While restringing my C-Drone the new string snapped. Well turns out it got the perfect length left to be a melody string now and i definitly want to make (and learn) the most out of it. What do you want to hear in a lower tuning? Let me know under this video. I myself allready got something in mind for the next weeks.
just curious where did you get your hurdy gurdy and how much did it cost? I really want to get a hurdy gurdy but I live in saint louis Missouri USA and there aren't any reliable places to buy one from.
Sadly Hurdy Gurdys are quite expensive instruments which should be professionaly made by a luther. I got mine second hand from a local tutor. There is a hurdy gurdy marketplace on facebook aswell and ofcourse you could buy directly from a luther. Unfortunately i don't know anything about the american hurdy gurdy scene, therefore i can't really help you. Maybe you will just bump into someone who could tell you more at a fair (that's how i got into this instrument). I guess most luthers would deliver theire instruments world wide since that 50$ shipping cost doesn't really matter for an instrument that costs thousands of dollars anyways. Cheap options could also be the DIY kit nerdy gurdy which seems to be ok for the price (and teaches you alot about your instrument) or an hurdy gurdy by ancestore.eu which listed shipping prices to the USA on there website. The instruments are reasonably priced and quite good for this price range (2.500€).
