The Oatman family was on the Southern Overland Trail. The only town in Arizona on the trail was Tucson-founded in 1775. The narrator mentions a “town” that the Oatman family stopped at that was actually the friendly Pima-Maricopa Indian village. The narrator was about 1-mile east of one of the best-preserved sections of the trail. He was also about 1-mile east of the actual marked massacre site on the rim of Sentinel Plain. The Oatman family grave is about 1/3-mile from the massacre site in Oatman Flat. The gate is the edge of a ranch which has no trespassing signs on the roads. Lorenzo did not make it back to “civilization” but was found by the friendly Pima. Later, in 1858, this became the Butterfield Trail. Butterfield's Overland Mail Company was the longest stagecoach line in the world--2,700 miles.
Well done and very informative video about Oatman Arizona! Better purchase a Jeep so you can travel the rough roads! Really enjoyed learning about the Oatman family.
Arizona is a very beautiful place and I am so happy to call it my home even though I was born and raised in Washington and so was my family but I love Arizona much better than Washington.

Burro meant wild donkey, sp no such thing as s wild burro.
That's not the definition I've seen, but either way, it's a minor semantic. 😉☀️🌵
