I'm a Rangers man and had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know Mr Burns (I worked in a video shop in Newton Mearns that the Burns family used) and can honestly say he was one of the nicest people I ever met.Also,and less important,a great footballer.I now pass his gravestone everyday when out walking my dogs and can still hear him say "call me Tam "(I always called him Mr Burns).R.I.P Mr Burns.

I remember writing to him when I was about 14, wee Brian McLaughlins Mum had passed away and I asked Tommy to play him cos he maybe needed it, Brian scored and Tommy handwrote a letter back to me thanking me for picking the team. Will never forget that. Also I got my photo taken with him when I was about 5 on the pitch during his Testimonial against Liverpool, still have it framed. Cried when he died and crying now. He was my hero and like his daughter said, he makes you want to be a better person, even still I try and do what Tommy would do.

At Old Firm games, I really enjoyed watching Tommy, a player of pure class and also spoke the facts and a Gentleman at the same time. I know Davie Cooper was waiting to see Tam, when he went tae Heaven. For me, I loved the Rangers Celtic games, more than at any other time following the Rangers, at the period he played for his club, the old Celtic park was fantastic for the atmosphere, especially when he showed his sublime talent. And jeez, I was there in the Rangers end, when 10 men won the league, I was 13 at the time, that game broke my wee heart, I'm just glad there was a television cameraman strike at the time, so we didn't have to see it on the telly. I never forgave C Jackson for that own goal, with 13 mins to go. RIP TAM
I cried that night too but for different reasons I was up the celtic end but the tears were of happiness I to was 13 it was also the 1st championship I saw the tic clinch. At Old Firm games, I really enjoyed watching Tommy, a player of pure class and also spoke the facts and a Gentleman at the same time. I know Davie Cooper was waiting to see Tam, when he went tae Heaven. For me, I loved the Rangers Celtic games, more than at any other time following the Rangers, at the period he played for his club, the old Celtic park was fantastic for the atmosphere, especially when he showed his sublime talent. And jeez, I was there in the Rangers end, when 10 men won the league, I was 13 at the time, that game broke my wee heart, I'm just glad there was a television cameraman strike at the time, so we didn't have to see it on the telly. I never forgave C Jackson for that own goal, with 13 mins to go. RIP TAM
I cried that night too but for different reasons I was up the celtic end but the tears were of happiness I to was 13 it was also the 1st championship I saw the tic clinch. ( it wouldn't be the last) just an all round gentleman liked by all in the game not many celtic/ rangers players get that sort of respect RIP Tommy YNWA HH
