Genuine question: why would home office allow the students to switch from a student visa with no confirmation from their sponsors - the university? Also, I recall back in 2012, my project supervisor said I could complete a PHD for 1 year because of the result I got during my MSC. so I guess with the new changes, that will not apply again 😅
Lol the PHD completion got me rolling on the floor 😂😂. Where you able to complete that under 1 year because I know PHD is either 3 years (full time) or 5 years (part time). For your question, as at that point they needed workers especially in care sector, so they granted students could switch to able to work more than 20 hours for student visa. But never knew, the students were not even interested in the studies, and used that opportunity to stop schooling once they were able to switch.
@chinny-official 😅my bad. He must have meant two years as the proposal was that 1 year would be taken off the PHD tenure. It's been a long time - 10 years now since I completed the MSC 😅 Thanks for giving more clarity to my thoughts.
