  • Опубліковано 10 чер 2018
  • Si sits down with two former midfield maestros and a couple of no bad patter merchants in Ian Durrant and Derek Ferguson as they discuss the good old days when both were playing for their boyhood club, Rangers.
The lads are in fine form as they reel off the stories about breaking through, the Souness days, dressing room banter and nightlife as well as addressing the rough times they experienced including one or two violent incidents on and off the pitch.
As candid an interview as you'll see with 2 Rangers legends so sit back and enjoy the laugh!

I always thought Durrant was one of Scotland's best players and - even though I'm a Celtic fan - I felt quite sad when he got his leg done. I thought he would never play again and he was so good I felt it was it was a bit of a tragedy. The fact that he did come back and played so well is a real testament to him and shows the type of person you need to be to play at the highest level. He would've walked in to any team in the world at one point. Really good interview this one.

The groundsman Dougald who they talk about at 44-45 mins was my godfather Dougald Donelly! I was told about this clip by the retired C of S minister who spoke at his funeral service, which is why I came on here to watch this. Apparently Dougald liked to name drop on Rangers players including Ally McCoist. When me and my bro were at primary school, he sent us both Rangers banners (triangular shaped with tassles) which we hung on the bedroom wall. Dougald died very recently. R i p. he was a character. I hope there are some other people connected with Rangers and possibly a few players who remember him!

Being a Celtic man didn’t think I’d watch this but so glad I did thought both guys came across really well Ian Durrant in particular he showed no bitterness about that horrible tackle just tried to get the best out of his career what a great player he was especially before his injury he could have played in any team in the world he really was that good

As a Killie supporter from a wee boy of 7 to now a 71 year old pensioner it is always good to hear good things about your team from players that arrived from big clubs, just a pity we could not have seen an interview with the great Tommy Burns, well done SI ( love your choice of interviewees) and well done Durranty and Derek, absolutely brilliant interview, both coming over well and clearly looking after yourselves. Mon the Killie

Durranties recollection of the nine months he spent at Lillishall recovering from his wrecked knee and not feeling sorry for himself because others were there with worse injuries was so humbling. Like Derek said very few footballers would have the mental fortitude to come back from his injury. Brilliant watch.

Another fantastic interview. There's a pattern with players like Derek, Ian Durrant, Ally McCoist.. Barry Ferguson. Playing for Rangers meant everything to them.. Somehow, Steve G needs to find quality players who really support the Gers and know what it means to put on the Royal Blue.

Falkirk had a fine team back then despite the crumbling ground. Players like Stevie Fulton, Gordon Marshall and even Chris Waddle for a while lol. Two top blokes typical Glesga humour They shouldve ,could've held their own v anyone. Believe Derek could've been Souness type as in played with quiet arrogance at same time oozed class ,protection for team\mates. Their era every good team had central playing hard tackling ,fearless type. Souness my belief would've moulded Derek similar to himself with Durrant moulded like Bobby Russel/Kenny Dalglish .But .....
