This is really bad, Insurance is denied on the grounds this is automobile case this is BS & Police is not able to find the culprit of Hit & run case.
She was almost on the verge of dying.
And all expenses going to the victim.
Total BS, feel really bad for her.

Only students and their parents such in temporary visa going gurdwara sahib pls check things has been changed.. gurdwara sahib requested certain item in donations. That means Punjabi Canadian don’t go the way use to visit gurdwara sahib. Sad reality

Thus if a car strikes a pedestrian, onus is on the Driver to prove that it wasn't his mistake. In this case as the driver ran away, he is clearly at fault of 'Hit and Run'.

The comments here are just so mean and unnecessary. As someone born and raised here and has moved around in many cities, I have seen first hand alot of good that international students have done in our communities too.

really felt sad for her may god bless her and heal her faster, but video should be shown to confirm weather she was paying attention while crossing the road or crossing on red walk light and rather then staying here without working will be a total waste of her parents hard earned money it will be best for her to go back home for now many chance will come in future to be back here again....

As I am witness I see students crossing the road on red lights to catch buses
Shame on the police department, calling Canada as a developed country is wrong, if they can’t catch the culprit even after so many advancements in CCTV surveillance technology.
And one thing surprised me the victim is saying police showed her the clips of the accident, so why can’t police trace the vehicle from that clip.
Further I am equally surprised by the attitude of the insurance company who declined her claim, just because a motor vehicle is involved, insurance company should process her claim and should approach the police for the details of vehicle to recover there due from the policy of the vehicle.
I pray to God that this girl gets the Justice and both the perpetrator (driver) & insurance company should be punished.
Dont use Phone while crossing the road. We have to save ourselves. She should file a case against college and she will win and get her wp and later PR too.

Get an injury lawyer and sue the insurance company that had the tie-up with your college, Accidents are covered in most student insurance policies and you will need a lawyer to represent you and read the fine prints.
