns you buy with a corroded chamber but perfect rifling into a handgun calibers like 7.62x25. .45 colt .40 s&w and.32 ACP or s&w. Built myself a .45 long colt gahendra martini saddle ring carbine from a $79 pre 1898 junk condition gun it's awesome. Very accurate almost no recoil not extremely loud . Maybe you should get a few pre 1898 actions and re barrel em in whatever you want . A .300 AAC Peabody martini would be kinda cool
I am a sucker for the martini actions
I don't understand why no one is making hiltsction rifles in pistol calibers especially 9mm and .45acp.
I would also love a gate loading lever action in 9mm.
At the moment 9mm is the only semi affordable centerfire cartridge you can shoot in bulk.
Thanks. Yeah you just don't see that many manual action 9mms. But fun and cheap to shoot
Cool Rifle. Was the firing pin supposed to also be the ejector? If so, it seems like a clever idea that didn't quite turn out right. 🤔
Thank you. No I never planned for it to have an ejector, it being a single shot I don't mind pulling them out. If you look at my delisle inspired 45 video you can see one where I put an ejector in.
First of all there is nothing wrong with simplistic, but functions well and doesn’t look like a slam fire pipe gun to sell at police buy back events. Your build shows planning and execution and good woodworking skills. My questions are:
How did you make the receiver and bolt components ?
How’s the barrel attached ?
How did you headspace the gun ?
Have you thought about building another one except in 22 Hornet ?
Thanks. I used a metal lathe and mill mostly. Almost all of the barrels I put threads on and torque them down. For most of my guns I will at least use a go gauge for headspace check. I have built a few 22 hornets (check out my channel). But thanks again, and thanks for commenting
I would absolutely love to have something like this for plinking! Do you sell dimensionend prints for this stuff?
I'm glad you enjoy it. Sorry, nothing is currently available. Maybe one of these days. But again thanks for watching and the compliment.
@@garage.guy.3006 well if you ever consider it, I'm sure you'd find a number of people interested. Keep us posted if you change your mind.
👏👏👏
Is it possible to design and make a double barrel break action shotgun as a potential next project or bolt action shotgun
Well I haven't done a break action before, but I've considered a single shot. I do have a 28 gauge barrel I've been wanting to use. So a bolt action shotgun may definitely be in the future. Thanks for commenting
Make a 7.62x39 bolt action and test how accurate it is😊😊
Good idea. I've got a 6.5 Grendel that I'm almost done with, after that I was thinking of an 8.6 blackout.
How did you mount the barrel ??? I don't see much of a trunion
Good question. It screws into the receiver. There is about 1/2" of threads connecting the two. Thanks for commenting
@@garage.guy.3006 good to know, thanks for sharing your builds and designs. I love these type of videos!!
I thought you meant 9mm Flobert at first With ball cartriges it was a populer gallery r gun here in France till WW1 when 6mm Flobert BB caps took over Now 50 9mm Flobert ball cartriges are about 55 dollats and since they are rimfire they cant be reloaded
Do you sell blueprints for it?
No sorry, nothing is available
why not have a angled magazine feeding it from the side? it would be easy with tube stock
Good idea, kind of like a sten gun. Maybe next time
@@garage.guy.3006 just add a tab of metal to stop it from chambering rounds for if it's blowback operated that way it doesn't always full auto mag-dump
@@garage.guy.3006 may also choose to think about a re-work for the new 5.7 rounds
I have thought about that, some of the more obscure chamber reamers are hard to find. I've got a 6.5 Grendel I'm working on now
Nice 🤔it's begging for a can
Thanks. With a can and sub sonic ammo it would be quiet.
Now do one in .45 ACP, subsonic.
Check out my channel, the de Lisle inspired 45 videos
All .45 acp is subsonic
That stock looks like it goes to the gym 5x a week and only does legs
Yeah it's a odd bird. Some of my newer ones are better proportioned for sure. Thanks
Welp, guess im in a watchlist now
1830s look hmm red dot pic rail ak pistol grip silencer hmm yea right
Well... Inspired by the 1890s to 1930s guns. Thanks for watching
nice hobbie
hope you got a tax stamp that's a sbr according to the gay t f
Naw the barrel is over 16" and total length is over 26". All is well
@@garage.guy.3006 good cover your bases atf is retarded love the build man
As if that somehow makes it super dangerous.
Please help me to learning how made 12gage or16,20,24gages making ❤very thans,IHave a barrel 12magazin calibr 92centimeter, makes back single shot but cxplowed back bolet,😢
America, used to be the land of tinkers and inventors (not just Ai or Biotech only, like now), being from India, it always inspired me, but this present Woke, Liberal and lefts have poisoned it.
It’s still the land thinkers & inventors & tinkerers .Not just Americans, people all around the world are coming up with cool stuff. This guy is proof.& Im messing around with all sorts of stuff in my shop all the time. Always have. What ever pops into my mind. Some inspiration from something I see,a lot from necessity or just something totally random/totally out of the blue .& apologies in advance if I’m way off base here & It’s certainly not 1 bit of my biz & downright presumptuous of me to read a short comment & start forming a image of you and what you may be doing with your time , but it happens like that now & then. Only human,no perfection here. Comment just sounds like something has gotten you into a bad mood, lumping every one in one pile & a little maybe even a little cynical . I know a guy who gets all worked up & worried about things now & then. As far as I can tell, he’s spending way to much time trying to figure out political mess and stuff he sees or reads about in the “news”.much better mood when I go by & get him & take him out on a nature walk, fishing or something like that. IF..it might apply to you, just a suggestion, don’t watch to much news & social media. It can mess with your mental state, does mine anyway…if i allow it to.. I do enjoy watching a little UA-cam .Stuff like this guys cool home made 9mm bolt gun.As far as social media,YT ,that’s it. Catch up on world news occasionally, when I stumble across a credible source or if I hear ppl talking about something interesting . You might say im living like an ostrich with my head buried in the sand, and you might be right… to a certain extent. I just deal with people in a 1 on 1 ,person to person ,day to day type of way. It’s the best way I know & it’s working pretty good ,IMO that is. I like to think im a open minded person with a fairly positive attitude…most of the time that is. I can get in a mood now & then too…Just like 99.7% of ppl. But as far as I can tell,a lot of People are good, and things are going to be fine. Not all ppl & not all things, but more than 1\2.!. I’ll take it..Hope you have a good day.
Nice 👍
