Tessa Johnson is such a a cool headed player. Even with her struggles, she doesn't get inside her own head. She just keeps being Tessa. Big props to the upper class ladies and coaches for continuing to trust and encourage her along.

Being a die hard Indiana fan I Love this team. Of course Indiana was my favorite but SC ran a close second. I have so much respect for Coach Staley. She has shown respect for the game of women’s basketball, her players, other layers, and other coaches. For Tessa to say who her inspiration came from God and that Christ lived in her, and her in Him makes perfect sense. We all get our talents from God. For Coach Staley to speak of giving God all the Glory rather they win or lose is what having Faith is all about. God knows the outcome and God is always Good!!! He will see you through it!! May God Bless this team throughout the rest of this Tournament keep them well and if it’s his Will to Win it All! Also may God Bless Oregon State and heal their heart, bc this had to hurt. Wow amazing performance by the south Carolina Women team this afternoon was a tough and physical and mental game tonight but by the end of the clock they came out in top.Hopefully they will win the championship this year. Great contributions tonight and efforts from Ashlyn,Kamilla and Te-hina tonight.But for me the MVP player goes to Kamilla her 12 points lead South Carolina to the victory and prevented them from being eliminated. But on the defense end this afternoon was a big and great game coming from Ashlyn Watkins with 14 rebounds and 4 blocks she did amazing work on the defense end . The defense MVP goes to Watkins tonight. This is a great afternoon for Gamecocks fans and Dawn Stanley as well.👍

I love that coach Staley took a moment at the end to recognize the job the Albany hosts did. I've never heard a coach do that unprompted. Only time we hear about tournament hosts is when they do something wrong.
That was just a small act, but it's a reminder of how lucky we are to have coach Staley at South Carolina. She's not just a champion, she's a woman of character who uses her platform to lift up people who deserve recognition. Similar to when she defended Flau'jae after the SEC title game.

Again in my opinion Kamila Cardosa is the single most important player to this success...
However she has to be more physical and aggressive in the post if they are going to win it all...
On the offensive side of the court she has to move people and position herself for a higher percentage shot instead of trying to force a shot up where she receives the ball...
Don't be afraid to move people to get a better shot...
On defense I noticed that she got in foul trouble trying to front a young lady that is 4 inches shorter than her.
She didn't need to do that...
Just keep her off her spot and defend the rim...
And anticipate were the ball is coming off the rim and be deliberate about getting it instead of waiting for it to come to you...
I think Dawn Staley and her staff may need to work with her on her aggression, physicality, and positioning on both sides of the court.
This is the finals and these teams are leaving it ALL on the court...
They are going to be aggressive and physical...
Especially in and around the basket so the post players will have to match their physicality and aggression....

Its like playing Russian Roulette....you can keep dogdging the bullet for several times, but the more you keep doing it, eventually its going to get you. You only need to fail one time. Bottomline....its a bad habit to keep doing it because its a 100% certainty soon or later you are going to fail - you simply don't know when the failure will happen.
It's not a thing of letting teams get back in the game, and it being a bad habit, it's just that they're playing great teams😂... when you're playing great teams, that's just part of the game. You may make a run, and then the other team may make a run. What great teams do, though, is they don't get too high on the highs when they make a run, and they don't get too low on the lows when the other team makes their runs...USC continues to win games and make it looks so easy most of the time, to where you guys don't realize the greatness and level of the competition they're going up against. That's why Dawn Staley, in my mind, is one of the greatest coaches of all time. Being able to have consistent even against other great coaches and teams

SC has to beat Iowa by 25-points to insure SC take the game out of the Referees hands. After yesterday’s game I know the NCAAW basketball association wants Caitlin Clark to get a championship because that’s the only way they can continue to push the narrative that she the GOAT (and NCAA Division I scoring champion…when the know beyond a shadow of a doubt. Pearl Moore is the All-Time Women scoring champion because she hold the collegiate WCB record) although she’s does have any defensive ability whatsoever and she was get exposed and exploited for her lack of defense in the WNBA-go Gamecocks!

Dawn seems to have such a short fuse when it comes to Fulwiley! It almost seems like she wants show she can do it with out her!
I think of it that she is protecting her. Almost like she would rather sit her down before she lets her be mediocre. She will be fine. Dawn is big ok playing the right way so I know she will be great. Dawn knows what she is doing with her and I’m excited to see her growth and maturation.
Dawn does what she does because she has to COACH...during games, she ain't got no time for your fan appreciation perspective. She's got to do what's best for the team in the moment and if that means Fulwiley needs to sit, then she sits. Dawn knows the full value of Fulwiley...she told you that from day one - but it still don't mean she's gonna let Fulwiley play undisciplined.

Wiley is their best player and the player with the most potential and the most popular player on the team so i bet that's why she's extra hard on her.
She may be the most talented but is not necessarily the most consistent.
Whose minutes is she going take? Johnson plays with composure, and her defense has gotten better, hence the reason she got more minutes this game.
Oregon State wasn't killing us from the in the second half because of her D and ability to fight over screens.
It's one or done time and possessions are critical, Coach Staley is going to roll with the player that puts us in the best position to win. Who plays more changes each game. We are fortunate that we have quality depth throughout the roster to make the necessary adjustments and not have play deteriorate.
