  • This pretty little bowl just lends itself to a vintage style - so soft interesting floral materials, blended together with soft, small leaved foliage. We wanted to keep it authentic, so decided to not use floral foam, but create a frame with the wire to hold the flowers. It's pretty on its own, but make more and decorate a whole table!
    Ingredients - shallow vintage glass bowl, aluminium wire, astilbe, hypericum, ranunculus, waxflower, veronica and pistache foliage

    Another genius idea shared... I hate working with chicken wire and wouldn’t have thought of the aluminum wire, this is why I love watching and learning from your videos. Perfect for bedside when visitors come, or as you suggested a few along the dinner table. Thank you again.

    Very beautiful and petite. I just realized that I am not using enough wire and pushing it too far into the container.

    Hi John, thanks for the video. The variation and the freshness, beautiful!!! I like the idea of using aluminium wire as it doesn't bruise flowers unlike chicken wire, when inserting any. ☺♎

    Is that just a paring knife that you are using? Also, where do you buy aluminum wire? The arrangement is beautiful.

      Thank you. You can get this type of wire in any craft shop such as hobbycraft or florist store. It’s a good investment as you can use it again and again.
      The knife is a florist knife - they are just cheap disposable knives - again in a craft shop or florist is the best place to find them. 😀

    What gauge of aluminum wire did you use? Thanks for sharing! I love how classic this design is.

      Devin Engle I will have to check - it’s a very flexible wire and can be reused again and again.

      @@sharmiladevika the wire is flexible to use in many different containers - and in deeper ones! So having both options is good! 😀

    Please can you recommend how thick should the wire be, I’m not sure what to order. Also, would it be possible to use a candle in the centre of the arrangement for a Christmas table arrangement?

    • @FlowerJoos
      @FlowerJoos  3 роки тому

      The wire is 12 gauge . Yes I think you could add a candle - you either want a dinner candle size or a church candle - the church candle has stability in itself as it’s wider, but it depends on your dish. It would be nice with a candle 🙋🏼‍♂️😀
