4:00 - Bull. There’s epoxy all over it. There’s no way they came out that easy.
The tutorial is straightforward, and should be easy for DIY'rs or even first timers. My question is where do you buy an exact replacement for the replacement? I purchased a replacement stick for pacman but the harness is different. The original harness has 4 wires, the replacement has 5.

Yep this is where I got stuck, I've literally never come across industrial glue that stuck so tight. I'm hoping this video can help me I've tried so many solvents. Have you even melted a button on accident but only on the inside

How about some links to the actual parts? I bought my machine today and the joystick is defective.... would like to not just replace it, but upgrade it. Same with the buttons - they are not exactly arcade quality - would love to upgrade the fire button as well - otherwise, fantastic machines!
Yes, the only parts that fit stock are Arcade1up parts without modding. I would like to know where to get the arcade1up parts.
Dude I just had the same problem today fixed it in 5 min just barely fooled with the right joy sticks wiring and boom it works perfectly I went into detail on the comment above.
Arcade 1up has very bad customer service. Good luck if you need them.
You can check their website for replacement parts, but they're almost always sold out.
You can get better stuff for cheaper anyway.
Nice video! I have a PAC-Man Arcade1up machine. The joystick went out quick on this. It no longer goes down. I really want a good controller this time. I trust Sanwa or any other high quality controller. Can I use other controllers, or will only the Arcade1Up replacement controller will work?

Is there any chance of a tutorial on how to fit a Sanwa joystick in place of the crappy cheap Arcade1Up that comes stock? My PacMan machine is on it’s forth joystick, they consistently fail after around 5 months.
There's glue all over the connectors, why?? makes it near impossible to remove the buttons and joystick ..

The replacement joystick I bought didn't come with wires assembled. How do I replace that?
It's not easy taking off the joystick, there is so much glue holding it and my screws and held tight that I might strip them if I try to unscrew them
Having a hard time reassembling my joystick on street fighter. Changed the springs to 4lb and the c clamp flew across room. What is the sequence of parts in order and direction up until c clamp. Thank you

im trying to replace the joysticks on a ki arcade 1up with an open end 5 pin connector. i cant figure out which wires are the ground wires??

Why on earth are the joysticks so hard to remove, just use locktite on the screws don't glue the entire component down. You'd think if you're going to make them so hard to remove you'd use joysticks that didn't basically require you to replace them. Feels like I'm going to break the control panel just attempting to put decent sticks on it

I went to Arcade 1Up website but you can't add any parts into a cart. What's up with that?

Is not that easy because your factory decided to slap tons of glue on all the screws and the joystick. Also my joystick from the sf2 cab has 6 screw on each and is a 5 pin connector. Different than this video.
The glue shouldn't even be a problem. Just use a razer and slice it out. And a 5 pin connector is even better because the SanWa comes with 5 pin, so that'll be just a plug and play, no need to rewire.
I used a heat gun and it came right off. You just need to heat up one of the corners to get leverage.
Easy fix just take a rubber mallet on the stick end after removing the screws and balltop.
Sad I just bought this new and need better joysticks . Mine didn’t come with a protective cover either I just got it two days ago . I thought you guys were fixing that already ?
Brandon McNeely I bought two in the last two weeks and neither one of them came with control panel covers. This company is ridiculous and probably won’t last two more years.

I guess 1UP is so used to people that mod their cabinet that they just completely threw out the whole "tamper = void" concept and literally encourage you to tear apart your machine lmao
To be fair in the US it's illegal to void a warranty from someone attempting self repair unless they caused worse damages.
My arcad machine gets drift ever naw and then can I clean or spry fix or replace thank you

Quality control on these things had to be absolutely non-existent. Mine was defective out of the box and has been unusable for a month. I've now been sent the link to this unhelpful video twice. These cabinets are trash.

Seems that they have hardly anything if anything at all for sale for parts. I'm waiting for Pac Man joystick parts kit to be in stock. Nothing was in stock back in November. Are they even making parts?
I just got mine today and I have the exact same problem took less then 6 hours and the thing isn't working
Support sent me here to fix problem with trackball on the centipede 8 in 1 arcade console (12/2020). No help
Same here, a Partycade model with problems in the up/down direction. I took the back off and can see the control panel but 8t doesn’t look like it even comes off.
I fixed it myself with a little WD40, the silicone based one.
@@allenhuffman If you take the 2 silver screws on the sides of the unit(NOT the screws that holds the legs) and the 2 black screws on the top where the controls are you can lift the whole control panel off slowly. Hope this helps.
@@hondahoney007 thanks! I found another video that day that showed the two screws on each side, so I did that and was able to verify the trackball needed replacement. Aracade1Up replied several times on CHRISTMAS DAY and is sending a replacement. Great service!

can't you guys just use a standard JLF connector for the sticks and easy swaps for the buttons. I'd buy one of these if it was more user friendly.
Seriously. I don't get why they went out of their way to make their own mounting plate. It's not like they're using parts that are worth a damn anyway - let us use standard parts if we want to.

You can't, they are impossible to get.
Sorry to say, but the original Joisticks are a real bad quality.
You don't replace cheap joysticks, with more cheap A1up joysticks, you spend a few extra bucks for top notch joysticks. Otherwise it's like changing a flat tire, with another flat tire, makes no fucking sense

Arcade 1up has very bad customer service. I have been waiting for almost a month for my replacement board for my Rampage system. Now the are ignoring me.
Look at ETA PRIME. He shows how to replace the buttons and joysticks clearly and understandable.
You guys put so my fucking glue I cant even replace it. These machines are a good idea but the quality is such shit, never buying another one after what I dealt with
Couple problems with Arcade1up. The joysticks they put on their machines are garbage to begin with. Secondly, you can't find these garbage joysticks anywhere if you wanted to replace it with the original type crappy joystick. Third, their customer service is basically non-existent. They rarely respond to emails and if you do get a response, it is some kind of "canned" response that has nothing to do with what you are inquiring about. Product is so-so, customer service is no-no.

Yeah and he doesn't show it going back into the cabinet and working. Probably like: "Sonnavabitchin piece of sh*t doesn't work!!!!! I can't upgrade worth bleeeeeeppppppppppppp!!!!!!!!" (control deck gets thrown against the wall and shatters into pieces ha ha ha ha!!!!)

What kind of restrictor gate is that? My sanwa one doesn’t fit and I wanna replace it with a octagonal gate
Seems like they are using different parts now, mine is different and I could swap gates like any sanwa joystick. The one in this video is I think is now the old model.
Ray Chow yours came with a Sanwa joystick? or did you just put a sanwa joystick in?, because my Sanwa gate is too big for my SF2 cabinet joysticks, meaning I gotta put in a new joystick, problem is, they put in a bunch of glue to keep the install plate in place.
Christopher Daniels looks like a Sanwa knock off but it is different. It’s definitely better quality than the old one.

This was in my controller box stock how it came,. The gates are replaceable and size correctly.
Ray Chow woooow you actually have a sanwa restrictor, I don’t understand why mine is different, so you have a SF2 Cabinet?
