Your videos have brought me back into the world! My last few years have been a little bleak. You have given me permission to create again. Thank you for your creativity and energy, you have inspired me to get back into my quilting and crafting. You are a bright light in the world!
Great quilt! I often binge-watch quilting videos while I cut fabric or sew blocks, mostly just listening. Can’t do that with your videos - I’m glued to the screen to see what amazing things you do!
I just LOVE this quilt, Dave! The buttons were the perfect finishing touch. As you were playing with them, I kept thinking, “The more, the merrier!” The googly eyes were genius! They made me chuckle. I’m 74, and I find your quirkiness absolutely charming and your quilts delightful. Love your music choices, too. I look forward to each new quilt adventure that you take me on! 😄
Dave! Your Keytar quilt is STUNNING! I love your channel because you do your own thing. I love that you add tee shirts to pieced blocks. I thought it was hilarious that you were looking at the pile of shirts at the beginning of the video and couldn't figure out where the last one was until you realized that you were wearing it! I look forward to your videos and enjoy them all! I think it's great that you show the process from beginning to end. Keep doing what you do, can't wait to see what's next!
Nice, Nice, Nice!! Another awesome result. The buttons definitely took this quilt to the next level - good variety and placement. I love the (Japanese?) dude in the bottom row. He is really into it. Thanks for another great video.
So killer, such fun. Yes buttons r awesome. I did a lot of buttons using embroidery thread, put it through the holes twice, and tied several knots on the back, and cut the ties like .5-1” so it kinda looked like a tied quilt, I find the embroidery thread quite strong and only need to put thru the button twice for a good hold. Keep the quilts coming!!!
Oh my gosh!!! EPIC. I’m OBSESSED w buttons so that aspect was super fun…wait are those zombie and googly eye buttons?!👀 You were def right-mo buttons mo betta! Bravo Dave, difficult to wait 2 weeks but SEW SEW worth it!!!!❤ oh yeah, and who knew there was keytar tshirts and fabric out there?!😁
It wouldn't be a Dave quilt unless it had plaid flannel on the back. Love your creativity. I'm looking forward to the next video. Hopefully you'll make another 100 day quilt with a continuation from the last story.
I love all your quilts, they are so much fun and bright. The fact that you use non-traditional fabrics (but then the original quilts would have used scraps from other projects). You have me looking at fabrics in a different way. Luckily for my son's they have moved out so I can't pinch their t-shirts
So much fun with the buttons! I think my fingers would have fallen off trying to do that many by hand :/ Luckily my machine does a great job with basic buttons, so I might try a keytar pillow. You are just so inspiring Dave!!
For something that looked simple (sans buttons) that was a helluva lot of work and then the buttons on top of that - phew! The buttons really put this quilt into another dimension!
Such a fun quilt! Like your Cheetos one, you can tell when you are quilting something very close to your heart. Thank you for sharing your talents with us!
Amazing. I’d never heard of a Keytar!! It looks a bit like a hair comb but it’s stunning. I love the way you explain things too. Keep quilting please. 🎉
Dave--you now have 4 textile artists, in their 70's and 80's watching your channel. I can't believe how your positive, creative, and now...musical...talent has refined my knowledge of techniques to improvise! Keep up the colorful work inspiring others w your optimism as you continue to explore your own joy! ❤
Noice! What's a Keytar?! I'm sure the musician will be thrilled! 😂 Cut fabric LOF, not WOF to avoid fabric warping. Use on quilt borders as well, ZERO wavy borders. (1.25 yds of fabric, folded sideways would be 44" strips)
That is a cool quilt! The blocks are cool, the t shirts are cool, the colors, cool. I loved each of the tshirts and glad you showed them one by one. The flannel backing made me think of Neil Young 😂 🤷♀️😁
Love the video, love the quilt, and now I want a keytar! Is the background music your keytar work? So so cool. I will dream o! this, and have to watch again, especially your footage of the finished piece. Yes, buttons were all you imagined!
Love embellishments ! I made the mod dog quilt and made metal dog tags with my dogs’ names stamped on them. Not too practical but I like it and that’s why we quilt, right? The buttons are fantastic. Never knew this was called a ketar so I learned that too. You also inspired me to buy a Pokémon panel. Thanks Dave!
I discovered your channel a few days ago and have been bingeing your videos ever since. I think you are an incredible artist. I don’t know if you have a Patreon account, but it would be great if there was a way for your viewers to contribute a little bit here and there for supplies, which I know must add up quickly! Thanks for sharing your art with us.
Always, you are such an inspiration. Love every aspect of it. Wow for the buttons too. Do you have any idea of the average age of your followers. I suspect they are older like the one comment before mine. Your designs and methods are a breath of fresh air!

You know the flat buttons can be sewn on by sewing machine, right? There's actually a button foot.
lol yes 😅 I did it that way in my cheezit video, but I prefered sewing them on by hand 😜👨🏻
KEYDAR quilt is genius! And pretty too. Also like much of your background music.

G'day Dave, love it, but as you were pinning it altogether, i was busy watching what looked like UNHhhh :) :) Yep, the buttons made the block pop

This is ridiculously beautiful, Dave. Did the buttons add a lot of weight? I always think 6 button weigh nothing but a box of buttons weighs a ton.
Wonderful! I enjoy every one of your videos. Like one of your other viewers - I had not heard of a keytar either.
This is STUNNING! Thank you for sharing!!
When was the last time someone told you that you are a GENIUS!!
